Imported Leather
Leather is a natural material, which will result in non-erasable pollution,
etc. for all kinds of circumstances in use, therefore:
- If your mobile phone gets wet accidentally, dry it using an absorbent soft cloth as soon as possible.
- It shall be avoided to exposure in a strong-light and high-temperature humid environment, in order to avoid contact with objects and materials which may pollute or scratch the surface.
- Vertu suggests keeping your mobile phone in the mobile phone bag when not in use.
Leather
All leathers used by Vertu craftsmen are unique, and the natural stripe on the
leather is deemed to be one of the individual characteristics of high-quality
leather. All leather sheaths are liable to damage, so they should be properly
maintained.
The following circumstances shall be avoided:
- Exposure to water and humid environment.
- Contact, friction or strike with the surface of a hard object.
- Exposure to extreme temperature environment.
- Exposure to oils, cosmetics, and solvents.
Non-precious Metal
Vertu’s metal part is manufactured per high standards and must be properly
maintained to protect its appearance. The following circumstances shall be
avoided:
- Exposure to chemicals, such as solvents, alkaline and acid solutions, carbonated beverages, and saline water. In case of accidental contact, wipe in time with a clean soft cloth.
- Contact with sharp objects.
- Falling or hitting against the surface of a hard object. Metal polishing.
- Metal polishing.
Precious Metal
The synthetic material of precious metals, such as gold and platinum, has a
lower hardness, therefore, you must be extremely careful when treating Vertu
products containing such materials.
Gems
Gems are quite hard and durable, but they still can be damaged if not handled
properly. For example:
- A sharp impact on a hard surface can break the gem or damage the setting, thereby causing the gem to become a loose stone or to disengage.
- It shall be handled with great care while in contact with diamond rings, diamond earrings, and other jewelry, as they will cause the diamond or the setting to break or damage.
- Do not allow silk thread (especially artificial silk thread) to entangle the setting. It may cause the setting to bend and the diamond to become loose.
- It is recommended to put your Vertu mobile phone in the leather cover when it is not used, especially when it is put in a handbag or other luggage.
Sapphire and Ceramics
Sapphire and ceramics are very hard, but they are fragile and easily scratched
by other hard materials or objects. They may be damaged after falling. Please
avoid:
- Contacting with hard materials, such as diamond jewelry, nail files, abrasives and mineral crystals.
- Falling on or colliding with the surface of hard materials.
- Repeated friction with the surface of hard materials.
SECURITY AND ASSURANCE
Security Text
The sales package may include multiple kinds of different products and parts
(hereinafter jointly referred to as “product”), for example, mobile phone with
various chargers. The following suggested guiding principles can apply to all
products and parts.
Operation against the guiding principles may result in personal security and
data problems, cause damage to the product, and may also violate relevant laws
and regulations.
Medical Precautions
Operation of any radio transmission device (including radio-telephone) may
cause interference to the function of the medical devices without an
appropriate protection mechanism. If you cannot determine whether the medical
device is provided with an appropriate external radio frequency energy
protection mechanism, please consult a doctor or medical device manufacturer.
The medical device manufacturer suggests that a distance of 15.3 cm (6 inches)
shall be kept between the wireless device and medical transplant device (for
example, a pacemaker or transplantation defibrillator). The personnel using
such devices shall also pay attention to the followings:
- Never put the mobile phone into the bag on the chest.
- Put the mobile phone beside the ear on the other side of the medical device.
- In case of suspected interference, turn off the mobile phone at once.
- Comply with instructions from the medical transplant device manufacturer.
If you have any doubt about the use of a wireless device together with the
medical transplant device, please consult the healthcare provider.
Avoid damage to hearing, and never use high volume for a long time. When using
an earphone, your ability to listen to outside sounds may be affected.
Please don’t use earphones where damage may be caused to your personal
security. Use medium volume when using earphones, and never put the device
near the ear when using the speaker.
The Mobile Phone Shall Be Turned Off in Restricted Areas or Dangerous
Areas
In cases where the mobile phone is not allowed or interference or danger may
be caused, turn off the mobile phone in places that are near to the medical
device, fuel, chemicals, or explosion areas.
Use of Flight Mode in a Travel
Unless otherwise expressly stated to turn off your mobile phone, you may
select the flight (offline) mode, i.e., you cannot make or answer a call, or
use other functions covered by cellular networks, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. However,
you can still make an emergency call.
Use in a Car
The radio signal may affect the electronic system installed improperly or
shielded poorly in a car, for example, the electronic fuel injection system,
electronic anti-lock braking system, electronic speed control system, and
airbag system. For more information, please consult the local automobile or
device manufacturers.
Only qualified service personnel can install mobile phones in automobiles.
Improper installation or maintenance may cause damage to the device and may
cause warranty failure. Regularly check whether all wireless devices in the
automobile are installed and operated properly. Never store the mobile phone
and other parts or accessories with combustible liquid, gas or inflammable and
explosive articles in the same cargo space. Please note that the airbag will
generate great pressure in expansion, therefore, never put the mobile phone or
accessory near the airbag.
Keep Children out of the Product
Please keep the product and all parts and accessories out of reach of children
and pets. Otherwise, they may get hurt, and make your warranty invalid.
Traffic Safety First
Please follow all local laws. Both hands shall always remain free in driving,
in order to operate the vehicle. Road safety shall be considered firstly.
Magnetic Field
Please place your mobile phone away from the magnet or magnetic field.
Backup
To ensure the safety of data, please store them in two separate positions,
such as mobile phones or PC. It’s particularly important that you make a
backup before repairing or changing the product, as these contents and data
may be lost during this operation.
Battery, Charger, and Other Accessories
The product has a built-in battery, the battery is rechargeable, but cannot be
demounted. Never try to demount the battery, otherwise, damage may be caused.
After two to three complete charging and discharging cycles, the new battery
can reach maximum efficiency. The battery in the device can be charged and
discharged for hundreds of times, but it will be drained up at last. If you
think the performance of the device has degraded (for example, the call and
stand-by durations of the mobile phone are obviously lower than the normal
level), please replace it with the original battery authenticated by Vertu (if
the battery can be removed) or deliver the associated device to the nearest
service company authorized by Vertu (if the battery cannot be removed).
The battery must be used according to its predetermined purpose. Never use any
damaged charger or battery. Only use Vertu authenticated battery, and only use
Vertu authenticated charger designated for the device for charging.
If the unauthenticated battery or charger is used, fire, explosion, leakage,
or other dangers may be caused. Please do not connect other incompatible
devices to the charger.
In case of not using a charger, please pull it out of the power plug or other
devices. Please do not connect the fully charged battery to the charger,
because overcharging may shorten the battery life and result in other safety
problems.
Do not change, or transform the battery, do not try to insert foreign objects
into the battery, and do not immerse or expose it to water or other liquids.
Improper use of batteries may result in fire, explosion, or other dangers. If
the device or battery drops (particularly drops onto a hard surface), and you
are sure that the battery has been damaged, please deliver it to the nearest
service company authorized by Vertu for inspection, and then continue to use.
If the battery of the mobile phone has been unused for a long time, recharging
shall be made and you may need to connect a charger; then disconnect, and
later reconnect. If the battery is fully discharged, wait for several minutes
before you can make a call.
Please Keep Device Dry

Mobile phone’s OS and Software Service Statement
The Vertu service on the mobile phone can send the latest information to the
Vertu mobile phone by virtue of data connection. In case of failing to create
a connection, these functions will be unavailable or restricted for use. You
need to contact your network device service provider and consult the
information about its usage in the local network and the availability of data
connection when roaming in other networks.
Some applications in the mobile phone (including the aforesaid procedures) may
be automatically connected to the Internet.
The automatic connection must be restrained by selecting proper connection
setting for the mobile phone or prohibiting these services in roaming.
Vertu will not be liable for any loss caused by improper use of the
communication hardware or software that is not designated by Vertu, or for any
security threat arising from customizing OS updates. Any attempt to customize
the OS may cause the device or application to fail to work properly.
Vertu will provide no warranty or technical support of any kind for the
information, materials, documents, third-party software or other products and
services obtained through the mobile phone, and will not be liable for the use
of such information, materials, documents or other products and services by
the user.
Modifying the mobile phone OS, installing third-party mobile phone ROM, or
downloading, uploading and installing third-party software programs other than
those designated by Vertu may result in security threats, performance failure,
loss of user data, unavailability of applications and other exceptions of
mobile phone, and such operations will cause the mobile phone to lose its
warranty qualification.
Before installing the update, please ensure that the mobile phone can be
connected to the Internet and is sufficiently charged (or connected with the
charger before updating). The use of a certificate can greatly reduce risks
during remote connection and software installation. To obtain enhanced
security, the certificate must be used properly and must be effective or
trusted. The validity of the certificate is limited. If the certificate
expires or is invalid, please inspect whether the system date and time of the
device are correct. Before changing the setting of any certificate, you must
trust the certificate holder, and make sure that the certificate belongs to
all listed persons.
Networking support is required to display whether the transmitted message is
received or read. But such message may be unreliable.
Only the compatible device can receive and display the multimedia message. If
your file inserted into the multi-media message is too large and goes beyond
the network range, the mobile phone may automatically shorten the program.
The message is displayed in different devices in varying ways. If your mobile
phone can keep in sync with Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync server in a
wireless way, you have no right to enjoy or obtain the right with respect to
any server software or server device accessed by the mobile phone or use any
Microsoft intellectual properties relating to server device or relating to
Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync except for the mobile phone.
The buffer memory is used for storing data on mobile phones temporarily. If
you attempt to access or have accessed confidential information or security
service needing passwords, please clear the buffer memory upon every use.
The following factors have an influence on the availability and quality of the
GPS signal: your location, satellite location, building, natural obstacle,
weather conditions, and adjustments on the GPS satellite regulated by the U.S.
government. The GPS signal cannot be obtained in the building or underground.
The precise position is not measured using GPS, so please do not depend on
position information provided by GPS and the cellular network.
The coordinate information is not available to all regions. In case of
adjusting the position via the network and GPS, the position information can
be attached to the images or video clips. If your shared images or video
clips are attached with the position information, anyone who views the images
or video short clips may see this position information. You can close the
geological label in-camera setting.
Part of position contents is generated by the third party rather than Vertu. A
part of the contents may be inaccurate and can be only used locally. Almost
all digital maps are inaccurate or incomplete to some extent. Don’t rely
entirely on the map downloaded into the device.
As a third-party service, Vertu does not provide such social networking
service. Not all of countries/regions provide such a service.
Please check the security settings of the used social networking service,
because you may share your position and information with many persons. The
terms of use are applicable to the information in the shared service, so you
shall be familiar with them as well as service confidentiality practices.
All contents protected by digital rights management (DRM) are attached with the relevant permits which specify your right to use such contents. Some permits may require the connection to the special SIM card and can access the protected contents only after the SIM card is inserted into the mobile phone.
