Wireless Operation
This receiver can be controlled wirelessly by a minimum of 1 and a maximum of
6 Trust Smart home transmitters. For example, 16-channel remote control
AYCT-102, wireless wall switch AWST-8800, etc.
For a complete overview you can consult the product advisor (under contact &
support) on www.trust.com.
Notes on operation of AMU-500
This receiver must be supplied with mains power (230V, 50 Hz).
The switch in the module, the contacts of which are labelled ‘COM’ and , are
isolated from the 230V AC supply and are potential-free. You can switch
various types of voltage (230VAC, 12-24VDC, etc.).
After sending an on or off signal with a Trust Smart home transmitter, the
‘COM’ terminal is connected to or disconnected from the terminal.
Switching off the mains power
Always switch off the mains power first (in the meter cupboard) before you begin to install or remove this product.
Removing existing wall switch
Remove the existing switch.
Pulling in blue wire
To install the universal switch you need a blue wire. You can pull in a new
one, from the ceiling box, using a fish tape.
Use a push-wire connector (or wire nut) to connect a new blue wire to the
existing blue wire and pull it to the wall box with the fish tape. If in
doubt, consult an installer.
Connecting to mains power
Connect the universal switch to the mains power as follows: Connect the
(brown) phase wire to terminal ‘L’.
Connect the (blue) neutral wire to terminal ‘N’. Then tighten the clamping
screws.
The 230V mains power must always be connected as described. Wire colours may
differ in practice. Consult an installer if you have any doubts about wire
colours.
Connecting to controlled equipment
You can use the and ‘COM’ terminals to switch a:
- pulse input (step 5A)
- low voltage motor (step 5B)
- two-minute or two-way lighting circuit (step 5C)
- existing doorbell system (step 5D)
Connecting pulse input
Connect ‘COM’ and to the input terminals of the pulse input.
NOTE: The L and N terminals must never make a connection to the low
voltage terminals. This can result in damage to the equipment.
Connecting low voltage motor
Connect ‘COM’ to the 12-24V power from the adapter. Connect the switch wire to
the terminal. Connect the switch wire to the plus terminal on the motor.
Connect the 0V wire of the adapter to the 0V terminal on the motor.
NOTE: The 230V L and N terminals must never make a connection to the low
voltage terminals. This can result in damage to the equipment.
Connecting to a two-minute or two-way lighting circuit
The universal switch can be used to switch a 230V fan or lights.
The universal switch will then switch on when it receives a signal from a
Trust Smart home transmitter. After the set auto-off time or when an ‘off’
signal is sent, it switches the connected fan or lights off.
Connecting to an existing doorbell system
You can use the universal switch to make an existing doorbell system wireless
with one or more Trust Smart home push-button transmitters (ACDB-7000A or
ACDB-7000B).
Connect the two wires previously connected to the doorbell pushbutton to the
‘COM’ and connections of the universal switch. Set the auto-off time to 1 sec,
as described in step 8D.
NOTE: The 230V L and N terminals must never make a connection to the low
voltage terminals. This can result in damage to the equipment.
Switching on the mains power
Switch on the mains power before you continue with the installation. Make sure
no more exposed wiring is present.
The LED indicator on the receiver will be lit continuously when the receiver
is supplied with power.
Binding transmitter(s) to the receiver
Press the connect button for no more than 1 second (with a pointed object) to
activate the learn mode. The learn mode will be active for 12 seconds and the
LED indicator on the receiver will flash slowly.
While the LED indicator is flashing, send an ‘on’ signal with a Trust Smart
home transmitter to save the relevant activation code in the memory of the
receiver.
The LED indicator will flash quickly for a few seconds once the code is
received. The product is now ready for use. Optionally, you can set a timer
(step 8). If this is not applicable you can proceed to step 9.
The receiver can save 6 different transmitter codes in memory. If you want to
save multiple transmitter codes you need to repeat steps 7A through 7C.
The memory is retained if the receiver is installed somewhere else or if the
power goes out.
Setting auto-off time
In addition to regular on/off use it is possible to set three different auto- off times:
- Automatically switch off after 1 second
- Automatically switch off after 5 seconds
- Automatically switch off after 2 minutes
Press the connect button for no more than 1 second and then release it.
Now press the connect button for 3 seconds and release it.
The auto-off time setup is activated. The LED indicator shows which mode is active:
Mode A : On/off
LED flashes 1x
Mode B : Automatically switch off after 1 sec
LED flashes 2x
Mode C : Automatically switch off after 5 sec
LED flashes 3x
Mode D : Automatically switch off after 2 min
LED flashes 4x
Send a signal with the remote control once to activate Mode B. Send a signal to twice to activate Mode C. Send a signal three times to activate Mode D.
If you have sent one signal too many, send an ‘off’ signal to go back one option.
NOTE! If no signal is sent within 10 sec the setup is automatically ended.
Press the connect button three times once you have selected the right option.
The LED indicator will flash twice to confirm.
Fitting and covering the receiver
Mount the universal switch in a standard junction box, splash-proof junction
box OWH-001 (sold separately) or other type of enclosure (e.g. the housing of
the motor, as long as it is not made of metal). Finally, cover the box.
Make sure you always have access to the receiver, for example to reset it or
bind a new transmitter.
Wireless operation
Send an ‘on’ signal with the transmitter to operate the connected devices
wirelessly.
Send an ‘off’ signal to switch off the connected devices.
Clearing one transmitter code
- Press the connect button for no more than 1 second. The LED indicator on the receiver will flash slowly.
- While the learn mode is active, send an ‘off’ signal with the Trust Smart home transmitter whose transmission code you want to clear from the receiver’s memory.
- The receiver will flash twice to confirm that the code has been cleared.
Repeat this procedure to unbind multiple transmitters or transmitter codes.
Clearing entire memory
- Press the connect button (approx. 6 seconds) until the LED indicator starts flashing.
- While the clear mode is active, press the connect button again for 1 second to confirm that you want to clear the entire memory.
- The receiver flashes twice to confirm that the memory has been cleared.
