Meet Amazon Astra
Find a home for the charger
STEP 1
Place the charger on a flat surface against a wall and near a power outlet.
Make sure the area surrounding the charger is clear of small items and
furniture.
STEP 2
Plug one end of the power cable into the back of the charger, then the other
end into the outlet.
STEP 3
Place Astro in front of the charger, facing away from the wall. Use the white
areas of Astro to gently roll it backwards onto the charger until it settles
onto the charging contacts. The Amazon Smile logo wilt appear on-screen as
Astro powers up. In case it does not power on, make sure Astro is on the
charging contacts before pressing and holding the mies/cameras button.
Get Astra ready to roll
PAIRING ASTRO WITH THE APP AFTER SETUP
If you didn’t pair Astro with your mobile device during setup. you can do so
at any time. Download the Astro app from the app store on your mobile device
and log in with your Amazon account. Then, simply follow the on-screen
instructions.
STEP 1
Make sure you have the login info ready for your wifi network and Amazon
account.
STEP 2
Follow the on-screen instructions. You’ll start by introducing Astro to
yourself and the people who spend the most time in your home. Then, you’ll
pair Astro with the app and spend about 45 minutes helping it learn about your
home.
TIP
If you need to pause setup, make sure to roll Astro back onto the charger
before you leave.

Astro doesn’t begin sending audio to the cloud until it detects the wake word.

Learn how Astro protects your privacy
Amazon designs devices with multiple layers of privacy protection.
Here are some ways to control your privacy on Astro. TURN OFF MICS, CAMERAS,
AND MOTION
When you press the microphones/ cameras off button, the microphones, bezel and
periscope cameras. and navigation and depth sensors are turned off. Astro
can’t move or capture audio or video until you press the button again.
DELETE VOICE RECORDINGS
You can delete voice recordings, manage the map of your home, and customize
your home monitoring preferences in the Astro app. To learn more, go
to Settings.
CREATE OUT OF BOUNDS ZONES
You can create out of bounds zones on the map in the Astro app to let Astro
know where it’s not allowed to go.
