  • The size of the room
  • The room temperature
  • The relative humidity
  • Room insulation

Consumption values may vary depending on the relative humidity in the room of operation.

  • 30W Consumption during the fan operation.

The fan only operation is a function that cannot be manually selected. It is automatically selected when the moisture content in the room is lower than that set by the HUMIDITY button.

When Low Fan Speed is set, the consumption can reach a maximum of 350W. When the High Fan Speed is set, the consumption may reach a maximum of 620W. The deviation rate of the above values is +/- 5%

  • Desiccant dehumidifiers, operate without the use of compressor, which is considered cutting edge Japanese technology for greater efficiency at lower room
temperatures. Including an absorbent Desiccant dehumidifying wheel, that reduces

CHECK LED INDICATOR

Blinks when the dehumidifier detects an error. In most cases it illuminates because the air inlet is blocked, which results in the interior of the dehumidifier being overheated. Clean the filter, make sure the dehumidifier is not next to a heat source or is covered, and restart the dehumidifier after 10 minutes.

FULL LED INDICATOR

Blinks when the water tank is full and you need to empty it or when the tank is not properly installed.

Humidity Indications:
The room humidity display and humidity settings are displayed with single or two LEDs, e.g. When both 40% and 50% LEDS are illuminated it means 45%.

Tank LED Light
There is further a 3-level LED light through the tank window for easier monitiring the indoor humidity. Green light represents humidity under 50%, blue light represents 50-65% and red light represents humidity above 65%. You can turn off or retrieve the light by pressing and then releasing at the same time both MODE and HUMIDITY buttons.

IconNote: If the unit malfunctions, an alarm system will activate and the unit will automatically shut down. Internal Over Heating Protections: During operation, malfunctions may occur if the air intake or the air outlet are obstructed or blocked by objects. This can cause high internal temperatures and the appliance will automatically shut down. In this situation the dehumidifier will set off automatically.

Tipping Protection : The unit has a heater inside, to avoid overheating, the unit is equipped with a tipping switch that  automatically shuts down the device in the event the unit tips over.

SMART SAVE ENERGY MODE

When the unit drops the humidity level to the level the user set, the unit stops dehumidifying and the fan continues to operate for the next 2 minutes (for internal cooling). The unit stops and gets into smart save energy mode in which it won’t operate for the next 30 minutes. After 30 minutes the fan will start to operate for 5 minutes checking the humidity level of the room. If the humidity level is 5% higher than the humidity level the user set then it will start to dehumidify. If not it will get in a pause of another 30 minutes.

WATER TANK & DRAIN HOSE

There are two ways to remove collected water.

Using the water bucket
When the water tank is full, the water full indicator will blink.

  • Slowly remove the bucket. Grip the handle with caution, and carefully pull outwards so the water does not overflow. Do not place the tank on the floor because the bottom of the tank is uneven. Doing so the tank will fall and the water will be spilled on the floor.
  • Empty the water from the tank and place it again in to the device. The water tank, must be securely and properly placed, for the dehumidifier to operate.
  • When the water tank is re-installed the unit will automatically restart.

F.A.Q. & TROUBLE SHOOTING

Does the Zeolite need replacing?

No there is no need for replacement. The Zeolite is regenerated within the dehumidifier and this will last for many years.

Are dehumidifiers expensive to run?

For the first month upon its initial operation, the dehumidifier operates at its maximum in order to calibrate in its working environment. As time passes, this will gradually reduce, since the dehumidifier will be controlled via its humidistat. In regards to damp houses, the use of a dehumidifier may lower your central billing costs significantly.

Do desiccant dehumidifiers generate an unpleasant smell?

During the first days of usage and periodically afterwards you might notice a smell coming from the dehumidifier. This is caused by the Zeolite desiccant material and it is not a sign that the dehumidifier is not working properly nor that it is harmful to humans or pets. The smell occurs because the Zeolite absorbs odors from items like cigarettes, cosmetics, hair sprays, building materials and new furniture, and as the desiccant is heated the smell is discharged into the room. You can clear it by running the dehumidifier in a separate space like a garage or – if it is dry – outside.

Where would it be better to place the dehumidifier?

For optimal results, it is suggested to place the dehumidifier in a central area, like a hallway. Leave the doors open and the moisture will migrate naturally towards the device to be processed.

Can we replace the 2nd filter with another type of filter ?

Yes, the filter can be replaced with HEPA-CARBON filter named PDD HEPA-CARBON and with CARBON filter named PDD CARBON.

Which is the most suitable humidity level ?

The suggested humidity range fluctuates between 50% and 60%. This level of an average humidity ensures the greatest comfort for you and your family, preventing allergies or diseases, and keeps your home healthy and well maintained, in terms of plasterboards, dye exfoliation, wood furniture and any other equipment or material that is susceptible to the harmful consequences of extremely high humidity conditions.

Why is there still condensation on the windows, even with the use of the dehumidifier?

When the room reaches the preferred humidity level, there is a possibility of humidity appearance on windows. This happens due to the temperature difference of the room’s and external ambient temperature. Keep running the dehumidifier and when the air temperature outside increases the windows should be clear of condensation

The dehumidifier is not a heating device. What could be the cause of warm air being extracted?

The desiccant dehumidifiers PDD Famous Series, operate with an electrical resistance that warms up the desiccant material. As a result, the temperature of the outgoing air has been increased to 10-12°C comparing to the room’s temperature. This doesn’t denote in any case that this device can be used as a heating appliance.

The full led indicator is on but the water tank isn’t full. What could be the cause of it?

Make sure that the up side of the water tank is right placed to allow the pulsating movement of the float. Also check that the float and the magnet are on their positions.

The unit does not start

Make sure the dehumidifier’s plug is placed completely into the socket. Check the house fuse/ circuit breaker box. Check whether the power cord is damaged. Check the water bucket, if it is full and empty it. Check if the dehumidifier has reached its preset level. Make sure the water bucket is positioned properly. Room temperature is lower or higher than the advised operational range. Check whether the humidity level has been set in high levels.

Dehumidifier does not dry the air as efficient

Make sure that the dehumidifier has been operating enough time to remove the moisture. Make sure there are no curtains, blinds or furniture blocking the front or back of the dehumidifier. The humidity selector may not be set low enough. Make sure you have cleaned the filter as suggested. Clogged filter may result in reduced performance. All house exits (windows doors etc) where the dehumidifier is operating, should be closed. Room temperature is below the advised operational range. There is a kerosene heater or something giving off water vapor in the room. The room that the device is placed is bigger than suggested. The humidity level is too high.

The unit makes a loud noise when operating

The air filter is clogged. The device is tilted instead of being in an upright position. The floor surface is not flat.

During the use of the drain hose, you may find water inside the water tank

Check that the drain hose has been correctly placed. The drain hose has been blocked or damaged.

NOTE: All the pictures in the manual are for explanatory purposes only. The actual shape of the unit you purchased may be slightly different, but the operations and functions are the same.
