Installation
Preparing the crossbar assembly
Unscrew the two mounting balls (1) from the fixture body (A).
Remove the crossbar assembly (AA) from the fixture body (A) and keep the
crossbar assembly (AA) and two mounting balls (1) for later use.
Installing the crossbar assembly
Secure the crossbar assembly (AA) to the outlet box (not included) with the
outlet box screws (BB). Tighten until snug.
NOTE: The preassembled mounting screws on the crossbar should protrude
outward.
Test fitting ceiling canopy on the fixture body to the crossbar assembly
- Fit the ceiling canopy (2) on the fixture body (A) to the crossbar assembly (AA) and secure with the mounting balls (1).
If this does not work, adjust the length of the mounting screws on the crossbar assembly (AA) by unscrewing the preassembled hex nuts (3).
Then, screw the mounting screws in or out of the crossbar assembly (AA) until the desired length is achieved. Once the ceiling canopy (2) on the fixture body (A) is secure, remove the mounting balls (1) and fixture body (A) and
proceed to Step 4.
NOTE: The ceiling canopy (2) should be snug against the ceiling and the mounting balls (1).
Adjust the cord length
Loosen the set screw on the coupling on the underside of the ceiling canopy.
Adjust the cord in or out of the ceiling canopy according to your hanging
height.
Tighten the set screw on the coupling once your hanging height is achieved.
Recommended length, from the top of canopy to bottom of socket, when mounting
above a 30 inch high table:
8 foot ceiling: Adjust cord length to 12 in. from the coupling to the ceiling
9 foot ceiling: Adjust cord length to 24 in. from the coupling to the ceiling
10 foot ceiling: Adjust cord length to 36 in. from the coupling to the ceiling
11 foot ceiling: Adjust cord length to 48 in. from the coupling to the ceiling
12 foot ceiling: Adjust cord length to 60 in. from the coupling to the
ceiling
Cut and strip wires
- Confirm the desired hanging height. Refer to step 4 if adjustments are needed.
- Using wire cutters, cut the fixture cord leaving approximately 10 inches of wire extending from the canopy. On the fixture cord, remove 4 inches of the outer sleeve.
- Using wire strippers, strip each wire 1/2 inch from the end.
Making the electrical connections
- Use wire connectors (CC) to connect the wires.
Ground Wire:
Wrap the supply ground wire around the green ground screw on the crossbar (AA), no less than 2 in. from the end of the wire. Tighten the ground screw.
Connect the fixture ground wire to the supply ground wire with a wire connector (CC).
Supply Wire:
Connect the supply white wire to the white fixture supply wire with a wire connector (CC).
Connect the supply black (or red) wire to the black fixture supply wire with a wire connector (CC).
Wrap each connection with approved electrical tape and carefully insert all of the connected wires into the outlet box.
Attaching the fixture body to the outlet box
Re-attach ceiling canopy (2) on the fixture body (A) to the crossbar assembly
(AA).
Secure with the previously removed mounting balls (1).
Installing the light bulbs
Install the correct bulbs (not included) referring to fixture markings and/or
labels for maximum wattage.
NOTE: Uses three 60W maximum medium base (E26) type “S” or type “A” or 9W
maximum medium base (E26) self-ballasted LED vintage Edison bulbs (sold
separately).
Care and Cleaning
- Do not use any cleaners with chemicals, solvents, or harsh abrasives. Use only a dry, soft cloth to dust or wipe carefully.
- To clean the fixture, disconnect power by turning off the circuit breaker or by removing the fuse at the fuse box, and use a dry or slightly dampened, clean cloth to wipe the exterior surface of the fixture.
