Device Installation
A. SD Card Installation
Use the Phillips screwdriver to remove the camera maintenance cover, and insert the SD card. After the SD card is installed, fasten the screws on the cover with a torque of 5 kgf·cm.
B. Ceiling-Mounted Installation
CAUTION
If the camera is to be installed on a thin surface, for example, aluminum panels, you are advised to take the following measures to secure the camera: Put a plank behind the surface, and then secure the camera using tapping screws. Alternatively, you can directly use bolts and nuts (not included in the packing list) to secure the camera.
(1) Remove the camera base. As shown in the following figure, press the removal button, press the camera body with force, and push the base horizontally until the base is separated from the body.
a) Press the button to open the buckle.
b) Pull up the base to facilitate later removal.
c) Push the base horizontally (in the rear direction).
d) Press the body with force.
(2) Determine the installation position.
- Paste the drilling sticker in the camera installation position and determine the installation position of screws and pigtails according to the marks on the sticker.
- Use a drill bit with a diameter of 6 mm to drill holes with a depth of about 55 mm in the specified positions marked by the sticker.
Use a claw hammer to drive the white plastic expansion tubes into the holes. (Optional: If the camera is to be installed on a thin surface, for example, aluminum panels, and you plan to use tapping screws to secure the camera, you can skip this step.)
(3) Thread the cables to be connected to the pigtails through the camera base. The pigtails must be routed straightly to prevent the cables from getting entangled when the PTZ device rotates. Put the three expansion tubes through the holes on the camera base and tighten the screws.
NOTE
- If you need to lead cables from the side of the base, first open the cable outlet on the side of the base. Do not tighten the screws connecting the base to expansion tubes to ensure that the cables are smoothly led from the side of the base.
- Before fixing the camera, perform cable connection as well as cable waterproof and insulation treatment. For details, see “Cable Connection” and “Waterproofing and Insulation”)
(4) Install the camera on the ceiling mount.
a) Cable outlet on the side of the base
C. Pendant-Mounted and Wall-Mounted Installation
(1) Place the mount to the required installation location, use a marker to mark the screw installation positions, and drill holes in the marked positions.
(2) Select a drill bit with a 8 mm diameter and drill four holes with a depth of 55 mm in the specified positions marked by the marker. Use a claw hammer to install expansion tubes into the holes.
(3) Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the screws and remove the mounting plate from the pendant (or wall) mount. Thread the cables through the mount. Put the four expansion tubes through the four screw holes at the bottom of the pendant mount, and tighten the screws to affix the mount.
Pendant-Mounted Installation
Wall-Mounted Installation
(4) Remove the camera base. For details, see step 1 in “Ceiling-Mounted Installation”.
(5) Align the mounting holes on the camera base with the corresponding installation slots on the mounting plate of the pendant (or wall) mount, and fasten the camera base and the mounting plate together using the screws. Then, route the cables through the mounting plate and the camera base.
(6) Connect the cables to the pigtails of the camera and perform insulation operations on the cables (see “Cable Connection” and “Waterproofing and Insulation”).
(7) Install the camera on the pendant (or wall) mount. Install the mounting plate.
NOTE
This camera adopts the tri-axis design that allows horizontal rotation of 0° to 360°, vertical rotation of 0° to 75°, and chipset rotation of 0° to 360°, satisfying installation at different angles.
a) mount
b) mounting plate
c) base
D. Cable Connection
CAUTION
- In areas prone to lightning strikes, a lightning arrester must be installed and grounded.
- Strong and weak current cables must be kept at least 5 cm apart from each other. When connecting the cables to the device, take care to avoid connecting strong current cables to weak current ports or you will damage your device.
- Wrap all pigtail cables in insulated, waterproof, rubber tape to prevent short circuits or water damage. Cutting off the pigtail cables will void your warranty.
- If multiple cameras use the centralized power supply mode (excluding PoE), the connectivity of the two wires of each camera’s power cable need to be controlled through the same switch. Otherwise, the power module may be burned.
(1) Connect the power cable.
(2) Connect the alarm cable. It is recommended that the diameter of the alarm cable core range from 22 AWG to 28 AWG. (You need to prepare wiring terminals for connection. Alternatively, you can directly connect the bare wires.)
(3) Connect the network cable. Loosen the components 1, 2, and 3 of the waterproof connector kit in sequence, thread the network cable through the kit (If the RJ45 connector of the network cable has a jacket and cannot be threaded through the kit, remove the jacket. If the jacket cannot be removed, cut off the connector and install an RJ45 connector without the jacket.), and install the components in the sequence marked in the following figure. The waterproof connector of the network cable must be secured tightly, or they may come loose later.
Note: For some camera models, the waterproof connector kit is not installed on the network cable, so the waterproof connector kit does not need to be dissembled.
a) Component 3
b) Component 2
c) Component 1
d) O-ring for the waterproof connector(rubber ring)
E. Waterproofing and Insulation
NOTE
- Waterproof and insulate all cables including power cables, network cables, and unused pigtail cables.
- Before that, check the cabling and ensure that the camera runs normally to avoid reworkings.
- The waterproof tape must cover the cable bundle from the insulation sheath all the way to the cable conduit (for example, a PVC tube). The tape must be wrapped tightly and there must be no gaps in the coverage or water will leak in.
(1) Insulate the cable connectors using insulation tape.
Wrap one layer only. Stretch the waterproof tape evenly to twice its original
length. Then apply one layer of waterproof tape.
a) Insulation tape
b) Waterproof tape
(2) Use the insulation tape to protect the waterproof tape layer. Then, use cable ties to secure the both ends.
a) Insulation tape
b) Cable tie
(3) Cover the rest of the cabling in a conduit or with protective waterproof rubber tape. Make a drip loop as shown below to create an artificial lowest point of the cable.
a) Protective hose covering or waterproof tape
b) Drip loop
