USE AND CARE

Fully extend the appliance’s power cable before each use.
Do not use the appliance if its accessories are not properly fitted.
Do not use the appliance if the accessories attached to it are defective. Replace them immediately.
Do not use the appliance while the jug is empty.
Do not use the appliance if the on/off switch does not work.
Do not move the appliance while in use.
Do not turn the appliance over while it is in use or connected to the mains.
Do not force the appliance’s work capacity.
Respect the MAX level indicator. (1500 ml).
When using hot liquids do not fill the jug more than half way. At all times, when mixing hot liquids in the jug, select the slowest speed on the speed selector.
– Store this appliance out of reach of children and/or persons with physical, sensory or reduced mental or lack of experience and knowledge.
Keep the appliance in good condition. Check that the moving parts are not misaligned or jammed and make sure there are no broken parts or anomalies that may prevent the appli-ance from operating correctly.
Never use liquids that are boiling or ingredients whose temperature exceeds 80ºC.
Do not use the jar immediately after taking it out of the dishwasher or the refrigerator, ensure that the jar is at room temperature.
Check that the lid is closed properly before starting the appliance.
Do not use the appliance for more than 2 minutes at a time. In case of operate in cycles; allow the appliance a resting period of at least 2 minutes between each cycle. Under no cir-cumstances should the appliance be operated for more time than necessary.
Do not use the appliance with frozen goods or those containing bones.
CAUTION: Do not use the appliance if the glass is cracked or broken.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

BEFORE USE:

Make sure that all products’ packaging has been removed.
Before using the product for the first time, clean the parts that will come into contact with food in the manner described in the cleaning section.

USE:

Extend the cable completely before plugging it in.
Ensure the blade fixing ring is fixed properly to the jar (by turning counter clockwise) before putting on the motor body. (Fig.1).
Place the jar onto to the motor unit until it fits properly into place (Fig.2).
Put the ingredients, after having first chopped them into small piece, into the jar with liquid (do not exceed the maximum marker).
Put the lid on the jar; make sure it is properly fixed in place.
Put the cup in the lid.
Connect the appliance to the mains.
The pilot light comes on.
Turn the appliance on, by using the selection knob.
If you wish to add more ingredients pull out the cup.
Add the ingredients and replace the cup.
To stop the appliance set the speed back to “0”.
To avoid a fierce start up of the fan, it is advis-able to start off from the lowest speed position and, once the fan has been switched on, progressively increase the speed to the desired position.

ELECTRONIC SPEED CONTROL:

The speed of the appliance can be regulated by using the speed regulator control (I). This function is very useful, as it makes it possible to adapt the speed of the appliance to the type of work that needs to be done.

ONCE YOU HAVE FINISHED USING THE APPLIANCE:

Stop the appliance, selecting position 0 on the selector control.
Unplug the appliance from the mains.
Lift the jar from the motor body.
Clean the appliance.

“PULSE / ICE CRUSH” FUNCTION

The appliance works in highest speed to achieve optimal performance.
This function gives optimal result for ice-crush-ing, up to desired snowy level.
Trun the speed selector knob to the left to operate the Pulse function (J).
We recommend working by turning the knob in cycles of 3 seconds and repeating the opera-tion until you obtain the desired result.

SAFETY THERMAL PROTECTOR:

The appliance has a safety device, which pro-tects the appliance from overheating.
If the appliance turns itself off and does not switch itself on again, disconnect it from the mains supply, and wait for approximately 15 minutes before reconnecting. If the machine does not start again seek authorised technical assistance.

CLEANING

Disconnect the appliance from the mains and allow it to cool before undertaking any cleaning task.
Clean the equipment with a damp cloth with a few drops of washing-up liquid and then dry.
Do not use solvents, or products with an acid or base pH such as bleach, or abrasive products, for cleaning the appliance.
Do not let water or any other liquid get into the air vents to avoid damage to the inner parts of the appliance.
Never submerge the appliance in water or any other liquid or place it under running water.
During the cleaning process, take special care with the blades, as they are very sharp.
If the appliance is not in good condition of cleanliness, its surface may degrade and inexorably affect the duration of the appliance’s useful life and could become unsafe to use.
The following pieces may be washed in a dish-washer (using a soft cleaning program):
- Jug.
- Cup.
- Lid.
Then dry all parts before its assembly and storage.

SELF-CLEANING FUNCTION

Put water and a small amount of washing up liqui in the jar.
Select the function “turbo”.

REMOVABLE BLADES FOR EFFECTIVE CLEANING (JAR BLENDER ONLY)

Disconnect the appliance from the mains and allow it to cool before undertaking any cleaning task.
Loosen the jar base by turning it in counter-clockwise direction. (Fig.3).
Remove the blade set, sealing blade ring and jar base and clean them. (Fig.4).
After cleaning, replace the blade set and turn blade fixing ring in opposite direction. (Fig.5).

Warranty

Thank you for purchasing a Taurus product. Taurus guarantees that your product has been thoroughly inspected and tested before being dispatched and is free from mechanical and electrical defects and complies with the ap-plicable safety standards. With every Taurus product purchased you get a 2 year warranty as detailed in the terms and conditions below.

First Year – 1 Year Retail Warranty:
Should defects due to faulty parts or workmanship develop, under normal domestic use, within 12 months from the original date of purchase please return the product to the store from where it was purchased for a refund or replacement.
Second Year – 1 Year Extended Warranty Taurus takes pride in their product quality and therefore offer an extended 12 month warranty over and above the 1 Year Retail Warranty. Should defects due to faulty material or workmanship develop, under normal domestic use, after the 12 month period and within 24 months from the origi-nal date of purchase, please return the product postage pre-paid to Taurus for repair. Taurus will re-pair the product free of charge and return it to you directly. Taurus will replace a product with a similar product in the same or better condition, if the repair cannot be conducted for whatever reason. NB: The 1 Year Extended Warranty is only valid for customers who have registered their warranty online at www.taurusappliances.co.za within the first year after making their purchase. See overleaf for details and instructions.
Before returning your product, check the following:

Your household mains supply socket is in good condition, working and switched on.
The mains supply circuit is not overloaded (White trip switch on your DB board is off).
You have read the trouble shooting guide in your Instructions for Use.
All accessories and parts are present.

The following conditions apply:

Please ensure you retain your receipt as this must be presented when making a claim under the terms of the guarantee. It is impossible to determine the guarantee period without proof of purchase, so please keep this in a safe place. (NB. Your guarantee can be scanned onto the Taurus web site for safe storage – see reverse side for details.)
If a refund or exchange is required the product must be complete with all accessories, parts and packaging. Missing parts will render the guarantee void.
Upon receipt of your appliance, check it for any trans-port damage to ensure it is safe for use. Return it to the store as soon as possible for exchange if damaged. The guarantee is void if products are damaged after use, so please do not use the damaged product.
Your product is designed for normal domestic house-hold use. Failure to read and comply with the instructions for use, cleaning and maintenance will render your guarantee void, so please read these instructions carefully to ensure your safety, and to get the most effective use from the product. (e.g. not removing lime scale; water deposits; insect infestation, and/or burnt products)
Any abuse, negligent, improper or accidental use or care will render the guarantee void and Creative Housewares (Pty) Ltd will not be liable for any loss or damage.
Any attempted repair, or replacement of unauthorised parts will render the guarantee void, so please contact an authorised service centre or service agent for any service or repair requirements.
NB: The guarantee on replaced products will be from the original date of purchase and not from when the date replacement was made.
All repairs carry a 3 month guarantee even if this falls outside of the 2 year guarantee period.
Taurus will attempt to conduct repairs within reasonable time in line with industry standards but cannot be held responsible or liable for any circumstances not under our control.

Repairs Out of the Warranty Period
If service or repair becomes necessary outside the warranty period, this service is still available however all transport/postage, spares and labour costs will be for the customers’ account. All chargeable repairs will require the customers’ written acceptance of the quote. Once the go-ahead has been received Taurus will undertake to conduct the repair within a reasonable time and maintain the condition of the product as received. All repairs are guaranteed for 3 months from the date of the repair.

Please send all products for repair postage pre-paid to one of the service centres listed on the back of this page.

If you haven’t done so already, simply visit www.taurusappliances.co.za, click on the “Product Registration” link and follow the easy instructions. You will receive a username and password once registered. This will give you access to your user profile.

Click on “Register your products and upload receipts” and follow the easy instructions.
Scan and upload your receipt.

Notes:

The online warranty system is a safe storage facility for your receipt.
You will be required to register on the Taurus website. You will receive a username and password once registered. This will give you access to your profile.
From your profile you will be able to load products that you have purchased. In order to successfully register your warranty you will need to scan and upload your receipt to us.
All instructions on how to load your products are available inside your profile.
