Risk of death or serious injury from collisions and falls. To reduce the risk of injury all riders and adults need to read the user manual and follow the instructions.

Please read, study carefully and understand the Ninebot Mecha Kit’s, User Manual, instruction and/or tutorial provided in the app, and any and all prohibitions and warnings in the User Manual, on the labels, on the package and in the app (which may be updated from time to time) before using the product, which will help you to learn and understand how to drive the product safely, properly and responsibly. Although there is no way to eliminate safety risks, it is possible to reduce these risks by abiding to the warnings and precautions provided in the Ninebot Mecha Kit’s User Manual, on the labels, on the package and in the app (which may be updated from time to time). Please read such prohibitions and warnings and the following legal notices carefully. If you ride Ninebot S, Ninebot S-PRO, or Ninebot S Kids without using Mecha Kit’s Frame, please read its applicable User Manual and legal statement.

Pre-Drive Checklist and Preparing for Your Drive:

  1. Read the Instruction Manual of the Ninebot Mecha Kit carefully and watch the instructional video for new users on the app before riding the Mecha. If you are unable to follow the instructions stated in the Instruction Manual of the Ninebot Mecha Kit fully, please refrain from riding the Mecha. You agree that when you ride Mecha, you shall take precautions, use your best judgment, and be a responsible user.
  2. Do not allow anyone to use your Mecha, if the person has not read the Instruction Manual of the Ninebot Mecha Kit and watched the instructional video on the app carefully. It is your responsibility and you agree that you would request every user to read, study and comprehend the User Manual, any instruction and/or tutorial provided in the app, and any and all prohibitions and warnings in the User Manual, on the labels, on the package and in the app (which may be updated from time to time).
  3. Install all parts of the Mecha properly in accordance with the Instruction Manual of the Ninebot Mecha Kit. Improper installation would cause losing control, collision, and/or falling. Turn off the Mecha before installation and maintenance. Install parts by only using an appropriate amount of force. Note that under-screwing or over-screwing will lead to damage or failure of the Mecha. In addition, examine whether the Mecha has been assembled properly and whether the safety straps ARE installed in their proper places. In the event of any abnormalities, shut down the Mecha immediately and contact after-sales service promptly for guidance.
  4. Do not use the Mecha Kit with products that are not provided or recommended by the Segway-Ninebot app or that violate the safety instructions stated in the accompanying documentation provided by Segway or Ninebot.
  5. Prevent young children from accidentally swallowing any removable part that may be contained in the product.
  6. Be familiar with the operation of the Mecha before your drive. The more you practice, the better you would use the product.
  7. Before each drive, check the Mecha carefully to ensure that no part (including the tires) shows any signs of looseness or damage. Make sure that the Mecha is in proper running condition before your drive. If there is any sign indicating that your Mecha is not running properly, please stop your drive immediately.
  8. Do not drive the Mecha if it is damaged, emits odors or smoke, becomes overheated, or has a component that is not performing properly.
  9. Purchase the specified self-balancing vehicle model of Segway or Ninebot, and refer to the accompanying instruction manual for the tire inflation pressure. Check the performance of your tires before each drive, in order to prevent wear and tear on the tires or having the vehicle’s poor condition impacts your drive, which may lead to an accident.
  10. Only use the original parts of the Mecha Kit and ensure the Mecha Kit is compatible with the self-balancing vehicle models specified by the Ninebot. Otherwise, you may not be able to use it properly, and there will be increased safety risks. If any problem occurs, please feel free to contact the after-sales service center, which is the most secure option for you to receive service.

Where to Drive:

  1. Do not immerse the battery and the Mecha in water, expose it to rain or drive it in the rain. It is strictly prohibited to clean the body of the Mecha with a high-pressure water jet in order to prevent the battery compartment, circuit chip, and other parts from getting wet.

  2. Never drive the Mecha during inclement weather, including rain and snow. When not in use, the Mecha should be placed indoors and protected from becoming wet due to severe weather. This should be done to prevent functional damage, fire or even an explosion due to wet batteries. Damages and losses due to water entering the Mecha are not covered by the warranty and compensation scope of Ninebot by Segway.

  3. Do not drive the Mecha at dawn or dusk, at night or in the dark. These circumstances increase the risk of possible accidents. Riding at night is significantly more dangerous than that in the day. It is difficult for riders to be visible to motorists and pedestrians. If you insist on choosing to drive the Mecha at dawn, dusk, or night, be prepared to accept a significant increase in risk.

  4. Mecha is an off-road product. Never on road including but not limited to the highway, public road, at any time. Using and/or riding Mecha may be subject to further restriction and/or limitation by local law.

  5. Drive the Mecha on roads with good conditions and do not drive it on rough roads. Pay attention to the change in terrain,
    e. g., from flat grounds to grasslands.

  6. Refrain from taking risks and be aware of potential hazards and difficult terrains. Never drive on muddy or wet roads. Ensure your safety and do not risk riding on steep slopes, uneven surfaces, or other kinds of terrain that you have not encountered before.

  7. The Mecha is intended for flat, hard surfaces only, especially enclosed roads (e.g., roads in neighborhoods, parks, and special sites). Do not pass through places with obstacles and protrusions and keep vigilant. Slow down when in unfamiliar environments. You shall reduce speed when it is necessary, especially when you need to go backward or turn around.

How to Drive:

  1. Wear protective equipment at all times when you drive the Mecha. Protective equipment includes, but is not limited to, a full-face motorcycle helmet with chin strap, goggles, boots, gloves, long riding pants with hip, and knee pads as well as a long-sleeve riding suit with elbow, chest, and shoulder pads.
  2. Do not wear high heels or loose clothes when riding the Mecha. Never leave the zipper of an article of clothing unfastened and tie up long hair and bangs or loose hair that may affect your field of vision. This is to prevent your clothes or hair from becoming caught in the tires and eliminate possible accidents caused by your insufficient field of vision.
  3. Make yourself and others visible during riding. Do not touch the tires with your hands or feet during your drive.
  4. Do not answer your phone, wear headphones or earbuds, take photos or videos, or do any activities that may distract you during riding. Ensure that you can pay attention to the environment around you.
  5. Keep vigilant when riding. Drive at an appropriate speed that is within your capabilities. Do not perform stunts or accelerate or decelerate suddenly.
  6. Never treat the Mecha as a medical device or use it as a medical assistance tool. You must be physically capable of riding the Mecha without the help of others.
  7. During your drive, please always be ready for the following conditions: children or pets are playing on the roadside; there are potholes, sewer partitions, expansion joints, obstacles, and other issues that may distract you. Whenever possible, pay attention to surroundings to avoid injuries and/or accidents.
  8. It is prohibited to use the Mecha as a cargo carrier.
  9. Do not throw or drop the Mecha or place it in locations exposed to an open flame.
  10. It is prohibited to engage in any unauthorized modification of the Mecha, which may endanger your drive, yourself, other persons and/or property.

Who Should Drive:

  1. The Mecha Kit is complex, so users need to have reasonable and necessary hands-on skills and safety-related common sense. In addition, the Mecha Kit must be used with care. The recommended age range for riding the Mecha is above 14 years old. Users under 14 years of age are strictly prohibited to drive the Mecha. Parents or guardians are responsible for the safety of the users who are minors, and guardians must accompany minors when they drive the Mecha.
  2. The Mecha is similar to other means of a vehicle, so you need to always stay alert during your drive. Riding while fatigued or intoxicated is prohibited. You should not drive the Mecha when you are ill or in a bad mood. Those experiencing difficulties in terms of vision, hearing, use of limbs, speech, or other movements, or with serious heart trouble, hypertension, vertigo, and other disorders that are not suitable for exercise, or taking drugs and alcohol, are strictly prohibited from riding the Mecha.
  3. The Mecha is only for one person to drive. Co-riding with adults or children is prohibited. Pregnant women and individuals weighing over 220 lbs (100 kg) are not permitted to drive the Mecha.
Maintenance and Storage
  1. Install the lithium battery pack in the Mecha Kit as instructed and ensure the battery pack is within the sealed plastic encapsulation and has sufficient power prior to using the Kit. It is prohibited to use third-party batteries or battery packs in the Mecha Kit, which may result in damage to the control panel; never use any third-party chargers to charge the lithium battery, or otherwise, there may be a risk of fire or explosion.
  2. Do not attempt to destroy or disassemble the battery as it contains harmful substances.
  3. Before your drive, ensure the battery can provide sufficient battery to prevent any potential danger caused by the battery being low or dead.
  4. After plugging the charging cable into the correct port (100–240V/50–60Hz), keep the Mecha out of the reach of children and pets and place it in an isolated area away from flammable objects.
  5. Pay attention to different data and parameters associated with different models, which are subject to change without further notice.
  6. Before starting the cleaning process, ensure that both the Mecha Kit and the self-balancing vehicle are turned off. Ensure the Mecha Kit’s battery has been removed from the battery compartment.
  7. Pay attention to the following matters if you drive the Mecha during the summer: store the Mecha in a safe environment with temperatures no higher than 122 °F / 50 °C and avoid having the Mecha exposed to the sun outdoors for a long time.
  8. Pay attention to the following matters if you drive the Mecha in winter: store the Mecha in a safe environment with temperatures no lower than -4 °F / -20 °C. If the storage temperature is below 32 °F / 0 °C, place the Mecha in a warm environment (with the temperature above 50 °F / 10 °C) before charging.

Launcher:

  1. Wear goggles and protective equipment when using the launcher to protect your face, eyes, and other body parts.
  2. Do not launch water bullets at people, animals, or others’ property or direct the ballistic light of the launcher at a person’s eyes.
  3. Never aim water bullets at any person’s head, face, eyes, or other parts of the body.
  4. Observe the surrounding environment before your drive to ensure that the place is wide and open enough for gaming.

Water bullets:

  1. Use original Ninebot water bullets for the Mecha Kit; otherwise, it may cause a malfunction of the launcher.
  2. Be careful as launched water bullets may cause personal injury and property loss.
  3. Have experienced personnel present to instruct or supervise the operation of the Mecha Kit when gaming with water bullets.
  4. Empty water bullets in the bullet case at the end of each drive and ensure that all water bullets inside the launcher have been fired.
  5. Do not put water bullets that swell in water into the mouth, nose, or ears. This may be a choking hazard. Additionally, keep them out of the reach of children and pets to avoid choking, gastrointestinal rupture, or other injuries caused by accidental swallowing or inhalation.
  6. Do not freeze water bullets that have been swollen to prevent them from clogging the launcher or increasing the risk of danger or injury.
  7. Never fire projectiles that are not part of the Mecha Kit, such as pencil tips, nails, and rocks. If such behavior occurs, it should be stopped immediately.

USB charging cable:

  1. The charging cable is only compatible with the rechargeable battery pack of the Mecha Kit.
  2. The charging cable is only compatible with 5V/1–2A USB power adapters. Using other adapters may lead to charging failure, and the charging cable or the battery may be damaged.
  3. The direction of the plug should be correct. Forceful plugging is to be avoided to protect the charging cable or battery from being damaged by the short-circuiting of plug pins.
  4. When not in use, the charging cable should be removed from the power adapter and stored in a cool place that is not exposed to moisture, direct sunlight, etc.
  5. There is a high likelihood of the charging cable being damaged in the following circumstances: the charging cable is connected to the power supply for too long, short-circuiting of metal pins in the plug, a heavy fall, high pressure, etc.

Appendix 1: Steps for swelling water bullets

a. Take out about 900 water bullets (roughly one cap of the water bullet bottle) and pour them into a container such as a water basin.
b. Pour 0.66 US gal of purified water in the basin at room temperature.
c. Soak for over 4 hours.
d. Use water bullet bottles to store and carry soaked water bullets.

  • Due to the varying properties of tap water and mineral water, water bullets may not be soaked to the specified sizes. When the water is not at optimal conditions, please use purified water at room temperature or appropriately extend the soaking time. Water bullets fully soaked should be 7–8 mm in size. When soaking for the first time, you may not be able to determine the exact number of water bullets required. It is recommended to use open containers such as water basins be used for soaking.

Appendix 2: Replacement of adapter pad
The original adapter pad (for Ninebot S) does not apply to Ninebot S Kids. If your product is a Ninebot S Kids, you need to make a replacement using the S Kids adapter pad.
Steps:

a. Unscrew the four screws under the adapter pad with a hex wrench.
b. Replace the S Kids adapter pad, align the holes, and tighten the screws. Note: The strap holes should face forward.

Appendix 3: Troubleshooting for a blocked launch tube
The launch tube may be blocked by water bullet fragments or oversized water bullets, and water bullets cannot be launched. Solution: Remove the remaining water bullets in the bullet case and leave the Mecha Kit to dry for more than 1 day. After the moisture evaporates, water bullets will shrink, which will resolve the issue.

Appendix 4: Replacement of protective cushion
If the protective pads wear out after a period of use, you can replace them by yourself.
Steps:

a. Unscrew the screw under the protective pad with an hex wrench.
b. Align the new protective pad with the holes and tighten the screw.
