ADJUSTMENTS

The Atom Grip adjustment handle can be used to achieve 25° tilt and 360° rotation of the hanging projector. To operate the Atom Grip Adjustments follow these instructions:

rigtec-AG02-A-Atom-Grip-FIG-2

  1. Rotate the Adjustment Handle anti-clockwise to untighten the Atom Grip ball joint.
  2. The Atom Grip Base and attached projector can now be tilted and rotated to the required angle and position.
  3. Once the projector is in the required position, rotate the Adjustment Handle clockwise to tighten the Atom Grip ball joint.
  4. The adjustment will now be locked into position. See Page 8 for how to achieve additional tightening and untightening of the ball joint.

The Accessory / Projector must not be moved whilst the Atom Grip Ball Joint is in a tightened position – failure to loosen the mechanism prior to adjustments WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ATOM GRIP. When the Adjustment Handle is released, the attached accessory may unexpectedly swing from its clamped position depending on the speed the Adjustment Handle is moved, the weight and centre of gravity of the accessory – PRECAUTIONS SHOULD BE TAKEN TO AVOID ANY IMPACTS.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD THE ADJUSTMENT HANDLE / LEVER BE REMOVED WHILE A LOAD IS BEING SUPPORTED.

The Adjustment Handle is used to tighten and untighten the ball joint by simply rotating either clockwise or anti-clockwise. It is possible to tighten and untighten the ball joint more than one turn:

  1. To untighten the ball joint further, follow these steps:
    • Lift the Adjustment Handle to disengaged the lever.
    • Whilst raised, rotate the handle clockwise.
    • Release the handle, so it lowers and reengages with the mechanism.
    • Rotate Adjustment Handle anti-clockwise to loosen the ball joint further.
  2. To tighten the ball joint further, follow these steps:
    • Lift the Adjustment Handle to disengage the lever.
    • Whilst raised, rotate the handle anti-clockwise.
    • Release the handle, so it lowers and reengages with the mechanism.
    • Rotate Adjustment Handle clockwise to tighten the ball joint further.

ATTACHING TO AN AIR FRAME

To attach an Atom Grip to any of the 3 Atom Grip Attachment Plates on an Air Frame please follow these instructions:

Required Tools

  • 6mm Hex Key (Allen Key)

rigtec-AG02-A-Atom-Grip-FIG-5

  1. Place the Atom Grip on to the Atom Grip Attachment Plate. Line the M8 bolts up with the M8 Atom Grip Threads.
  2. To help prevent damage to the M8 Atom Grip Threads on the Air Frame it is good practice to initially attach the bolts by hand. Attach each bolt loosely, gradually tighten them evenly.
  3. Once all bolts are located in the threads and loosely attached; use a 6mm Hex Key to tighten. Tighten all four bolts evenly.
  4. Ensure all four M8 bolts are torqued to 6±0.5 Nm (M8).

Any suspended accessory must be independently secured with an approved safety wire/s. Local laws or regulations should be consulted regarding the additional safety of hanging equipment.

HANGING FROM A TRUSS

Once the Atom Grip is attached to the Air Frame it can be hung from a Truss. Follow these instructions:

rigtec-AG02-A-Atom-Grip-FIG-6

  1. Firstly, ensure the Atom Grip is correctly attached to the Air Frame. Then untighten and open the clamp by using the clamp handle.
  2. Lift the complete structure to the truss (Do Not Exceed Safe Manual Handling Limits – Two or more people may be required to lift)
  3. Hang the Atom Grip Clamp from the truss.
  4. Ensure the clamp is closed and tightened by tightening the clamp handle using hand pressure only.

Only use the clamp on the correct size tube (48-51mm) in a horizontal orientation and make sure that the tube has end stops or is fully enclosed. Any suspended accessory must be independently secured with an approved safety wire/s. Local laws or regulations should be consulted regarding the additional safety of hanging equipment.

SAFETY STEEL CABLES

The installer bears the responsibility to ensure the Air Frame and Atom Grip is suspended in a safe and secure fashion. Safety Steel Cables must be applied to suspended Air Frames according to local regulations and standards. For more information on safely suspending equipment please consult local laws and regulations. The installer must ensure safety cables are the correct length, format and strength – No drop distance is allowed or must be limited as much as possible. Please follow these instructions and diagrams when choosing where to position Safety Steel Cables on Rigtec Air Frames:

rigtec-AG02-A-Atom-Grip-FIG-7

  1. Landscape Orientation; Please loop safety steel cables around the suspending truss and through the Air Frame, around the Side Bars.
  2. Portrait Orientation; Please loop safety steel cables around the suspending truss and through the Air Frame, around the Side Bars.
  3. Floor Projection Orientation; Please loop safety steel cablesaround the suspending truss and through the Air Frame, around the Back Bars.

DO NOT USE THE REMOVABLE FRONT BAR FOR ATTACHING A SAFETY STEEL CABLE.
