What’s in the box?
Installing your filter
Remove the bubble screen (aerator) from the end of your faucet and replace it with the diverter valve of the system. The diverter valve has a rotating collar for ease of installation.
Note the type of threads your faucet has – if it has threads on the OUTSIDE, the diverter should screw right on; if it has threads on the INSIDE. you must use the enclosed adapter ring and gasket. If your faucet has non-standard threads. you may need to purchase a special adapter from your local hardware store. Place the filter unit in a convenient location with the spout positioned over your sink. The spout is designed to swivel. Turn on your cold water and divert the water through the filter by turning the diverter handle.
- Diverter valve may differ from the one shown here.
Allow it to run for several minutes to flush out the normal carbon fines (blackish specs). Initially. the water may contain tiny air bubbles and taste slightly sweet – this is normal and harmless, and will clear up after flushing.
BE SURE TO RUN ONLY COLD WATER THROUGH THE UNIT.
WARNING!
Do not use this filter for water that is microbiologically unsafe or of
unknown quality. All systems are made with the highest quality NSF & FDA
approved high-performance parts
SPECIFICATION
Replacing Your Cartridge
- Turn off the water. Unscrew the housing from its base by turning the housing counter clockwise with the housing wrench. If the housing seems stuck, submerge just the bottom half of the system in a bowl of hot water & vinegar. Leave the system inside the bowl for 5-10 minutes. This will help the calcium around the threads dissolve.
- Once the housing is removed, place it upside down on a flat surface and remove the used cartridge.
- Check the O-ring for wear and tear ( The O-ring rests in a groove inside the housing. near the housing’s threads). If the O-ring is worn out, please replace it. If the O-ring is in good condition, apply a non-toxic lubricant (coconut oil, olive oil) on the o-ring to ensure it lays flat and to prevent leaks.
- Next, replace the multi-media cartridge (cartridge with white cap). Take it out of the box and place the cartridge inside the housing with the side of the cartridge that has the white cap facing up towards you and the open end of the housing.
- Then replace the carbon block. Take it out of the packaging and place it inside the housing. You can place the carbon block on either side, it does not matter. Before screwing the base back on, apply some lubricant on both bases threads. This will make it easier to unscrew the housings next time you have to change your filter.
- Leave the housings on the counter, pick up the base and screw it back on to both hous- ings and tighten the housings to prevent any leaks.
- Run the system for 5-10 minutes to flush any loose particles of carbon. If water does not flow after 1-2 minutes, the cartridge may have been installed incorrectly. Simply open the housing with the multi-media cartridge and reverse the position of the cartridge.Replace your water filter cartridge every 6 to 8 months for optimum performance
