Before the installation and use of the appliance, carefully read the supplied instructions. The manufacturer is not responsible for any injuries or damage that are the result of incorrect installation or usage. Always keep the instructions in a safe and accessible location for future reference.

Children and vulnerable people safety- Gulf Market

• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• Keep all packaging away from children and dispose of it appropriately.
• Keep detergents away from children.
• Keep children and pets away from the appliance when the door is open.
• If the appliance has a child safety device, it should be activated.
• Children shall not carry out cleaning and user maintenance of the appliance without supervision.

General Safety

• Do not change the specification of this appliance.

• Do not exceed the maximum load of 8 kg (refer to the
  “Programme chart” chapter).

• The operating water pressure at the water entry point from the outlet connection must be between 0.5 bar (0.05 MPa) and 8 bar (0.8 MPa).

• The ventilation opening in the base must not be covered by a carpet, mat, or any floor covering.

• The appliance must be connected to the water mains using the new supplied hose sets, or other new hose sets supplied by the Authorised Service Centre.

• Old hose sets must not be reused.

• If the mains power supply cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its Authorised Service Centre or similarly qualified persons to avoid an electrical hazard.

• Before any maintenance operation, deactivate the appliance and disconnect the mains plug from the socket.

• Do not use high pressure water sprays and/or steam to clean the appliance.

• Clean the appliance with a moist cloth. Use only neutral detergents. Do not use abrasive products, abrasive cleaning pads, solvents or metal objects.

• Only for use in air-conditioned environments.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Installation

The installation must comply with relevant national regulations.

• Remove all the packaging and the transit bolts including rubber bush with plastic spacer.
• Keep the transit bolts in a safe place. If the appliance is to be moved in the future they must be reattached to lock the drum to prevent an internal damage.
• Always take care when moving the appliance as it is heavy. Always use safety gloves and enclosed footwear.
• Do not install or use a damaged appliance.
• Follow the installation instructions supplied with the appliance.
• Do not install or use the appliance where the temperature can be less than 0°C or where it is exposed to the weather.
• The floor area on which the appliance is to be installed must be flat, stable, heat resistant and clean.
• Make sure that there is air circulation between the appliance and the floor.
• When the appliance is in its permanent position, check if it is levelled correctly with the aid of a spirit level. If it is not, adjust the feet accordingly.
• Do not install the appliance directly above a floor drain.
• Do not spray water on the appliance and do not expose it to excessive humidity.
• Do not install the appliance where the appliance door cannot be fully opened.
• Do not put a closed container to collect possible water leakage under the appliance. Contact the Authorised Service Centre to ensure which accessories can be used.

Electrical connection

WARNING! Risk of fire and electric shock.

• The appliance must be earthed.
• Always use a correctly installed shockproof socket.
• Make sure that the parameters on the rating plate are compatible with the electrical ratings of the mains power supply.
• Do not use multi-plug adapters and extension cables.
• Make sure not to cause damage to the mains plug and to the mains cable. Should the mains cable need to be replaced, this must be carried out by our Authorised Service Centre.
• Connect the mains plug to the mains socket only at the end of the installation. Make sure that there is access to the mains plug after the installation.
• Do not touch the mains cable or the mains plug with wet hands.
• Do not pull the mains cable to disconnect the appliance. Always pull the mains plug.
• This appliance complies with the E.E.C. Directives.

Water connection

• The inlet water shall not exceed 25 °C.
• Do not cause damage to the water hoses.
• Before connection to new pipes, pipes not used for a long time, where repair work has been carried out or new devices fitted (water meters, etc.), let the water flow until it is clean and clear.
• Ensure that there are no visible water leaks during and after the first use of the appliance.
• Do not use an extension hose if the inlet hose is too short. Contact the Authorised Service Centre for the replacement of the inlet hose.
• When unpacking the appliance, It is possible to see water flowing from the drain hose. This is due to the testing of the appliance with the use of water in the factory.

INSTALLATION

WARNING! Refer to Safety chapters.

• You can extend the drain hose to maximum 400 cm. Contact the Authorised Service Centre for the other drain hose and the extension.
• Make sure that there is access to the tap after the installation.

Use

WARNING! Risk of injury, electric shock, fire, burns or damage to the appliance.

• Follow the safety instructions on the detergent packaging.
• Do not put flammable products or items that are wet with flammable products in, near or on the appliance.
• Do not wash fabrics which are heavily soiled with oil, grease or other greasy substances. It can damage rubber parts of the washing machine. Prewash such fabrics by hand before loading them into the washing machine.
• Do not touch the glass door while a programme is in operation. The glass can get hot.
• Make sure that all metal objects are removed from the laundry.

Disposal

WARNING! Risk of injury or suffocation.

• Disconnect the appliance from the mains electrical and water supplies.
• Cut off the mains electrical cable close to the appliance and dispose of it.
• Remove the door catch to prevent children or pets from becoming trapped in the drum.
• Dispose of the appliance in accordance with local requirements for the disposal of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE).

Unpacking

WARNING! Remove all the packaging and the transit bolts before installing the appliance.

1. Use the gloves. Remove the external film. If necessary, use a cutter.

2. Remove the cardboard. Remove the polystyrene packaging materials, & the internal film.

3. Open the door. Remove the polystyrene piece from the door seal and all the items from the drum.

4. Put one of the polystyrene packaging elements on the floor behind the appliance. Carefully put down the appliance with the rear side on it.
   Make sure not to damage the hoses.

5. Remove the polystyrene protection from the bottom. Pull up the appliance in vertical position.

6. Remove the power supply cable and the drain hose from the hose holders.

7. Remove the three bolts. Use the key supplied with the appliance. Pull out the plastic spacers.

8. Put the plastic caps in the holes. You can find these caps in the user manual bag.
   We recommend that you keep the packaging and the transit bolts for any movements of the appliance.

Positioning and levelling

• Install the appliance on a flat hard floor.

• Make sure that carpets do not stop the air circulation below the appliance.

• Make sure that the appliance does not touch the wall or other units.

• Loosen or tighten the feet to adjust the level.

• A correct adjustment of the appliance level prevents the vibration, noise and the movement of the appliance when in operation.

• The appliance must be levelled & to be stable.

CAUTION! Do not put cardboard, wood or equivalent materials below the appliance feet to adjust the level.

The inlet hose

1. Connect the hose to the back of the appliance. Do not turn the inlet hose downwards, but turn it left or right depending on the position of your water tap.

2. Loosen the ring nut to fix it in the correct position.

3. Connect the water inlet hose to the cold water tap with 3/4 thread.

CAUTION! Make sure that there are no leaks from the couplings.
Use the hose supplied with appliance.
Do not use an extension hose if the inlet hose is too short. Contact the Authorised Service Centre for an inlet hose replacement.

Water drainage

There are different procedures to connect the drain hose:

• Hooked over the edge of a sink, In this case make sure the end cannot come unhooked when the machine will be emptied, This could be done by tying it to the tap with a piece of string or attaching it to the wall.
• In a sink drain pipe branch. This branch must be above the trap so that the bend is at least 60 cm above the ground.
• Directly into a drain pipe at a height of not less than 60 cm and not more than 90 cm, The end of the drain hose must always be ventilated, i.e. the inside diameter of the drain pipe must be larger than the outside diameter of the drain hose, The drain hose must not be twisted or curled. Run it along the floor; only the part near the drainage point must be raised.
  For the correct functioning of the machine, the drain hose must remain hooked on the top part of back side of the appliance.

When a programme is set, all the indicators of the phases related to the programme come on.
When the programme starts, only the indicator of the phase in operation flashes. When a phase is complete the indicator of the phase remains on.

2. This programme at 60 °C with a load of 8 kg is the reference programme for energy label, in compliance with UAE. S 5010 2:2019.

3. During this cycle the drum rotates slowly to ensure a gentle wash. It can seem that the drum doesn’t rotate or doesn’t rotate properly, but this is normal for this programme.

CONSUMPTION VALUES

Stated values are obtained in laboratory conditions with relevant standards. Different causes can change the data: the quantity and type of laundry and ambient temperature. Water pressure, the supply voltage and the temperature of inlet water may also affect the washing programme duration.

OPTIONS

Temp

Press this touchpad repeatedly to increase or decrease the wash temperature if you want your laundry to be washed at a temperature different from the default.
Indicator for cold water.

Spin

Press this touch pad repeatedly to increase or decrease the default spin speed.
The related spin speed indicator comes on.
Additional spin options: No Spin

• Set this option to remove all spin phases.
• Set it for very delicate fabrics.
• The rinse phase uses more water for some washing programmes.
• The related indicator comes on.

Rinse Hold

• The related indicator
• Set this option to prevent the laundry creases.
• The washing programme stops with the water in the drum. The drum turns regularly to prevent the laundry creases.
• The door stays locked. You must drain the water to unlock the door.
• The rinse hold indicator comes on.
  To drain the water refer to ‘At the end of the programme’.

Add Steam

Select this option to add approximately 30 minutes of tumbling in vapour during the wash cycle. Vapour helps open fabric fibers up to allow laundry additives to release tough stains. The indicator of this option will be on.
Vapour may not necessarily be visible inside the drum during a vapour wash cycle.
Vapour is created below the drum and allowed to naturally rise into the clothes.
Vapour may not be present during the entire vapour wash cycle.
Vapour function is more effective with half load. At the end of the Vapour cycle, the clothes will be warmer, softer and detached from the drum.
If Vapour option is selected, rinse temperatures will be elevated. During a vapour cycle, you may notice vapour exiting from the drain hose of the washing machine, this is normal and there is no cause for alarm.

Time Manager

This option allows you to adjust the wash time. Press this touch pad repeatedly to decrease or increase the wash time according to the soil level of your wash.
Use the table below as a guide.

1. Shortest: to fresh the laundry.
2. Longest: Increasing the programme duration gradually decreases the energy consumption. The optimized heating phase saves energy and the longer duration maintains the same washing results (specially for normal soil).

Prewash

Select this option if you wish your laundry to be pre-washed before the main wash. Use this option for heavy soil. The indicator of this option will be on.

Rinse+

With this option you can add some rinses to a washing programme. Use this option for persons allergic to detergents and in areas where the water is soft. The related phase indicator on the control panel comes on.

Easy Iron

The appliance carefully washes and spins the laundry to prevent the creases. The appliance decreases the spin speed, uses more water and adapts the
programme duration to the type of laundry. The related indicator comes on.

Delay end

With this option you can delay the start of a programme from minutes to hours.
The display shows the related indicator for example: .

Before you start the program, this option makes it possible to define the end of the washing program from minimum of 1 hour to maximum of 19 hours.

If program duration is longer than 3 hours, minimum Delay End option starts from 4 hours.
This option must be selected after choosing the washing program, and before pressing the “Start/ Pause” touch pad.

Press the Delay End touch pad to choose the end time as you wish. The display shows the number of hours and the indicator beside the touch pad is on.

For example:

1. at 3:00 PM, you need your clothes to be ready after 6 hours. The appliance will calculate the cycle duration, for example 3 hours, 20 minutes.

2. The appliance will start automatically at 5:40 PM.

3. Your clothes will be ready at 9:00 PM.

SETTINGS

ACOUSTIC SIGNALS

The acoustic signals operate when:

• The programme is completed.
• The appliance has a malfunction.
  To deactivate/activate the acoustic signals, press Rinse+ and Delay end at the same time for 6 seconds.
  If you deactivate the acoustic signals, they continue operate when the appliance has a malfunction.

CHILD LOCK

With this option you can prevent that the children play with the control panel.
To activate/deactivate this option, press Prewash and Rinse+ at the same time until the indicator comes on/ goes off.
You can activate this option:

• After you press : the options and the programme knob will be locked.
• Before you press : the appliance will not start.

Add Clothes

You can use this option if you forgot to add clothes in the beginning of the washing cycle.
You can only add clothes if the “Start/Pause” pilot light is lit.

While running a program, you may add clothes with the following steps:

• Pressing the “Start/Pause” touchpad to pause the program.
• Wait for the machine to come to a complete stop before opening the door.
• Add clothing and close the door.
• Resume the program by pressing “Start/Pause” touchpad again.

BEFORE FIRST USE

1. Make sure that the electrical and water connections comply with the installation instructions.
2. Remove the polystyrene block and any material from the drum.
3. Put a small quantity of detergent in the compartment for washing phase.
4. Set and start a programme for cotton at the highest temperature without laundry.

This removes all possible dirt from the drum and the tub.

DAILY USE

WARNING! Refer to Safety chapters.

Loading the laundry

Open the water tap. Connect the mains plug to the mains socket.

1. Pull the door handle to open the appliance door.

2. Put the laundry in the drum, one item at a time.

3. Shake the items before you put them in the appliance.
   Make sure not to put too much laundry in the drum. Refer to maximum loads indicated in “Programme chart”.

4. Close the door.

CAUTION! Check and remove objects (if there are any) that could be trapped in the fold.

Make sure that no laundry stays between the seal and the door to avoid water leakage or damage to the laundry.

Detergent compartments

CAUTION!
Use only specified detergents for washing machine.
Always obey the instructions that you find on the packaging of the detergent products.

Compartment “MAIN WASH”
Compartment for powder or liquid detergent used for main wash. If using liquid detergent, pour it just before starting the programme.
Detergent compartment for prewash or soak phase.

Compartment “PREWASH”
The prewash and soak detergent must be added at the beginning of the wash programme. Compartment for liquid additives (fabric conditioner, starch).
Compartment “SOFTENER”
Follow the product manufacturer’s recommendations on quantities to use and do not exceed the maximum mark in the detergent dispenser drawer.

Detergent flap

Flap for powder or liquid detergent.
Position down: for liquid detergent.
Position up: for powder detergent.

CAUTION! When you use the liquid detergent:

• Do not use gelatinous or thick liquid detergents.
• Do not put more liquid than the maximum level.
• Do not set the “Prewash” phase.
• Do not set the “Delay End”.

Using Detergent & Additives

Measure out the detergent and the fabric softener:

• Pull out the dispenser drawer until it stops.

• Measure out the amount of detergent required, pour it into the main wash compartment.

• If you wish to carry out the “Prewash” phase, pour it into the compartment marked .

• You can pour fabric softener into the compartment marked
  The amount used must not exceed the “MAX” mark in the drawer.
  If you use thick softeners it is recommended to dilute with water.

• Close the drawer gently.
  Residues of detergent, softener and water may remain in the dispenser. It is recommended to clean the dispenser regularly to remove any residue.

Bleach

Alternatively the softener, it is also possible to use a bleach agent in the compartment with the programmes for white cottons.
Proceed as follows:

1. Put the bleach in the compartment .
   Do not exceed the «MAX» mark in the detergent dispenser drawer.

2. Run a programme for white cottons.

3. At the end of the programme, run the programme RINSE. Use softener, if desired.
   This helps to eliminate any bleach residues.
   Never pour bleach and softener into the compartment at the same time.

Starting A Cycle

To start a program, move the knob to the desired program. The default program duration will be displayed on the screen.
You can choose the options & edit the settings before pressing the start/pause button.
If you press any touch pad or changed the selector programs while a program is operating, symbol — will flash on display along with buzzer sound. except Start/ Pause touch pad.

Autosense Function
At the start of the programme, During the washing phase the programme duration is automatically calculated and can be greatly reduced if the laundry load is lower than the maximum load capacity. (e.g. Cotton 30° programme , maximum load capacity 8 kg , the default programme duration exceeds 2 hours, in case of actual load 2 kg, the program duration will be reduced to only 1 hour 20 min).

Options Setting

If you want your laundry to spin or to use temperature different from the default of the washing machine, press the Spin and the temperature touch pads repeatedly to change the temperature and spin speed, the same for activating the different spin functions.

• Different functions can be combined which is dependent on the program selected.
• If an option is not compatible with the washing program selected symbol — will flash on display along with buzzer sound if activated.

If you want to adjust washing time, press the Time Manager touch pad repeatedly to increase or decrease washing time, for more details you can refer to Time Manager at Options chapter.
If you want to define the end of the washing program, press the Delay End touch pad repeatedly to choose when your washing machine will finish the program.

To cancel the Delay End option:

1. Press the Start/Pause button to set the appliance to pause. The indicator of button flashes.
2. Press the button Delay End until the display shows .
3. Press the Start/Pause button again to start the programme immediately.

Program Pause

To pause, press Start/ Pause . The indicator will start flashing, Press the
Start/Pause again. The program will continue.

Changing/Cancelling a Program

Changing a running program is possible only by switching off the appliance.
You can change the program as follow:

• Turn the knob to the “Off” position .
• Turn the program knob again to activate the appliance. Now, you can set a new washing programme. After setting the new washing program you can change any available options.
  Press Start/Pause to start the new program.

Changing The Options

It may be possible to change some of the options after a wash program has started as following:

1. Press the touch pad Start/Pause .
   The indicator will start flashing.

2. If available change the options that you wish.

3. Press Start/Pause again. The program will continue.

Opening The Door

While a program or the Delay End is operating, the appliance door is locked and the display shows the indicator . First, set the machine to PAUSE by pressing the “Start/Pause” touch pad. Wait until the door lock indicator goes off, then the door can be opened.
If the door lock indicator does not disappear, this means that the machine is already heating and the water level is above the bottom edge of the door or the drum is turning. In this case the door can’t be opened. If you need to open it, you must drain the water to open the door.
In case of emergency please refer to “Emergency door opening”

At The End Of The Program

The appliance stops automatically and The acoustic signal will operate.
The indicator of the touch pad Start/ Pause goes off and the door lock indicator goes off.
Remove the laundry from the appliance, make sure that the drum is empty, keep the door partly open, to prevent the mildew and odours, turn off the water tap.
At the end of the program, the time remaining can suddenly decrease from 7 minutes or less to 0 due to the overestimated total program time during the load sensing phase. In some cases (with perfectly balanced load) the program time can be shorter than the time estimated after the load sensing phase is completed. This is not a cause for concern as it does not affect the appliance performance.

HINTS AND TIPS

Sorting the Laundry

• Divide the laundry in: white, coloured, synthetics, delicate and wool.
• Obey the washing instructions that are on the laundry care labels.
• Some coloured items can discolour with the first wash. We recommend that you wash them separately for the first times.
• Button up pillowcases, close zippers, hooks. Tie up belts.
• Empty the pockets and unfold the items.
• Turn multilayered fabrics, wool and items with painted illustrations inside out.
• Remove hard stains with a special detergent.
• Wash and pre-treat heavy soil stains before putting items in the drum.
• Be careful with the curtains. Remove the hooks and put the curtains in a washing bag or pillowcase.
• Do not wash laundry without hems or with cuts. Use a washing bag to wash small and/or delicate items (e.g. underwired bras, belts, tights, etc. ).
• A very small load can cause balance problems with the spin phase. If this occurs, adjust manually the items in the tub and start the spin phase again.

Detergent type and quantity of detergent

The choice of detergent and use of correct quantities not only affects your washing performance, but also helps to avoid waste and protect the environment:

• Use only detergents and other treatments specially made for the type of the washing machines. First, follow these generic rules:

  • Powder detergents for all types of standard fabrics, except delicate. Prefer powder detergents containing bleach for whites and laundry sanitization,
  • Liquid detergents, preferably for low temperature washing programmes (60 °C max) for all standard types of fabric, or special ones for woollens only.

• The choice and quantity of the detergent will depend on: type of fabric (delicate, woollens, cottons, etc), the colour of clothes, size of the load, degree of soiling, wash temperature and hardness of the water used.

• Follow the instructions that you find on the packaging of the detergents or other treatments without exceeding the indicated maximum level ( MAX ).
  • Do not mix different types of detergents.

• Use less detergent if:

  • You are washing a small load,
  • The laundry is lightly soiled,
  • There is large amounts of foam during washing.

• When using detergent tabs or pods, always put them inside the drum, not in the detergent dispenser.

Insufficient detergent may cause:

• Unsatisfactory washing results,
• The wash load to turn grey,
• Greasy clothes,
• Mould in the appliance.

Excessive detergent may cause:

• Sudsing,
• Reduced washing effect,
• Inadequate rinsing,
• Greater impact on the environment.

Temperature

90°C| For normally soiled white cottons and linen (e.g. towels, tablecloths, sheets…).
---|---
50°C – 60°C| For normally soiled, colourfast garments (e.g. shirts, night dresses, pa‐ jamas….) in linen, cotton or synthetic fibres and for lightly soiled white cotton (e.g. underwear).
Cold – 30°C – 40°C| For delicate items (e.g. net curtains), mixed laundry including synthetic fi‐ bres and woollens bearing the label pure new wool, machine washable, non-shrink.

Maximum Loads

Delicate, Handwash,
Wool| Drum no more than one third full.

Recommended loads are indicated in the program charts.

Removing Stains

Stubborn stains may not be removed by just water and detergent. It is therefore advisable to treat them prior to washing.
Use the special stain remover that is applicable to the type of stain and fabric, Test the stain remover on small piece of the same garment before sage. Don’t use acetone on synthetic silk.
Here is some tips which could guide you for stubborn stains removal:

1. Blood: treat fresh stains with cold water. For dried stains, soak overnight in water with a special detergent then rub in the soap and water.
2. Oil based paint: moisten with benzine stain remover, lay the garment on a soft cloth and dab the stain; treat several times.
3. Dried grease stains: moisten with turpentine, lay the garment on a soft surface and dab the stain with the fingertips and a cotton cloth.
4. Rust: oxalic acid dissolved in hot water or a rust removing product used in cold water. Be careful with rust stains which are not recent since the cellulose structure will already have been damaged and the fabric tends to hole.
5. Mould stains: treat with bleach, rinse well (whites and fast coloureds only).
6. Grass: soap lightly and treat with bleach (whites and fast coloureds only).
7. Ball point pen and glue: moisten with acetone, lay the garment on a soft cloth and dab the stain.
8. Lipstick: moisten with acetone, then treat stains with methylated spirits. Remove any residual marks from white fabrics with bleach.
9. Ink: depending on the type of ink, moisten the fabric first with acetone, then with acetic acid; treat any residual marks on white fabrics with bleach and then rinse thoroughly.
10. Tar stains: first treat with stain remover, methylated spirits or benzine, then rub with detergent paste.

Ecological Hints

To save water, energy and to help protect the environment, we recommend that you follow these tips:

• Normal soiled laundry may be washed without prewash in order to save detergent, water and time (the environment will be protected too!).
• Loading the appliance to the maximum capacity indicated for each programmes helps to reduce energy and water consumption.

CARE AND CLEANING

WARNING! Refer to Safety chapters.

External cleaning

Clean the appliance with soap and warm water only. Fully dry all the surfaces.

CAUTION! Do not use alcohol, solvents or chemical products.

Descaling

If the water hardness in your area is high or moderate, we recommend that you use a water descaling product for washing machines.
Regularly examine the drum to prevent limescale and rust particles.

• With adequate pre-treatment, stains and limited soiling can be removed; the laundry can then be washed at a lower temperature.
• To use the correct quantity of detergent, refer to the quantity suggested by the detergent producer and check the water hardness of your domestic system. Refer to “Water hardness”.
• Set the maximum possible spin speed for the selected washing programme before drying your laundry in a tumble dryer. This will save energy during drying!

Water harness

If the water hardness in your area is high or moderate, we recommend that you use a water softener for washing machines. In areas where the water
hardness is soft it is not necessary to use a water softener.
To know the water hardness in your area, contact your local water authority.
Use the correct quantity of the water softener. Obey the instructions that you find on the packaging of the product.

To remove rust particles use only special products for washing machines. Do this separately from the laundry wash.
Always obey the instructions that you find on the packaging of the product.

Maintenance wash

With the low temperature programmes it is possible that some detergent stays in the drum. Perform a maintenance wash regularly. To do this:

• Remove all laundry from the drum.
• Select the cotton programme with the highest temperature with a small quantity of detergent.

Door seal

Regularly examine the seal and remove all objects from the inner part.

Cleaning the detergent dispenser

Clean regularly the washing powder and additive dispenser drawer.
To clean the detergent drawer it is necessary to remove it from its site.

1. Open the drawer.

2. Press the catch downwards as described in the graphic.

3. Pull the drawer out.

4. Remove the top part of the additive compartment to aid cleaning.

5. Flush it out under a tap, to remove any traces of accumulated powder.

6. Make sure that all washing powder residue is removed from the upper and lower part of the recess.

7. Use a small brush to clean the recess.

8. Close the drawer and run the rinse programme without any clothes in the drum.

Cleaning the drain filter

Regularly examine the drain pump and make sure that it is clean.
You will need to clean the pump if:

• The appliance does not drain the water.
• The drum cannot turn.
• The appliance makes an unusual noise because of the blockage of the drain pump.
• The display shows an alarm code because of the problem with water drain.

CAUTION! before start cleaning the drain filter

1. Disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket.
2. Do not remove the filter while the appliance is operating. Do not clean the drain pump if the water in the appliance is hot. The water must be cold before you clean the drain pump.

To clean the drain pump:

1. Open the drain pump door.

2. Pull the flap down.

3. Squeeze the legs on both sides of the cover together and pull out (as picture).

4. Place a suitable water containerbelow the recess of the drain pump to collect the water that flows out. Press the two levers and pull forward the drainage duct to let the water flow out.

5. When the container is full of water, close the drainage duct back again and empty the container. Do the previous step again and again until no more water flows out from the drain pump.

6. After Pulling back the drainage duct, turn the filter counter-clockwise, extract the filter.

7. Remove fluff and objects from the pump (if there are any).

8. Make sure that the impeller of the pump can turn. If this does not occur, contact the service centre.

9. Clean the filter under the water tap.

10. Put the filter back in the pump into the special guides. Make sure that you correctly tighten the filter to prevent leakages.

11. Put the flap back and close the drain pump door.

Cleaning the inlet hose and the valve filter

If your water is very hard or contains traces of lime deposit, the water inlet filter may become clogged. It is therefore a good idea to clean it from time to time.

To clean the water inlet filters:

1. • Close the water tap.
   • Remove the water inlet hose from the water tap.
   • Clean the filter in the inlet hose with a stiff brush.

2. Remove the inlet hose behind theappliance.

3. Clean the filter in the valve with a stiff brush or a towel.

4. Install the inlet hose again. Make sure that the couplings are tight to prevent leakages. Open the water tap.

Emergency drain

In case of a malfunction and the appliance cannot drain the water.

1. Disconnect the main plug from the main socket. Turn off the water tap.

2. Remove the water inlet hose.
   Remove the drain hose from the rear support and unhook it from sink.
   When no more water flows, install the inlet hose and the drain hose again.

Follow “Cleaning the drain filter” steps to be sure that the drain pump is not the responsible for clogging.
before starting a new cycle, put 2 litres of water in the main wash compartment of the detergent dispenser and Start a programme to drain the water.

Frost precautions

If the appliance is installed in an area where the temperature can be less than 0° C, remove the remaining water from the inlet hose and the drain pump.

1. Disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket.
2. Close the water tap.
3. Put the two ends of the inlet hose in a container and let the water flow out of the hose.
4. Empty the drain pump. Refer to the emergency drain procedure.
5. When the drain pump is empty, install the inlet hose again.

WARNING! Make sure that the temperature is higher than 0 °C before you use the appliance again.
The manufacturer is not responsible for damages caused by low temperatures.

TROUBLESHOOTING

WARNING! Refer to Safety chapters.

Introduction

The appliance does not start or it stops during operation.
First try to find a solution to the problem (refer to the table). If the problem persists, contact the Authorised Service Center
With some problems, the acoustic signals operate and the display shows an alarm code:

• – The appliance does not fill with water properly.
• – The appliance does not drain the water.
• – The appliance door is open or not closed correctly. Please check the door!
• – The mains supply is unstable. Wait until the mains supply is stable.
• – No communication between electronic elements of the appliance. Switch off and switch on again.

WARNING! Deactivate the appliance before you do the checks.

Possible failures

the mains socket.
• Make sure that the appliance door is closed.
• Make sure that there is not a damaged fuse in the fuse box.
• Make sure that the Start/Pause has been pressed.
• If the delay start is set, cancel the setting or wait for the end of countdown.
• Deactivate the Child Lock function if it is on.
• Make sure that the mains plug is connected to the mains socket.
The appliance does not
fill with water properly.| • Make sure that the water tap is open.
• Make sure that the pressure of the water supply is not too low. For this information, contact your local water authority.
• Make sure that the water tap is not clogged.
• Make sure that the filter of the inlet hose & the filter of the valve are not clogged. Refer to “Care & Cleaning”
• Make sure that the drain hose has no kinks or bends.
• Make sure that the connection of the drain hose is correct.
The appliance does not
fill with water and drain
immediately.| • Make sure that the drain hose is in the correct position.
The hose may be too low.
The appliance does not drain the water.| • Make sure that the sink spigot is not clogged.
• Make sure that the drain hose has no kinks or bends.
• Make sure that the drain filter is not clogged. Clean the filter, if necessary. Refer to “Care and cleaning”.
• Make sure that the connection of the drain hose is cor‐ rect.
• Set the drain programme if you set a programme without drain phase.
• Set the drain programme if you set an option which ends with water in the tub.
The spin phase does not operate or the washing cycle lasts longer than usually.| • Set the spin option.
• Set the drain option if you set an option which ends with water in the drum.
• Make sure that the drain filter is not clogged. Clean the filter, if necessary. Refer to “Care and cleaning”.
• Adjust manually the items in the tub and start the spin phase again. This problem may be caused by balance problems.
There is water on the floor.| • Make sure that the couplings of the water hoses are tight and there is not water leakages.
• Make sure that the drain hose have no damages.
• Make sure you use the correct detergent and the correct quantity of it.
You cannot open the
appliance door.| • Make sure that the washing programme is finished.
• Set the drain or the spin programme if there is water in the drum.
The appliance makes an unusual noise.| • Make sure the levelling of the appliance is correct. Refer to “Installation”.
• Make sure that the packaging and/or the transit bolts are removed. Refer to “Installation”.
• Add more laundry in the drum. The load may be too small.
• The laundry is not evenly distributed in the drum. Pause the machine and redistribute laundry manually.
• Unstable floors eg. wooden floors. => Refer to relevant paragraph in “Positioning” section.
The cycle is shorter
than the time displayed.| • The appliance calculates a new time according to the laundry load. See the “Auto sense function” at daily use chapter.
The cycle is longer than
the time displayed.| • An unbalanced laundry load increases the duration time.
This is a normal behaviour of the appliance.
The washing results are
not satisfactory.| • Increase the detergent quantity or use a different detergent.
• Use special products to remove the stubborn stains before you wash the laundry.
• Make sure that you set the correct temperature.
• Decrease the laundry load.
You cannot set an option.| • Make sure that you press only the wanted button(s).
No water is visible in the drum.| • Machines based on modern technology operate very economically using very little water without affecting performance.

After the check, activate the appliance. The programme continues from the point of interruption.
If the problem occurs again, contact the Authorised Service Centre.
If the display shows other alarm codes. Deactivate and activate the appliance. If the problem continues, contact the Authorised Service Centre.

Emergency Door Opening

In case of power failure or appliance failure, the appliance door remains locked. The wash program continues when power is restored. If the door
remains locked in case of failure, it is possible to open it using the emergency unlock feature.
Before opening the door:

WARNING! Make sure that the water temperature and the laundry are not hot. Wait until they cool down if necessary. Make sure that the drum is not rotating. Wait until the drum stops rotating if necessary.
Make sure that the water level inside the drum is not too high. If necessary, perform an Emergency Drain.

To open the door proceed as follows:

1. Switch off the appliance &
   Disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket.

2. Open the filter flap, pull the emergency unlock strap (red strap) downward,

3. While pulling the (red strap) downward, pull the door handle to open the door.

4. Take out the laundry.

5. Close the filter flap.
   If you are unable to identify or solve the problem, contact our service centre.
   Before calling service centre, make a note of the model, serial number and purchase date of your machine: the Service Centre will require this information.
