Assembly
Warning – danger! All installation and assembly operations must be
performed with the machine disconnected from the mains power supply. The
assembly sequence is illustrated in fig.2.
Fitting the rotary nozzle
(For models with this feature). The rotary nozzle kit delivers greater washing
power. Use of the rotary nozzle may cause a reduction in pressure of 25%
compared to the pressure obtained with the adjustable spray nozzle. However,
the rotary nozzle delivers greater washing power due to the rotation of the
water jet.
Electrical connection
Warning – danger! Check that the electrical supply voltage and frequency
(V-Hz) correspond to those specified on the data plate (fig.2). Use of
extension cables The cross-section of the extension cable should be
proportional to its length; the longer it is, the greater its cross-section
should be. See table I.
Water supply connection
Warning – danger! Only clean or filtered water should be supplied to the
machine. The flow rate of the water inlet tap must be equal to that of the
pump. Place the machine as close to the water supply system as possible.
Connection points
- l Water outlet (OUTLET)
- n Water inlet with filter (INLET)
Connection to the mains water supply: The machine may only be connected directly to the mains drinking water supply if the supply hose is fitted with a backflow preventer valve with drain facility as per current regulations in force. Make sure that the hose is at least Ø 13 mm, that it is reinforced and that it is not more than 25 m long.
ADJUSTMENTS (FIG.3)/PAGE 5
Adjusting the detergent pressure
To deliver detergent at the correct pressure, set the nozzle (E) on ” ” as
shown.
Setting the temperature
When operating with hot water, use the thermostat (Y) to set the working
temperature required.
INFORMATION ON USE OF THE MACHINE (FIG.4)/PAGE 5
Controls
- Starter device (H). Set the starter device on (ON/I) to start the motor. In this position, the device also enables operation with hot water if required. If there is a pilot light on the starter device, it should light up. Set the starter device on (OFF/0) to stop the machine. If there is a pilot light on the starter device, it should go out. Hot water operation device (T). Set the hot water operation device on (ON/I) to start the boiler. If there is a pilot light on the starter device, it should light up. Set the starter device on (OFF/0) to stop the boiler. If there is a pilot light on the hot water operation device, it should go out.
- Temperature setting thermostat (Y) (See 7.3).
- Water jet trigger (I).
Warning – danger! During operation the machine must be positioned as shown in fig.4 on a firm, stable surface.
Start-up (see fig.4)
- Turn on the water supply tap fully.
- Release the safety catch (D).
- Depress the gun trigger for a few seconds and start up the machine by setting the starter device (H) on (ON/I).
Warning – danger! Before starting up the machine check that it is receiving water correctly; use of the machine without water will damage it. Do not cover the ventilation grilles when the machine is in use. When the gun trigger is released the dynamic pressure automatically cuts out the electric motor with a delay of about 15 seconds. When the gun trigger is depressed the automatic drop in pressure starts the motor and the pressure is restored after a very slight delay; If the machine is to function correctly, all gun trigger releasing and depressing operations must be at least 4-5 seconds apart. To prevent damage to the machine, do not allow it to operate dry and check that it is properly supplied with water at all times.
Stopping
- Set the starter device on (OFF/0).
- Depress the gun trigger and discharge the residual pressure (H) inside the hoses.
- Engage the safety catch (D).
Restarting
- Release the safety catch (D).
- Depress the gun trigger and discharge the residual air inside the hoses.
- Set the starter device on (ON/I).
Start-up with hot water
- Fill the diesel tank (B8) using automotive diesel only.
- Repeat points 1, 2 and 3 of section 8.2.
- Check that the thermostat (Y) is on 0 °C-OFF.
- Turn on the boiler using the switch (T).
- Wait 30 seconds for the diesel circuit to fill.
- Turn the thermostat (Y) to the required temperature to light the burner. Once the required temperature is reached, the boiler will cut out automatically, relighting whenever the temperature falls.
Storage
- Return the thermostat (Y) to zero.
- Operate the machine with cold water for 2 minutes to cool it.
- Turn off the boiler switch (T).
- Turn off the water supply tap.
- Discharge the residual pressure from the trigger gun until all the water has come out of the machine.
- Switch the machine off (OFF/0).
- Remove the plug from the socket.
- Drain and wash out the detergent circuit at the end of the working session. To wash out the detergent circuit, use clean water instead of the detergent.
- Engage the trigger gun safety catch (D).
Filling with and using detergent
The detergent must be delivered using the accessories and by the procedures
described in point 7.1. Use of a high pressure hose longer than the one
originally supplied with the machine, or the use of an additional hose
extension, may reduce or completely halt the suction of detergent from a tank
(on machines with this feature)/detergent suction kit.
Filling with diesel
Check the diesel level and if necessary fill up with automotive diesel (see
data plate) before each use with hot water. Take great care not to spill
diesel on hot surfaces.
Recommended cleaning procedure
Dissolve dirt by applying the detergent to the surface while still dry. When
dealing with vertical surfaces work from the bottom upwards. Leave the
detergent to act for 1-2 minutes but do not allow the surface
to dry. Starting from the bottom, use the high pressure jet at a minimum
distance of 30 cm. Do not allow the rinse water to run onto unwashed surfaces.
In some cases, scrubbing with brushes is needed to remove dirt. High pressure
is not always the best solution for good washing results, since it may damage
some surfaces. The needle jet setting of the adjustable spray nozzle and the
rotary nozzle should not be used on delicate or painted parts, or on
pressurised components (e.g. tyres, inflation valves, etc.). Effective
cleaning depends on both the pressure and volume of the water used, to the
same degree.
ROUTINE MAINTENANCE (FIG.5)/PAGE 6
Any maintenance operations not covered by this chapter should be carried out
by an Authorised Sales and Service Centre.
Warning – danger! Always disconnect the plug from the power socket before
carrying out any work on the machine.
Inspect the power cable, high pressure hose, fittings, trigger gun and lance
at each use.
Cleaning the nozzle
- Disconnect the lance from the trigger gun.
- Remove any dirt deposits from the nozzle hole using the tool (C1).
Cleaning the filters
Inspect the inlet filter (L), the detergent filter (where fitted) and the
diesel filters before each use, and if necessary clean in accordance with the
instructions. Replace the filters if necessary.
Oil level
Check the pump oil level and add oil through the intake hole to restore the
correct level. Refer to the “Technical data” table for the oil
characteristics.
End-of-season storage
Before putting the machine into store for the winter, run it with
nonaggressive, non-toxic antifreeze. Put the machine in a dry place, protected
from frost. 10
