Features
The Dell Mobile Battery Charger for Latitude 7230 Rugged ExtremeTablet comes with the following features:
- Battery compartments
- LED indicators

Setting up the charger

Connect either a 4.5 mm DC-in or USB Type-C power adapter to the corresponding power adapter port on the charger.
NOTE: For the DC-in power adapter port, use either a 45 W or 65 W power adapter. For the USB Type-C power adapter port use either a 45 W, 65 W, or 90 W power adapter. -
(Optional) Connect a device to the 10 W USB power output port to charge the device.
LED indicators
The status indicators for each battery compartment use dual-colored (green and amber) LED lights to indicate the charging status as well as the error status for any inserted batteries. The definition of each behavior for the LEDs are described below.
LED behavior | Definition |
---|---|
Off | No battery inserted or battery fully charged |
Solid green | Battery charging |
Solid amber | Battery at a very low power level |
Alternating amber and green flashes | Unsupported (non-Dell) battery inserted |
Flashing amber (4x) then a single green flash | Fatal battery failure |
Installing the charger on a wall
The charger comes pre-installed on the wall mount. Use the four screws M4x20 included in the package to mount the charger onto a wall based on the dimensions below.

Removing the mount from the charger
Remove the M2x5 screw from the rear side of the charger, and then remove the mount from the charger.

Product Troubleshooting
NOTE: You can only use the battery charger with batteries
from selected Dell tablets. For a list of supported devices, see
www.dell.com.
Problem: Cannot charge the inserted batteries.
Possible solutions
- Check that the battery is inserted correctly.
- Check that the power adapter is connected properly.
- Try a different power adapter.
Problem: Cannot charge a device connected to the USB-A port.
Possible solutions
- Check that the device is compatible with the charger.
- Check that the device is connected properly.
Problem: The LED indicators are behaving abnormally.
Possible solutions
- Check that the batteries are inserted correctly.
- Check that the power adapter is connected properly.
- Try a different power adapter.
- If the problem persists, contact Dell support.

Setting up the charger

Connect either a 4.5 mm DC-in or USB Type-C power adapter to the corresponding power adapter port on the charger.
NOTE: For the DC-in power adapter port, use either a 45 W or 65 W power adapter. For the USB Type-C power adapter port use either a 45 W, 65 W, or 90 W power adapter. -
Insert a maximum of two tablet batteries with their contacts facing down all the way into the battery compartments until they click into place and the corresponding LED indicator lights up. The battery will take up to two hours to charge depending on its power level.
NOTE: When two batteries are inserted at the same time, the battery in the front compartment (closest to the Dell logo) will charge first. Once the front battery is fully charged, the battery in the rear compartment will begin charging. -
(Optional) Connect a device to the 10 W USB power output port to charge the device.
