Morenicol Cytofex Leaflet
Product Information:
Morenicol Cytofex is a product that is effective against external bacterial infections in fish such as skin ulcers, fin rot, and hole disease. It is based on 100% natural raw materials that have a proven antibacterial effect, such as Tea Tree oil, extract of Iceland moss, and of the Pau d’Arco-tree. The product is available in four different sizes: 250 ml for 2,500 liters, 500 ml for 5,000 liters, 1,000 ml for 10,000 liters, and 2,500 ml for 25,000 liters. The product should not be used in combination with other treatments and is not suitable for filtering over kool or zeolite. UV-lamps and ozone devices should be switched off for up to one week after the last application.
Usage Instructions:
- Calculate the contents of the pond as accurately as possible: length x width x average depth in decimeters = contents in liters.
- Test the water quality before and after using Morenicol Cytofex to ensure optimal results. Correct any issues as needed.
- Use Cytofex for three consecutive days. On Day 1, add 1 ml per 30 liters of pond water; On Day 2, add 1 ml per 30 liters of pond water; On Day 3, add 1 ml per 30 liters of pond water.
- Do not change the water between applications. Shake well before use. Measure the required amount in the measuring cup provided and pre-mix it in a watering can or bucket of water. Then distribute evenly over the pond.
- Ensure adequate aeration of the pond to maintain sufficient oxygen levels for the fish, especially for sensitive species such as sturgeons.
- If white, compact spots appear on the fish’s mouth, it may be a sign of beak fungus. If the fins are severely affected and hanging in shreds, it may be fin rot. The fish will become lethargic, and if the gills or internal organs are also affected, death may follow quickly.
Note: Morenicol Cytofex is believed to be harmless to aquatic animals such as frogs, salamanders, lobsters, and snails. If you have positive or negative experiences with the product, please contact us via www.colombo.nl or email: info@colombo.nl.
Morenicol Cytofex is effective against external bacterial infections like
skin ulcers, fin rot and hole disease.
Cytofex is based on 100% natural raw materials with a proven antibacterial
effect, like Tea Tree oil, extract of Iceland moss and of the Pau d’Arco-tree.
Determination of pond volume
Calculate the volume of the pond to be treated as accurately as possible. In
metres: length x breadth x average depth x 1000 = volume in litres.
Morenicol Cytofex is available in the following sizes: 250 ml for 2,500 ltr of
pond water, 500 ml for 5,000 ltr and 1,000 ml for 10,000 ltr.
Water quality:
For an optimal effect of the treatment and for a quick recovery of the
diseased fish, a good water quality is essential. Hence, always test the water
quality before and after the treatment, and correct when necessary.
Dosage:
Cytofex has to be added on 3 consecutive days.
- Day 1: 1 ml per 30 liters of pond water;
- Day 2: 1 ml per 30 liters of pond water;
- Day 3: 1 ml per 30 liters of pond water.
A measuring cup is included in the box. Shake well before use. Measure the
necessary amount in the measuring cup and mix with water in a watering can or
a bucket. Distribute evenly over the pond.
The active ingredients in Cytofex are natural substances and thus the
biological degradation can lower the oxygen level in your pond. Therefore
ensure that aeration of your pond water is optimal, so that your fish always
have sufficient oxygen available; especially species like sturgeon are
sensible for this.
Remove carbon and zeolite during treatment; UV-lamps and ozone should be
switched off during 1 week after the last administration.
Warning: As far as known, this product is harmless to aquatic creatures
such as frogs, salamanders, freshwater lobsters and snails. In case you have
either posi-tive or negative experiences, please notify us via
www.colombo.nl or Email:
info@colombo.nl
Only for use on ornamental pond fish.Keep out of reach of children. Store in
the box at a temperature of 4 to 32°C. Do not inhale. Prevent contact with the
skin and eyes. If swallowed, immediately consult a physician and show package
or label.
Combinations:
The effect of a combination with other products is not known. The
administration of more than 2 products in one combination is at your own risk!
Effect upon other animals:
Pets and birds drink water from the pond to which this medication has been
added. In general it is thought that, if fish can swim in the water, it is
harmless to animals who drink from the same water. Nevertheless, during this
treatment, it would be advisable to give animals (e.g. dogs), who regularly
drink water from the pond, a dish of water.
Decomposition:
Added therapeutics will disappear automatically from ponds because of natural
processes, such as oxidation and decomposition by means of bacteria.
What to do with auxiliary equipment:
UV lamps, ozone generators, algae magnets and carbon filters have to be
disconnected during 1 week after the last administration. Underwater filters
or simple filters on the side, which work without the supply of oxygen: Clean
the filter contents in advance and replace or filter over wads. The filter can
remain turned on. For the improvement of the biological balance it is
advisable to clean the filter thoroughly 1 week after the last administration
and to add Colombo Fish Protect to the pond water. One day later the
biological filtration can be stimulated by adding Colombo Filterstart (liv-ing
nitrifying bacteria) to the water.
Information:
hole disease, skin ulcerations, mouthtrush and fin rot are caused by bacteria,
primarily by Cytophaga columnaris (previously called Flexibacter). When the
skin is damaged through chafing, fish lice, or a disease such as white spot,
it opens the way for bacterial infections. The infection generally spreads in
a circle outward from the damaged skin area and round lesions or ulcers
appear. The skin dies off and fish appear to have white spots on the skin.
This is often confused with a fungus. When this white tissue falls of, it
leaves a red hole or skin ulcer.
Mouththrush:
Appears around the mouth in the form of compact white spots. The fins may be
affected by fin rot and take on a shredded appearance. The fish become
listless and if the gills or internal organs also become affected, death will
quickly follow.
