INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Model FP2013-U1
600W Power Supply Set

INTRODUCTION

The Model FP2013-U1 is a cascaded power supply set consisting of two individual supplies connected by an Interconnect Current Share Cable. It provides primary regulated 24VDC power for normal operation. The FP2013U1 is rated 20A@24VDC and regulation is under all load/line cases.
Each module incorporates two 6.3A replaceable, nonresettable slow-blow fuses on the primary input and includes a built-in AC line filter for surge and noise suppression. (Refer to Figure 4 for the location of the fuses.)
The FP2013-U1 mounts in a Voice 3HU enclosure.
A green LED illuminates to indicate that the module is powered up.
There are no serviceable parts to be maintained.

INSTALLATION

Remove all system power before installation, first battery then AC. (To power up, connect the AC first, then the battery.
The installation kit for the FP2013-U1 includes the following:
2 300 Watt Power Supplies
8 #10 lock nuts
1 Installation Instruction
1 Interconnect Current Share Cable

For 240VAC installation, reference the Voltage Selector Switch in Figure 4 before installing the FP2013-U1 module.

Mounting

Mount the enclosure to the wall before mounting the FP2013U1 power supply to the enclosure.

  1. Make sure that the dedicated circuit breaker for the FP2013-U1 unit is turned off at the mains.

  2. Place both units over the mounting studs protruding from the enclosure indicated in the system installation manual. (See Figure 1) SIEMENS FP2013-U1 600W Power Supply Set -Figure 1: Mounting and Wiring the FP2013-U1
NOTE: FP2013 is only available for 3HU FHB2005 enclosure.

  3. Position 1: Connect Supply to X301 on Periphery Board FCI2016/2017.

  4. Position 2: Connect Supply to X302 on the Periphery Board FCI2016/2017.

  5. Using the lock-nuts provided in the installation kit, secure the FP2013-U1(s) to the mounting studs on the enclosure.

Wiring

The FP2013-U1 is designed to operate from a 120/240VAC, 50/60Hz power source. Use a separate or dedicated circuit breaker for both supply units. Wire in accordance with the authority having jurisdiction and Article 760 of the NEC NFPA 70 latest edition.

  1. Run the earth ground from a suitable source to each power supply subassembly. Check local requirements. Conduit is not an acceptable earth ground conductor.

  2. For each power supply subassembly to be installed, remove the safety cover from the 3-position terminal block and place it to one side.

  3. Connect the AC mains to the 3-position terminal block on Position #1 power supply subassembly as shown in Figure 1. Connect the mains to the terminal block as follows:
    H (Hot) – Black wire
    N (Neutral) – White wire
G (Earth Ground) – Green wire

  4. For the second (Position #2) power supply, install a 3wire power supply connector cable between the terminal blocks on the first and second power supplies, as shown in Figure 1.

  5. Replace the safety covers on the terminal blocks of the FP2013-U1 Power Supply Subassemblies.

  6. The Interconnect Current Share Cable provided in the package is used to interconnect the wires attached to each power supply subassembly, refer to the Wire-toWire Connector section.

  7. Ensure the Jumper X305, located on Periphery Board FCI2016/2017, is in position 2 and 3.

  8. Apply power only after all connections are complete.

Wire-to-Wire Connectors
The Interconnect Current Share Cable, provided in the kit, connects the two power supply communication cables together (Figure 2).

NOTE: The Interconnect Current Share Cable assembly is keyed and can only fit in one way.
