Hearing Health

Warning: Listening to sound at high volumes over a prolonged period may cause hearing damage. To prevent possible hearing damage, use your earphones at comfortable, moderate volumes. Turn the volume down before placing the earphones in your ears and then adjust it.

Medical device interference

The earphones and charging case emit an electromagnetic field and contain magnetic material which may interfere with pacemakers, defibrillators or other medical devices. Keep a safe distance of separation of at least 10 cm (4 inches) between your medical device and the earphones and the charging case. Please consult your physician and the medical device manufacturer for further information regarding your medical device. Immediately stop using the earphones and charging case if you suspect interference with
your pacemaker, defibrillator or any other medical device.

Choking Hazard

Not suitable for children under age 3. The earphones, the charging case and other small parts included with the MTB 03 may present a choking hazard or can cause other injury to small children.

Water resistance

IP (Ingress Protection) is an international standard that measures how resistant a product is to water, dust or dirt. The earphones are classified IPX4. Meaning, that the earphones are sweat and water splash resistant. You can use them for non-water sport activities and for exercising. They are not sweat or waterproof. A jet of water or other liquids (e.g. heavy sweating) will penetrate the earphones. Therefore please do not expose the earphones to jets of water or heavy sweating. Generally, IPX4 protection can decrease as a result of normal use.
The charging case is not water or sweat resistant. Do not expose the charging case to water, rain, liquids or snow. Always keep the charging case dry. Do not charge wet earphones. Before charging, dry wet earphones with a lint-free and dry cloth.

Maintenance

Before cleaning, remove the earphones from the power supply.

  • Clean the earphones on a regular basis with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth.
  • Do not apply force or excessive pressure.

You can store the earphones and the charging case at an ambient temperature of -20 °C to 60 °C (-4 °F to 140 °F). Using or storing the devices outside the recommended temperature range may damage the earphones and the charging case.
  • Do not store the earphones and the charging case close to magnetic fields.
  • To avoid loud, unusual (whistling or beeping) noise and to ensure proper noise cancellation, do not cover the microphones openings of the active noise cancellation circuitry located on the outside of the earphones.
  • In case of a damage, do not attempt to repair or service the earphones or the charging case on your own but refer to the Montblanc customer service. Do not attempt to replace the lithium- ion battery yourself.
  • Do not use the earphones when operating a vehicle or in other situation in which the inability to hear surrounding sounds may present a danger to yourself or others. Stop using the earphones if they distract you from performing any activity that requires your full attention.
  • Follow applicable laws regarding earphone usage.
  • Only use the accessories that come with the earphones. Use the earphones only with the official power supply.
  • Always use the earphones with the supplied ear tips. Otherwise they may detach and injureyour ears.
  • If you experience a skin problem or any other unusual condition occurring when using your earphones, discontinue the use. If the problem persists, consult a physician.
  • It is recommended that you return the earphones to the charging case when not in use. Close the charging case when you store or charge the earphones.
