The Portable Hidden Camera D5 is a compact and easy-to-use device that allows you to capture photos, and record videos, and audio without being noticed. It comes with a data/charging port, a display screen, a video/audio button, a power button/photo shooting camera, a USB data cable, and 2-in-1 OTG cables for Android and iPhone.
The device has a power-saving feature where the screen goes off after 10 seconds of inactivity to reserve power for use as a watch.
The device can also be used as a timing device through the notepad function.

Usage Instructions

Note: Before using the device, please read the user manual carefully and charge the device fully.

Power On/Off

• To turn on the device, gently press the on/off button. The screen will display the time, power, and clock icon.
• To turn off the device, long press the on/off button for 3 seconds, then release your hand.

Video Recording

• In power on state, press the video/audio button to start video recording. A circle icon will appear on the screen.
• To stop recording and save, press the video/audio button again.
  The circle icon will disappear, and the video will be saved in the video file folder.

Audio Recording

• In power-on state, press the video/audio button for about 3-5 seconds to start the audio recording. A triangle icon will appear on the screen.
• To stop recording and save, press the video/audio button gently. The triangle icon will disappear, and the audio will be saved in the audio file folder.

Photo Shooting

• In power-on state, press the power button to take a photo.
• The screen will display a photo icon and then disappear. The photo will be saved in the photo file folder.

Playback on Computer

• Connect the 2-in-1 OTG cable to the device and computer.
• Open the device drive and then open the video/audio file folder.
• Transfer/copy the file to your computer to play or delete it.

Playback on Android Phones

• Connect the 2-in-1 OTG cable to the device and Android phone.
• Open the device drive and then open the video/audio file folder.
• Transfer/copy the file to the local folder of your phone to play or delete it.
• Note: Android phones must have OTG function.

Playback on iPhone

• Note: Make sure the device is fully charged before connecting to iPhone or it may not be recognized by iPhone.
• Connect the original USB cable and OTG-for iPhone cable to the device and iPhone.
• Find the Files app and click Browser to find and open the device drive.
• Open the video/audio file folder and transfer/copy the file to the local folder of your phone to play or delete it.
• Note: Only supports IOS 13 and above, and iPhone 8 and above.

Timing Setting

• Connect the device to the computer through the original data cable.
• Find the Notepad file (the file exists by default) and set the timing as needed.
• Note: Before timing setting, backup important files on the computer first.

Notes

Press lightly when pressing the buttons, do not press the buttons vigorously! Because the device will reserve a little power for use as a watch, when the power is low, you can only check the watch time. At this time, you need to charge it first before use (It is not defective)!

Power On

• Long press the power button for 3 seconds, then enter to the power on status(automatically shut down after 15 minutes of standby).
• Notes: (When connected to the charger, device will turn on automatically, and you can operate the audio, video, and photo shooting functions directly)
• Tips: In a well-lit environment, please aim the lens at the subject, keep a distance of more than 50cm from the subject and avoid jitter. This will result in natural colors, clear scenes, and stable images. Device will produce Full HD video and large video files. When the storage is full, the files will be overwritten cyclically. Please save them in time.

Power Off

• Long Press the power button for 3 seconds then releasing hand, the device will enter the clock state & shuts down.

Video recording

• In the power on state, press video/audio button, a circle icon will appear on the screen to start video recording
• Saving: press video/audio button again, the circle icon will disappear, then the video is saved, and back to power on state.

Audio recording

• In the power on state, press video/audio button for about 3~5 seconds, a triangle icon will appear on the screen to start audio recording
• Saving: press video/audio button gently, the triangle icon will disappear, then the audio is saved, and back to power on state.

Photo shooting

• In the power on state, press power button, the screen will display a photo icon then disappear, then the photo has been taken and saved, and back to power on state.

Playback On Computer

1. Connect the device to computer though original data cable;
2. Open the device drive-Open the Video/Audio file folder;
3. Download the video/audio file to the computer to play.

Notes:

1. The video file is AVI format, audio is WAV format, must use a player which can support these format when play on computer.
2. We suggest use the“Windows Media Player”when play on Windows computer; use“VLC Media Player”when play on Mac.
3. Please download the video/audio file to computer then to play, because the video file is too big that the device can’t drive it smoothly, that may cause the playback stuck!

Playback On Android Phone

1. Connect the 2-in-1 OTG cable to the device & Android phone
2. Open the device drive-Open the Video file folder
3. Transfer/copy the video file to the local folder of your phone to play(You can also delete the recorded file on phone)

Notes: 1. Please transfer/copy the recorded file to the local folder of your phone to play, because the video file is too big that the device can’t drive it smoothly, that may cause the playback stuck! 2. Android phone must has OTG function.

Playback On iPhone

Important Note before Starting: please make sure the device was fully charged before connecting to iPhone, otherwise can’t recognized by iPhone

1. Connect the Original USB Cable & OTG-for iPhone Cable to device & phone
2. Find “Files” APP
3. Click “Browser” to find and open the device drive -Open the Video/Audio file folder
4. Transfer/Copy the video file to the local folder of your phone to play(You can also delete the recorded file on phone)

Notes: –

1. Please copy the recorded file to the local folder of your phone to play, because the video file is too big that the device can’t drive it smoothly, that may cause the playback stuck!
2. Only support IOS 13 & over(only support iPhone 8 & over)

Timing setting

Set the device time & the Video file time first before use. Method 1：

1. Connect the device to computer though original data cable.(*Pay attention to backing up important files on computer first!)
2. Find , then double-click the left button to open it, as shown in the figure, then click Exit. 3). Will keep walking according to modified time until power off.

Notes: 1. The time needs to be reset after the device has no electricity. 2. This time setting Method only support windows computer, not support Mac or any phone!

Method 2:

1. Connect the device to the computer though the original data cable.(*Pay attention to backing up important files on the computer first!)
2. Find <TIME.TXT> Notepad file(the file exists by default) or you can create a Notepad document named “TIME.TXT”. 3)The content of the file should be written at the beginning without any spaces.

• For example  Original time: 2017-06-12,23:59:59
• Modified time: 2021-12-12,23:59:59
• You can see the modified time content in the picture, then please save and close the file.
• Disconnect the device from the computer, then turn the on and off the device once immediately, the system automatically reads the modified time and will keep walking according to the modified time until the power is off.

Notes:

1. The time needs to be reset after the device has no electricity. (After the device system reads the time, the content of the document will be restored to the original time)
2. This time setting Method supports windows & Mac computers, not support any phone!

Charging (precautions)

• Please use 5V charger or computer to charge. When the device is charging, the screen displays charging; when it is fully charged, the battery icon is full and stops beating.
• Tip: If the device has not been charged for a long time and the battery is too low, please use the charger adapter to charge, otherwise you can use the computer to charge.

Data Connections

To ensure a stable connection, please use the original data cable to connect to the computer. 1/ It can be connected to a computer and used as a computer camera. 2/ You can view the recorded files inside the device. If the video cannot be played normally or freezes, you need copy/transfer the file first and download the right player which can support AVI or WAV format video/audio file to play.

Format (Clear Data)

Use formatting when the device is faulty or you need to clear the data. (*Pay attention to backing up important files include the ‘TIME UPDATER.exe’ software!)

1. Connect the device to computer though original data cable to read the data;
2. Double-click my computer to find the device drive;
3. Back up important files first;
4. Right-click the device drive, find the formatting option and left-click; Select FAT32, select 32KB for the allocation cell size;
5. Click Start, wait for the format to be successful, then exit to use it normally.

Note: If there is no FAT32 / 32KB option on the computer, you need to download the software DISKGENIUS performs formatting operations.

Q&A

1. Connect to a computer or mobile phone, can not be recognized, the connection is unstable, not charging?
   Please be sure to use the original data cable, otherwise the device may not be recognized and the connection is unstable. In addition, to connect to a phone, make sure that the phone has OTG function and is turned on.

2. There is no response when power on, the screen is not bright or only the time is displayed?
   Because only the time function is retained when the battery is low, you need charge it for 2 hours before trying again.

3. Poor video and audio effects, blurred?
   The video recording effect is better within 5 meters. The audio recording distance is about 2.3 meters. You can wipe the lens position before recording. Fingerprints can also cause unclearness. In addition, strong jitter can also cause blurring of the recording.

4. There is no file after audio/video recording and photo shooting, and there is no response when press the button in power on state?
   It may be caused by a memory file system error. Please wait for the device to run out of power, connect to the computer, and operate according to the instruction [Format] (back up important data before formatting), and correct the file system of the machine to FAT32/32KB. If no FAT32/32KB option, you need to download software DISKGENIUS for formatting operation.

5. Unsuccessful for time synchronization?

   • Follow the instruction [Time Setting], try the Method 1 with a computer firstly;
     If it doesn’t work, you can use the Method 2 to ensure that the file format must be correct (if the file is wrong or changed, you can delete it directly, and the TIME

   • UPDATER.exe file will be regenerated after restarting) The file is still a txt file), eject the device from computer or mobile phone first, and then unplug the device to prevent unsuccessful synchronization due to file errors due to unplugging the machine directly.

6. Do I need to reset the time when there is no power?
   The device will reserve a little power for the watch. It can be used for about 1 week. Please charge it in time. If you have no electricity, you need to re- set the time.

7. Can’t charge by the computer?
   If the device has not been charged for a long time, resulting in a very low battery, please use the charger adapter to charge, otherwise you can use the computer to charge.

8. The video playback effect is not good.
   Please copy the video file to your computer or mobile phone and play it. In addition, you can download the right player for a better playback effect.

9. The file recorded before is missing?
   This device has a high-definition camera and large video files. 32GB can save about 180 minutes of video (another capacity can be calculated). When it is full, it will overwrite the previous file. Please save the files in time.

Notes for users

1. Please use the charging adapter with the original data cable to charge first before use. (charge adapter not included)
2. Before formal use, please conduct several tests to grasp the best angle of video recording.
3. Please try not to shake when shooting/recording to ensure the clarity of picture quality
4. When you need to format or set the device time, please back up important files and the ‘TIME UPDATER.exe’ software
5. When the memory is insufficient, the new document will overwrite the old document
6. When checking the video file, please download it to your computer to view it, otherwise, the video may stuck. This hidden camera cannot drive large video files fluently.
