- Whether there is good contact at the charging contacts.
- If the battery pack still fails to charge, send the charging unit and the battery pack to our customer service center.
To ensure that the battery pack provides long service, you should take care to
recharge it promptly. You must recharge the battery pack when you notice that
the performance of the device drops.
Never allow the battery pack to become fully discharged. This will cause it to
fail.
MOW WITH THE GRASS CATCHER
WARNING: Release the ON/OFF handle, remove the safety key, and make sure the blade has come to a complete stop before making any adjustments.
WARNING: Never operate the mower unless the grass bag is firmly seated on the mower.
CAUTION: Under normal usage, bag material is subject to wear. To reduce the risk of injury, frequently inspect the bag assembly and replace if there are any signs of wear or deterioration. Use only grass catcher manufactured for this mower.
- Release the ON/OFF handle. Remove the safety key.
- Lift the rear cover and install the grass catcher on mower. Make sure it is firmly hitched into the slots on both sides.
GRASS CATCHER FULL INDICATOR
There is a level indicator on the top of the grass catcher that shows
whether the catcher is empty or full:
- The level indicator inflates if the catcher is not full during operation.
- If the catcher is full, the indicator collapses; once this happens stop moving immediately and empty the catcher, make sure it is clean and ensure its meshwork is ventilated.
IMPORTANT: If the position of indicator opening is very dirty, the indicator will not inflate. In this case, clean the position of indicator opening immediately.
TIPS FOR MOWING:
- Regular cut-back by a maximum of 0.8 in. (2 cm) from grass that is 1.5 to 2.5 in. (4-6 cm) tall.
- Make sure blade is sharp
- Do not mow wet grass
- Run motor at maximum speed
- Only mow at walking pace
- Regularly clean inner housing side, and mowing blade
Operation
WARNING: The safety key is an important safety device. Do not attempt to
bypass its operation.
To prevent accidential start-up or unauthorized access, the safety key must be
inserted before the mower can be started.
The mower will be completely disabled when the safety key has been removed
from the mower.
DANGER: Rotating blades can cause serious injury. Remove safety key when unattended, cleaning, servicing, transporting, lifting, or stowing the mower.
DANGER: Do not use this mower without either the grass catcher or mulch
insert installed.
Safety Precautions
- Always operate with the grass catcher in the correct position.
- Always stop the motor before removing the grass catcher or adjusting the height of cutting position.
- Before mowing, remove all foreign objects from the lawn which may be thrown by the machine. While mowing, stay alert for any foreign objects which may have been missed.
- Never lift the rear of the mower while starting the motor or during normal operation.
- Never place your hands or feel underneath the under pan or into the rear discharge chute while the motor is running.
STARTING THE MOWER
DANGER: Do not use this mower without the grass catcher installed.
- Install the battery and insert the safety key.
- Push and hold the safety lock button while pulling the ON/OFF handle toward you. Once the mower is running, release the safety lock button.
- To turn the mower OFF, release the ON/OFF handle.
WARNING: If you strike a foreign object, stop the motor. Remove the safety key, thoroughly inspect the mower for any damage and repair the damage before restarting and operating the mower. Extensive vibration of the mower during operation is an indication of damage. The unit should be promptly inspected and repaired.
- Clear lawn of debris. Be sure that the lawn is clear of stones, sticks, wire or other foreign objects which could be accidentally thrown out by the mower in any direction and cause serious personal injury to the operator and others as well as damage to property and surrounding objects.
- Do not cut wet grass. For effective mowing do not cut wet grass because it tends to stick to the underside of the deck preventing proper mowing of the grass clippings.
- Cut no more than 1/3 the length of the grass. The recommended cut for mowing is 1/3 the length of the grass.
- When mowing long grass you may have to cut the lawn in two passes, lowering the blade another 1/3 of the length for the second cut and perhaps cutting in a different pattern than was used the first time. Overlapping the cut a little on each pass will also help to clean up any stray clippings left on the lawn.
- Clean underside of deck. Be certain to clean the underside of the cutting deck after each use to avoid a build-up of grass, which would prevent proper mulching. Mowing leaves.
- The mowing of leaves can also be beneficial to your lawn. When mowing leaves make sure they are dry and are not laying too thick on the lawn. Do not wait for all the leaves to be off the trees before you mow.
Maintenance
