Read and store the operating instructions
These operating instructions belong to this 20V Cordless Quick Work Lawn Mower
(hereinafter also referred to as “device”), they contain important information
on commissioning and operation.
Read the operating instructions carefully, especially the safety instructions,
before using the device. Failure to follow these operating instructions can
result in serious injury or damage to the device.
The operating instructions are based on the standards and rules applicable in
the UK and the European Union. When abroad, also observe country-specific
guidelines and laws.
Keep the operating instructions for further use. If you pass the device on to
third parties, be sure to include these operating instructions.
Explanation of symbols
The following symbols are used in these operating instructions, on the device
or on the packaging.

Intended use
The device is designed exclusively for mowing private lawns. The lawn must be
dry and level. Flowering meadows, wild meadows and heavily overgrown lawns
with high weeds (e.g. thistles) are not considered lawns.
It is intended exclusively for private use and not suitable for commercial use. Only use the device as described in these operating instructions. Any other use is considered improper and can lead to property damage or even personal injury. The device is not a children’s toy.
The manufacturer or dealer assumes no liability for damage caused by improper or incorrect use.

Safety instructions
General safety instructions for power tools
WARNING
Read all safety instructions and technical data with which this power tool is
provided.
Failure to follow the instructions below could result in electric shock, fire
and / or serious injury. Keep all safety notices and instructions for future
use.
The term “power tool” used in the safety instructions refers to mains-operated
power tools (with a power cord) or to battery-operated power tools (without a
power cord).
Job security
- Visit the mowing area and remove foreign objects such as stones, toys, sticks and wires.
- Only operate the device when visibility is good and there is sufficient lighting.
- Do not use the device if there is a risk of a lightning strike.
Personal safety
- Keep third parties away from the danger area
Use and treatment of the device
- Make sure that all starter locks and pushbuttons are working properly and check them regularly.
- The safety systems or devices of the device must not be manipulated or deactivated.
- Do not operate the device on slopes or nearby landfill sites, ditches or dikes.
Service
- Carry out repair and replacement work only when the engine is switched off.
- Keep the device in good working order. Maintain the device regularly and replace damaged parts immediately.
- Any sealed settings for engine speed control should neither be changed nor tampered with.
Safety instructions for cordless devices
- Only charge the batteries with chargers supplied. A charger designed for one type of battery may create a fire hazard if it is used with other batteries.
- When the battery is not in use, keep it away from paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screwdrivers, or other small metal objects that could cause the contacts to be bridged. A short circuit between the battery contacts can result in burns or fire.
- If used incorrectly, liquid can leak from the battery. Avoid contact with it. In the event of accidental contact, rinse with water. If the liquid gets into the eyes, seek medical help as well. Leaking battery fluid can cause skin irritation or burns.
- Do not use a damaged or modified battery. Damaged or modified batteries can behave unpredictably and lead to fire, explosion or risk of injury.
- Do not expose a battery pack to fire or high temperatures. Fire or temperatures above 130°C can cause an explosion.
- Follow all charging instructions and never charge the rechargeable battery or the rechargeable battery device outside of the temperature range specified in the operating instructions. Incorrect charging or charging outside the permitted temperature range can destroy the battery and increase the risk of fire.
- Never service damaged batteries. All maintenance of batteries should only be carried out by the manufacturer or an authorized customer service centre.
Personal safety
WARNING
Risk of injury for people with personal disabilities or lack of experience and
knowledge! Improper handling of the device can result in serious injuries or
damage to the device.
- Do not leave the device unattended during operation.
- Only allow others access to the device after they have read the instructions in full and understood them appropriately or have been instructed about its intended use and the associated dangers.
- Never allow children or persons with limited physical, sensory or mental capabilities or with a lack of experience and knowledge or persons who are not familiar with the instructions for operating the device to use the device.
- Local regulations may regulate the minimum age of the user.
CAUTION: Risk of injury!
Improper handling of the device can lead to injuries.
- The knife is sharp. Wear protective gloves and be particularly careful when working in the area of the blade.
- Do not reach under the fermentation.
- Do not operate the fermentation device while other people or animals are nearby.
- Do not operate the device in impaired condition (e.g. under the influence of drugs, alcohol, medication or if you are tired).
- Wear sturdy shoes, long pants and hearing protection.
- Avoid working on wet lawns, you can slip and lose control of the device.
- Areas with a slope of more than 20° must not be worked on, you can slip and lose control of the device.
- Wait until the blade has come to a standstill before loosening blockages, clearing blockages or doing other work on the device.
WARNING: Risk of injury!
There is a risk of injury if handled improperly.
- Do not use the device to cut hedges, shrubs, bushes and perennials.
- Do not use the device to chop twigs and branches.
- Do not use the device to compensate for irregularities in the soil.
Instructions for safe handling
Turn off the engine and remove the safety key. Make sure that all moving parts
have come to a complete stop.
- Whenever you leave the lawn mower;
- Before loosening blockages or clearing blockages in the discharge chute;
- Before checking, cleaning or working on the lawn mower;
- When a foreign object has been hit. Check for damage to the lawnmower and make any necessary repairs before starting and using the lawnmower again.
If the lawnmower begins to vibrate unusually strongly, it is necessary to inspect it immediately.
- Look for damage;
- Make the necessary repairs to damaged parts;
- Make sure that all nuts, bolts and screws are tightened securely.
Rules of operation
The following rules must be observed when working on and with the lawnmower.

Settings and troubleshooting should only be carried out when the device is at a standstill. Make sure that the device cannot start.
Only lift the device by the handle and handlebar. Never reach under the device to lift it. -
Let the blade run out before touching the device.

Never put your hand under the ejection flap or the ejection opening.
-
Stop the engine immediately if you hear unusual mowing noises or vibrations. Check and eliminate the source of interference before you continue mowing.

Never use a damaged device. Have damage to the blade and device repaired by the manufacturer’s customer service or qualified personnel.

Only mow slopes across the slope.
Initial start-up
Check device and delivery
WARNING: Children can get caught in it while playing with the packaging film and suffocate.
- Make sure that children do not play with the packaging film.
NOTE: Risk of damage
If you carelessly open the packaging with a sharp knife or other pointed
object, the device can be damaged.
- Therefore, be very careful when opening.
- Lift the device out of the packaging with both hands.
- Check whether the delivery is complete (see chapter Delivery / device parts).
- Check the device and the individual parts for damage. Do not use a damaged device.
Mount the handlebar
- Insert the handlebar [9] completely into the handlebar mount [7] The nose on the handlebar must be in the recess of the handlebar mount.
- Tighten the sleeve [8].
The handlebar is mounted.
Service Instructions
Notes on mowing
The following information will help you to use the device effectively and
safely. Improper handling of the device can lead to device damage.
- Visit the mowing area and remove foreign objects such as stones, toys, sticks, wires and mounds of earth (moles).
- Mow slowly and, if possible, do not always use the entire cutting width to cleanly cut the blades of grass at high speed. A high cutting key reduces the speed of the knife.
Adjust handlebar position
The handlebar can be gradually adjusted to a comfortable working height.
Before working with the device, adjust the handlebar to your individual
working height. The device can only be operated in the safe range of 18-63°.
- Press handlebar release [6].
- Adjust the handlebar [9] to the desired height.
- Check that the handlebar is locked in at the desired height.

Adjust the cutting height
The cutting height can be set in 3 positions in the range of 25-48 mm.
- Hold the device by the handlebar mount [7].
- Pull the cutting height adjustment lever {2] out of the lock-in position.
- Slide the cutting height adjustment lever [2] to the desired position.
The device thereby rises or falls. 3 [PICTURE] 4. Re-engage the cutting height adjustment lever {2] correctly. The cutting height is set.
Charging the battery
Charger and battery are included.
- Charging time: 5 hours
- Working time: 15 minutes
CAUTION
Risk of fire and explosion due to polarity reversal or short circuit
- Only use the battery supplied.
- Use only undamaged batteries.
Inserting the battery
- To insert the battery, slide the battery into the battery holder [4].
- You hear a “click” when the battery lock engages.
- 2. Check that the battery is firmly seated.
Removing the battery
- Remove the security key [3].
- Press and hold the battery release button.
- Pull the battery out of the battery holder [4].
If the battery cannot be removed easily, the battery release button was not pressed enough. Press the battery release button more firmly.
Prepare for operation
Use a compatible battery that is as fully charged as possible.
- Check the device and knife before connecting the power supply.
- Set the desired cutting height before connecting the power supply.
- Check the position of the handlebars and correct them if necessary in order to be able to work comfortably.
- Open the lid [1].
- Install a charged battery.
- Insert the security key [3].
The device is ready for use.
Turning motor on and off
The motor is activated by a safety switch. If the safety bar is released, the
motor stops. Activate the engine only on the lawn area.

Place the device on the lawn area.

Press and hold the start button [10].
-
Press the safety bar [11].
The engine starts. -
Let go of the start button and keep the safety bar pressed as long as you want to keep the engine running.
Release the safety bar to stop the engine. Caution, the knife continues to run, wait until the knife has come to a standstill before handling the device.
Cleaning
WARNING
Risk of electric shock
Moisture in the device can lead to short circuits and electric shock.
- Remove the battery before cleaning.
- It is imperative that you prevent water and other liquids from entering the device.
- Do not spray the device with water.
NOTE
Improper cleaning can damage the device.
- Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents, brushes with metal or nylon bristles, or any sharp or metallic cleaning objects such as knives, hard spatulas and the like. These can damage the surfaces.
- Remove damp clippings immediately. Remnants of damp clippings on and in the device can harden and lead to mould growth.
Cleaning and checking after each use
Regular cleaning and inspection are necessary to keep the device in perfect condition.
- Stop the engine and wait for the knife to stop.
- Remove the security key [3].
- Remove the battery.
- Remove clippings from the device with a hand broom.
- Tilt the device to the side and remove clippings from the knife area with a hand broom or a brush.
- Check the knife for damage and wear. Do not restart the device with a damaged or worn knife! If necessary, have the knife sharpened or replaced by a specialist workshop (for knife type, see “Technical specifications”).
- Put the device back up.
The device is ready for storage.
Maintenance
Except for the measures described in the “Cleaning and checking after each use” chapter, the device is basically maintenance-free. You don’t have to lubricate or readjust any parts. In addition, check once a year:
- Smooth running of the wheels.
- Function and ease of movement of the cutting height adjustment [2].
- Damage to the device, e.g. broken housing parts.
If you discover any defects, contact customer service or a specialist workshop. Do not use the device again if the defect is found.
Storage
Note
Improper storage can damage the device.
- Let the device dry off before storing it. Residual moisture and clippings in the device can lead to the formation of mold.
To store the device, bring the handlebar into an upright position (> 72°). The handlebar can optionally be dismantled for space-saving storage or transport.
Dismantle the handlebar
- Loosen the sleeve [8] on the handlebar mount [7].
- Pull the handlebar [9] out of the handlebar mount [7].
The device is ready for storage.
Storage conditions
- Remove the battery from the device before storing.
- Thoroughly clean the device (see chapter “Cleaning”).
- Store the device in a clean, dry, frost-free place inaccessible to children.
- Store the device in a place protected from sunlight and other heat sources.
- Always store device parts and accessories together with the device.
- Store the device and accessories at a temperature between + 5° C and + 20° C.
Notes on transport
Transport in normal position
- Only transport the device in the normal position, avoid a tilted transport position.
Transport load securing
- When transporting the device in vehicles, it must be secured in accordance with the applicable regulations (load securing).

PLUG WIRING (UK & IRELAND)
This appliance is supplied with a mains adaptor/charger with BS1363 plug pins.
DO NOT use If the socket outlets are not suitable for this product’s mains
adaptor/ charger plug pins. Attempts to insert the mains adaptor/charger into
the wrong socket is likely to cause electric hazard or damage.
DO NOT use with any other mains transformer/charger than the one that is
supplied with this product.
BATTERIES
- Keep batteries away from children and pets.
- Do not mix used and new batteries.
- Remove the batteries if left for long periods.
- Never dispose of batteries in a fire.
- Battery disposal, spent or expired batteries must be properly disposed of and recycled in compliance with local regulations. For detailed information, contact your local authority.
- Follow the battery manufacturer’s safety, usage, and disposal instructions.
DISPOSAL
