INSTRUCTIONS

SmartKitchen Waste Scale, check every six months

We recommend that the following checks and cleanings are performed on the Waste Scale at least every 6 months:

  1. Visually inspect the device:
    • Are there flattenings, scratches, etc. visible defects in the cables or power sources?
    • Does the scale’s LED light come on when the power cord is connected?
    • Check that the screws and feet of the scale are not loose.
  2. Clean the scale and tablet holder.
    • Clean the scale and tablet holder with a damp cleaning cloth moistened with water and a suitable detergent.
  3. Check if you are using the latest version of the application:
    • WasteScale or PlateWaste, depending on which one you use.
    • Check the version date in the settings of the WasteScale or PlateWaste application.
    • The tablet’s home page has a link to the application update pages, check there what is the date of the latest version.
    • If you are not using the latest version, please update the app.
  4. Test your scale with a known weight
  • Place an object whose exact weight you know on the scale. The weight should be at least 10% of the maximum weight of the scale. The weight used on a 35 kg scale must be at least 3.5 kg and on a 150 kg scale at least 15 kg.
  • See if the scale shows the correct weight accurately enough.
  • If there is a slight difference (hundreds of grams), perform the calibration according to the WasteScale user manual.
  • If the difference is significant (several kilograms), the scale is obviously faulty. Contact the equipment supplier and ask for additional instructions.

Possible detected faults

  • If you notice a technical fault in the scale or it works incorrectly, contact the equipment supplier directly. More detailed instructions can be found in the” Technical problem situations” manual.
