Installing liquid dispensing

Select the required installation kit for the specific washing machine.

Danger due to incorrect service and repair work

WARNING

  • Danger due to incorrect service and repair work.
    There is a risk of serious damage, injury and even death if service and repair work is carried out incorrectly.

A Service and repair work should only be carried out by a suitably qualified electrician with specialist training, knowledge and experience.

  • A All appropriate safety requirements must be taken into account.
  • A Wear personal protective equipment.
  • A First read the Miele service documentation, then commence work.
  • A Ensure that no people or animals can access the work area while service work is being carried out.
Installing liquid dispensing

Only applies to the following washing machines with Profitronic controls:

  •  WS5071
  • W6071
  • WS5101
  • WS5141
  • WS5191
  • WS5240
  •  WS5320
  • WS5243
  • WS5323

A Disconnect the washing machine from the mains electricity supply. A Remove the machine lid.

On the liquid dispensing detergent drawer, drill the appropriate number of sockets for the machine version.
(Drill Ø 4.0 mm), see Fig. 1.
Use the lower sockets first.

  • Attach the liquid dispensing hose Ø 6.0 mm (1) to a drilled connection on the liquid dispensing detergent drawer and
    secure using a hose clip (2), see Fig. 1.
    If you are working with acids, bleaching agents or similar chemicals, install a non-return valve (DOS-R, mat. no.
  1. in the liquid dispensing hose upstream of the liquid dispensing detergent drawer.
  •  Cut a short piece off the dispensing hose upstream of the drawer (make the cut straight, not at an angle).
    When installing the non-return valve, make sure the direction of flow is correct. The arrow (2) on the non-return valve indicates the direction of flow, see 2.

  • Attach the two dispensing hose ends to the connectors on the non-return valve and tighten using nuts.

  •  Push the open end of the short dispenser hose piece onto the dispenser connection and secure with a hose clip (1), see Fig. 2.

  • Use the 4 screws (4) on the liquid dispensing detergent drawer to attach the holding plate (3), see Fig. 2.

  • Secure the liquid dispensing hoses to the holding plate using cable holders (5), see Fig. 2.

Installing the dispenser pump in the pump housing

  •  Screw threaded union PG 13.5 into the housing base using counter nuts (8) and (9), see Fig. 3.
  •  Install threaded union PG 9 based on the pumps to be installed, using counter nuts (1) to (7), see Fig. 3.
  • Seal the remaining openings with stoppers and counter nuts.
  • Connect the connection cables for the dispenser pumps and level indicator, and the individual black (bk), blue (bl) and green/yellow (gnye) wires, as shown on the wiring diagram.

    • A Install the dispenser pump, see Fig. 4
    • A After installation, secure the lid with 3 self-tapping screws.

I nstalling the housing on the mobile rack (optional)

  • Install the housing on the rack using 4 M5 raised-head screws, see Fig. 5.
  • Fasten the pipe holder to the rack using blind rivets, see Fig. 5.
  • Clip the return connector (used in the event of the hose rupturing) into the hole in the pump lid.

Installing the connection cables and shielding

  •  Model WS5071/W6071 only: lay connection cables 6×0.5 (2) and 8×0.5 (1) through cable glands PG 13.5 in the connection strip for electronic module EZL112.
  •  Fasten the shielding using a hose clip (3), see Fig. 6.
  •  Model WS5101/WS5141 only: lay connection cables 6×0.5 (2) and 8×0.5 (1) through cable glands PG 13.5 in the connection strip for electronic module EZL112.
  •  Fasten the shielding using a hose clip (3), see Fig. 7.
  •  In the case of all appliances, fasten the shielding using a hose clip, see Fig

Installing the electronic module

Install connection cable 6×0.5 for the level indicator separately from the live connection cable.
Fasten the shielding using a hose clip.
For safety reasons, the connection cables must not exceed 4.50 m in length.
All unused connection screws must be screwed into place.

  • Wire colours:
  • bl – blue
  • br – brown
  •  gn – green
  • ye – yellow
  •  rd – red
  • bk – black
  •  wh – white
  • Connect the 8-pin ribbon cable to the electronic module power supply unit EG 110.
  •  Connect the electronic module EZL 112 to the connection cables using the green plug-in screw terminals, as shown on the wiring diagram.
    A Connect the black (bk) wire jumper to the 17-pin screw connector strip for undocumented level messages.

Commissioning the washing machine

  • The dispensing quantity must be set according to the specifications provided by the detergent supplier. See the washer-extractor operating instructions.
  •  Carry out appropriate electrical safety checks.
  • Carry out a functional check only with the dispenser pump system filled.
  • Enclose the wiring diagram and installation instructions.
  • Refit the rear panel and machine lid.
