Product Information
The Kensington dock is a device that allows you to connect multiple accessories to your laptop. It has two USB-A 3.2 Gen2 10 Gaps (5V/0.9A) ports for connecting accessories such as keyboards, mice, USB drives, cameras, and printers. It also has one USB-C 3.2 Gen2 10Gbps (5V/0.9A) port that can be used to connect devices such as external hard drives, your laptop’s power adapter, or an optional 100W USB-C Power Adapter. The dock has two HDMI ports and an Ethernet port (10/100/1000Mbps). It also features a Qi charging pad that can charge compatible devices up to 10W.
The dock supports video specs with one monitor, including HBR2: 4K @ 30Hz,
HBR3: 4K @ 60Hz, and HBR3, HBR3+DSC1.2: 4K @ 60Hz. With
two monitors, it supports HBR2: 1080p @60Hz, HBR3: 1440p @ 60Hz, and
HBR3+DSC1.2: 4K @ 60Hz.
Product Usage Instructions
- Connect the dock to your laptop using the included USB-C cable. Make sure that the Kensington logo and Qi charging pad are facing upward. Your laptop USB-C port should support Alt Mode and Power Delivery.
- The front of the dock has two USB-A ports and one USB-C port. The USB-A ports can be used to connect accessories such as keyboards, mice, USB drives, cameras, and printers. The USB-C port can be used to connect devices such as external hard drives, your laptop’s power adapter, or an optional 100W USB-C Power Adapter. The minimum of 85W Power Delivery is required from your USB-C adapter. The dock indicator light and the Qi charging indicator light are also present on the front of the dock.
- The back of the dock has two HDMI ports and an Ethernet port (10/100/1000Mbps).
- To use the Qi charging pad, make sure that the toggle switch is in the right position. Connect a power adapter to the dock to enable Qi charging and connected devices simultaneously. Place the device to be charged face up on the Qi charging pad so that the device indicates that it is charging. The Qi charging indicator light will remain on. If the Qi charging indicator light is flashing, check your device to ensure that it is aligned correctly for Qi charging.
- To use devices connected to the dock, make sure that the toggle switch is in the left position. The dock indicator light will illuminate.
- If the Qi charging indicator light is flashing, check your device to ensure that it is aligned correctly for Qi charging. The phone should be positioned at the center of the Qi charging pad to the left of the Kensington logo, or it will not charge properly. If your phone has a case, the case thickness must be less than 3mm for Qi charging.
- Avoid placing metal objects, such as coins, keys, watches, or batteries on the Qi charging pad. If a non-compatible metal object sits on the Qi charging pad, a warning light will flash. Placing credit cards on the pad should also be avoided.
- The USB-C host cable can be plugged into a magnetic slot on the side of the dock for cable management during transport.
