Satisfaction Plus Fuzz Pedal

electro-harmonix Satisfaction Plus Fuzz Pedal-
product

Product Information

The Satisfaction Plus is a modernized vintage fuzz pedal that offers expanded classic fuzz sounds of the 1960s. It comes in acompact chassis and features a Bias control for wilder tones, a Fat switch for a broader sound, and a versatile tone knob for more sonic sculpting. The pedal has an ATTACK knob that controls the amount of input gain and distortion, and a BIAS knob that controls the signal bias going into the first transistor stage. It has an audio input impedance of 50k, an audio output impedance of 100, and draws a current of 5mA. The pedal requires a 9VDC power supply with center-negative polarity. The Satisfaction Plus has true bypass switching and can be powered with an Electro-Harmonix 9.6DC-200, MOP-D10, or S8 power supply. Using the wrong adapter or a plug with the wrong polarity may damage the device and void the warranty. The power supply should not exceed 18VDC, and power supplies rated for less than 10mA can cause the device to act unreliable. The pedal comes with a warranty that gives the purchaser specific legal rights.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Connect your guitar to the INPUT jack of the Satisfaction Plus and the AMP jack to your amp’s input.

Modernized Vintage Fuzz

Congratulations on your purchase of the Satisfaction Plus, an expanded take on the classic fuzz sounds of the 1960s. Still in a compact chassis, the Satisfaction Plus adds a Bias control for wilder tones, a Fat switch for a broader sound, and a versatile tone knob for more sonic sculpting.

Operating Instructions

Connect your guitar to the INPUT jack of the Satisfaction Plus and the AMP jack to your amp’s input. Press the footswitch to ensure the LED is lit. Your Satisfaction Plus is now ready to play.
A good starting point is to turn all knobs to their 12’oclock positions, then set the toggle switch to NORM for the classic bright fuzz-tone, or to FAT for a fuller sound.

POWER SUPPY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Voltage: 9VDC
  • Current: 5mA
  • Polarity: Center-Negative
  • Battery: 9V

This device may be powered with an Electro-Harmonix 9.6DC-200, MOP-D10, or S8 power supply. Use of the wrong adapter or a plug with the wrong polarity may damage the device and void the warranty. Do not exceed 18VDC on the power plug. Power supplies rated for less than 10mA can cause the device to act unreliably.

Controls and Connections

  1. ATTACK Knob Controls the amount of input gain and distortion. As you turn this knob clockwise, the Satisfaction Plus ranges from mild drive to saturated fuzz.
  2. BIAS Knob Controls the signal bias going into the first transistor stage of the Satisfaction Plus. The least compressed and open sound is with BIAS set to noon, which matches the original Satisfaction pedal. Turn the knob counterclockwise for choked or gated fuzz, turn it clockwise for a hollowed-out sound.
  3. TONE Knob Controls an active tilt-shift type EQ to further shape the fuzz tone. When the TONE knob is at noon the EQ is flat, match-ing the original Satisfaction pedal. Turn the TONE knob counter-clockwise for more lows and less highs. Turn it clockwise for more highs and rolled back lows.
  4. VOL Knob Sets the output level of the Satisfaction Plus.
  5. FAT/NORM switch In the NORM position, the Satisfaction Plus has the same overall circuitry as the original Satisfaction pedal. Push the switch to FAT for a bigger, bassier fuzz sound that still cuts through a mix.
  6. FOOTSWITCH and STATUS LED The footswitch engages or bypasses the effect. The status LED lights when the effect is engaged. The LED is off in bypass mode. The Satisfaction Plus employs True Bypass.
  7. INPUT Jack Audio input to the Satisfaction Plus.
  8. AMP Jack Audio output from the Satisfaction Plus.
  9. 9V Power Jack An optional 9VDC, center-negative power supply can be connected to the power jack to provide power without a battery. The Satisfaction Plus requires 5mA at 9VDC on a center-negative plug. Do not exceed 18VDC at the power jack.electro-harmonix Satisfaction Plus Fuzz Pedal-fig-1

When using a 9V battery, plugging into the INPUT jack activates power. The input cable should be removed when the unit is not in use to avoid running down the battery.
To change the 9-volt battery, you must remove the 4 screws on the bottom of the pedal. Once the screws are removed, you can take off the bottom plate and change the battery. Please do not touch the circuit board while the bottom plate is off or you risk damaging a component.

Notes and Specifications

  • Audio input impedance at INPUT jack: 50kΩ
  • Audio output impedance at OUTPUT jack: 100Ω
  • Current draw: 5mA
  • Power Supply: 9VDC, Center-negative polarity
  • True bypass switching
