POWER CONNECT
5V-HPK – Hardwired Power Adapter for Satellite Radio Receivers
The 5V-HPK is designed to work with any SIRIUS, XM or SiriusXM™ Dock and Play receiver. The kit is packaged with 2 interchangeable cables that allow you to use the same power adapter with a legacy receiver or a new Power Connect™ SiriusXM™ receiver.
Step 1) Select the cable that matches up with the satellite radio
receiver. Typically PowerConnect™ docking cradles have a red circle around the
power port or the words PWR in red.
Step 2) Connect the cable with the male connector on the power adapter as
shown below.
Step 3) Connect the adapter to power and ground in the vehicle. Wire the red wire (positive) to the vehicle power and the black wire (negative) to a ground on the vehicle.
Note: If you experience “engine noise” when you press the gas pedal you may need to wire to a better grounding location.
