If you receive a Grail that feels soft or squishy, contact the manufacturer immediately. As the product is a 100% natural, alive organic product, there can always be a Grail that dies on the shipping way to you. We ship only healthy, living Grails, and as the Grails are very strong organism, they arrive mostly in great shape. A healthy Grail is hard! If upon receiving it feels soft or squishy, contact us immediately! It is possible (though unlikely) that the Grail you received, is contaminated and will not create any mushrooms. Anyway, as long as the bag is sealed, the guarantee is valid and you can get it replaced! Simply take a picture that shows that the bag is unopened, note the serial number of the Grail, send picture and serial number via e-mail to [email protected] If your Grail is confirmed dead by us, you will receive a replacement Grail without any extra costs.

Product Usage Instructions
- Inflate the bag by blowing some air into it: Press your lips onto the filter and blow up the bag like you would do with a balloon. Keep blowing air into the bag until it is inflated to its full size, but still loose (not under pressure like a balloon!).
- Move the Grail to stand up inside of the bag and place it on a level surface. The filter should be at the same height as the grail, a few centimeters off the ground. (See picture)
- The space above the lid is where the majority of the mushrooms will grow through the cardboard and out of the grail.
- Do NOT open the bag until you see the first small mushrooms!
- The Magic Mold is a pure white mold. As long as the grail is fully or partially covered with pure white mold, it’s great. The Magic Mold can become blueish. This is a known characteristic that indicates potency of the mushroom and no problem!
- When one forgets to harvest and thus not opens the bag, while mushrooms grew inside, it will not be replaced. If you would not open the bag and harvest the Grail, the mushrooms will mature and open their caps and let the spores out. A sealed bag that grew mushrooms inside cannot be replaced on our expenses. But, you can still open and harvest it, wash the Grail and bag and it will continue growing mushrooms.

Please read the following information carefully to understand the product, warranty and grow instructions! Bluestem™ Grails come sealed in a bag, with an air filter keeping them fresh and clean.
Note that the whole Grail is alive, a living organism that it drinks water, metabolizes food, sheds water, breathes and procreates by making the fruit bodies, called mushrooms. It is neither an animal nor a plant but a mold. It is the Magic Mold, or Sacred Mold, some called it “Flesh of God”, one of the oldest organisms on this earth and one of the most – if not THE most – beneficial organisms for human kind.
The first step is to inflate the bag by blowing some air into it:
Press your lips onto the filter and blow up the bag like you would do with a
baloon. (You can put a tissue between your lips and the filter, if you like
to, but the filter is usually clean.) Keep blowing air into the bag until it

One very important differences between a Blustem™ Grail and the usual growkit is that the seal of the bag has to be broken AFTER the first mushrooms will have start growing. The usual growkits are opened well BEFORE the first mushrooms grow. Therefore there is no success guarantee by the producer of grow kits – but a full success guarantee for the Bluestem™ Grail. As warranty voids when the bag is cut open, and the bag of the Bluestem™ Grail remains sealed until the first mushrooms grow, the first harvest is guaranteed. Anyway, the total yield is much dependent on your actions!

No, once mushrooms start growing, the warranty is fulfilled. If you would not
open the bag and harvest the Grail, the mushrooms will mature and open their
caps and let the spores out. A sealed bag that grew mushrooms inside cannot be
replaced on our expenses. But, you can still open and harvest it, wash the
Grail and bag and it will continue growing mushrooms
The end of the life cycle
The Grail will live for many weeks in your household if treated properly. When it becomes weak and old, you can simply return it to nature. Place it anywhere into the soil, improving the health of the soil, feeding worms and insects and even allowing it to find food again to grow outside. If you place it into a hole filled with well watered straw, there is a chance it will colonize the straw and fruit again at a later stage. You can thus “turn straw into gold” – the Sacred Mushrooms. If you cannot place the old Grail into nature, you should place it on your compost or give it to someone who is growing worms, as worms love it. It is not just bio-degradable, but bio-healing and bio- supporting, a real PRO-bioticum; only throw it into the trash if you have no other option… The only part that must go into the trash is the filter-bag.
Grow instructions
I received my Bluestem™ Grail, what do I do now?
The things you need to do, are:
- Take the filter bag with the Grail inside, out of the shipping box or tube.
- Carefully blow some air inside the bag through the bag’s HEPA filter, by pressing your mouth to the filter and blow. This is not easy and it may take some time. You do not need to hurry, but the bag should be well filled with air and stand upright. The Grail inside the bag shall be on the same side as the filter: filter about 10 cm above the ground, Grail on the bottom of the bag and the lid of the Grail shall be on the upper side of the Grail. - Place the sealed bag with the Grail inside at some place where the temperature is usually in the range between 21°C and 26°C. If it becomes colder during the night, it is no problem. It should never become much warmer than 26°C.
- Place the bag at some place where there is either indirect daylight or UV rich artificial light. Never place the bag behind the window where the sun can shine on it!
- Wait. Do NOT open the bag, do NOT spray, water or do anything with the bag. Simply wait.
I see the first mushrooms on the Grail!
What do I do now?
Open the bag at the top and put some bottled, still drinking water into the bag, so the grail stands in about 1cm of water! The warranty is voided in this moment, as you can see mushrooms and even if they are still tiny, the warranty guarantees mushrooms that are now there. Fold the top of the bag and use a clip to close it. Check the water in the bag daily! If it becomes yellow, the Grail “urinates”, that is, the Magic Mold lets his organic waste out. Hold the Grail through the bag and pour out the yellowish water and fill in fresh bottled still drinking water. Do this during the whole life cycle of your Grail!

What do I do now?
The perfect time to harvest has arrived!
- Prepare a plate, wash it, but rinse with enough water, so no soap remains on the plate! Rather dirty than poisonous for the Grail.
- Wash your hands and rinse with lot of water, so no soap remains on the hands. Do not use gloves, never use disinfectants!
- Using scissors, cut the bag open at the top, wide enough to fit the grail through the opening.
- Take the Grail out with your hand and place it on the plate.
- Harvest the mushrooms by gently turning them clockwise or counter clockwise. If they are clustered and one is already ripe and others small, you need to harvest the whole cluster even if it has small mushrooms in it. In case of free standing small mushrooms, you can let them grow.
- When the harvest is done, place the Grail back into the bag and close it again with the clip.
- In case you recognize that small mushrooms stopped growing, you need to harvest them all.
- Remember to check the water the Grail is standing in to be always fresh and replace the water when it becomes yellow
Important : Unlike truffles, mushrooms decay very fast. You can store fresh mushrooms for around 5 days inside the fridge. Thus, it is important to dry them well. If you have no food dehydrator, get our “heating mat dehydrator” as a cheap and noiseless way to dry mushrooms!
How many flushes are guaranteed?
At least one mushroom is guaranteed, but how many flushes you manage to produce is up to you. The Grail is extremely immune against molds from the air by it’s design, so you should get at least 3 flushes/harvests, but rather many more. The Grails have a high nutrient filling that allows for relatively very high total yield from a lot of flushes/grow cycles until all nutrient is consumed.
I have already harvested – and my Grail looks contaminated, there are some green/brown/yellow/gray/black molds on the Grail and it is becoming soft. What shall I do?
When the Grail starts becoming weaker as it’s life cycle moves to the end, adversary molds can attack it and start growing on dying parts of it. As long as it is just a few small places, the Grail might grow some more Magic Mushrooms, as it is designed to be very protective against outside molds. Keep it inside the clip-closed bag and observe it.
When you start noticing a bad and “rotten” smell instead of the strong mushroom-forestsmell you experienced when you opened the bag for the first time; thus when the smell becomes bad, the Grail becomes bad. Once it starts rotting, it will rot fast and within a few days you will either see some last mushrooms to pick or will have to dispose the Grail on a compost or into the nature, as it is great still great food for worms and insects. It is not only not poisonous for the soil, it is a nutrient for the earth. The plastic bag must be disposed into plastic trash. But the complete Grail is bio-supportive not just biodegradable! Using the Grail instead of a growkit reduces waste by more than 90%, offers a 100% success rate to the buyer, is looking very attractive and the mushrooms, when harvested, do not have any substrate sticking to them, so they do not need to be cleaned. Besides, the Grail has usually many more flushes (=mushrooms grow cycles) and the total yield of all harvests is much higher than for a traditional growkit of the same seize.
