ATS MACHINE SAFETY MG-3 Ram Mount Milling Machine Guard
Product Information
The Ram Mount Milling Machine Guard, Part # MG-3, is a popular milling machine guard that comes with an optional safety switch/interlock. It can be added at a later date as well. The guard bolts directly to the existing threaded hole (lifting point) on the ram, eliminating the need to drill into the machine for installation.
When ordering, the manufacturer will ask for the brand of your machine or 2 measurements so that they can supply you with the correct hardware and arms. The guard has a horizontal mounting rail and an adjustable bracket that allows re-positioning if tilting the head over at an angle. The included upper bracket allows the digital readout to be relocated.
The MG-3 comes with the curved lexan shield, RMS-1, and an optional flat shield is available for situations where the curved shield is not possible, such as when using a rotary indexer or tilting the head at an angle. Custom shields are also available.
Product Usage
- Determine the brand of your machine or take 2 measurements as requested by the manufacturer when ordering.
- Bolt the Ram Mount Milling Machine Guard to the existing threaded hole (lifting point) on the ram using the supplied hardware and arms.
- Adjust the guard’s horizontal mounting rail and bracket to ensure proper positioning if tilting the head over at an angle.
- If necessary, relocate the digital readout using the included upper bracket.
- Use the curved lexan shield, RMS-1, for standard milling operations. Use the optional flat shield for situations where them curved shield is not possible.
- For custom shield options, contact the manufacturer.
- Optional safety switch/interlock can be added at a later date if desired.
