Pipette Controller
Quick Start Guide
- Speed Adjustment Dial: This dial is used to adjust the overall rate of aspiration and dispensing. To slow the rate, rotate the dial towards the minus icon. To increase the rate, rotate the dial towards the plus icon.
- Silicone Adaptor: This is an interior silicone pipette adaptor that accepts serological pipettes.
- Nose Cone: This is the visible outer nose cone that accepts serological pipettes.
- Operating Triggers: These are analog triggers used to aspirate and dispense liquid. The rate of aspiration can be controlled by the extent of force applied to each trigger.
- Inline Filter: This is a filter placed just above the nose cone, located internally between the pipette controller components and silicone adaptor.
Operating Instructions
- Important: The pipette controller cannot be operated without the internal filter in place. During operation, do not overfill the serological pipette beyond its maximum level as this may contaminate the pipette controller and the internal filter. If overfilling occurs, change the internal filter immediately and clean any potentially contaminated components, including the silicone adaptor. Only use filters provided by Globe Scientific.
- Do not use a different adaptor as it may cause damage to the unit or even create a fire or explosion hazard.
- To adjust the speed, use the speed adjustment dial. Rotate the dial towards the minus icon to slow the rate, and rotate the dial towards the plus icon to increase the rate.
- When inserting the serological pipette, be careful not to use excessive force as this may damage the silicone insert located in the nose cone.
- The rate can be controlled using both the speed adjustment dial and varying pressure on the triggers. In addition to using the dispense trigger, fine control dispensing can be performed by using the effect of gravity.
- Do not use the pipette controller with hazardous and inflammable substances.
Charging the Unit
- Use only the power adaptor supplied with the unit. Using a different adaptor may cause damage to the unit or even create a fire or explosion hazard.
- The pipette controller can be charged by plugging the power adaptor directly into the unit, or by using the charging stand in conjunction with the power adaptor
- The unit may be used while charging.
Speed Adjustment
- Overall aspiration and dispensing speed can be controlled by adjusting the speed adjustment dial. Rotate the dial towards the minus icon to slow the rate, and rotate the dial towards the plus icon to increase the rate.
- Fine speed control can be achieved by using varying pressure on the operating triggers.
Fit the Pipette
Gently insert a serological pipette into the silicone adaptor located in the
nose cone. Do not use excessive force as this may damage the silicone insert
Aspiration / Dispensing
Aspirate or dispense using the appropriate triggers. The desired rate can be
controlled using both the speed adjustment dial and varying pressure on the
triggers (see: Speed Adjustment). In addition to using the dispense trigger,
fine control dispensing can be performed by using the effect of gravity.
