Putting on the harness

To put on the harness, open the leg loops (f) and the chest strap (c). The pilot puts the harness on by placing the shoulder straps over the shoulders and closing both leg straps in the correct side position. The last step is to close the chest strap with the integrated fall-out protection. In the further preparation for take-off, the harness is connected to the paraglider via the main carabiners. The rescue system is optionally attached to these main carabiners on the Logo! Easy, the rescue system is optionally attached to these main carabiners. Please refer to the operating manual of the front container used.

Adjustment possibilities:

Adjustment options are available on the shoulder straps, the chest strap, the side chest straps and the leg loops. Due to the versatile adjustment possibilities of the Logo! series, we definitely recommend that all adjustment options are tried out and adjusted in a simulator before the first flight to ensure optimum sitting comfort.
The buckles used on chest and leg straps are secured against accidental opening. To open these buckles, both snappers must be pressed at the same time.
Adjust the chest strap:
The chest strap is closed with the T-lock of the fall-out safety device. When the chest strap is closed, the fall-out safety device is also closed. The buckle must audibly engage! The length of the chest strap is adjusted using the buckle and should not be tightened too much.
Adjusting the shoulder straps:
It should be noted that when properly adjusted, the shoulder straps can be felt with slight pressure on the shoulders. The shoulder straps are used to adjust the seat to the body size and to adjust the sitting position from upright to supine.
Adjusting the lateral chest straps:
The adjustment of the lateral chest straps is the third step and enables the variation of the sitting position from upright to supine on the one hand, and on the other hand the most comfortable sitting position can be found with the lateral chest straps. When adjusting, make sure that the body load is evenly distributed between the shoulder strap and the side chest strap.
Adjusting of the leg straps:
When putting on the harness, make sure that the buckles audibly click into place. When adjusting the length of the leg straps, make sure that they are always tightened but not constricting, as the legs should still have some slack during the take-off and landing phase.
Attaching the speed bar:
The position of the speedbar line can be seen in the pictures. Seen from the riser as follows: Pulley above the seat board (n), guide tube (m). The speed bar lineleaves the harness at the front edge of the seat board via the ring (p). The retrieval rubber (o) is knotted to the speed bar.
The length of the speed bar line must be adjusted in the simulator before the flight!!!

Mounting the rescue parachute (Logo! Pro / Pro+ only)

The Logo! Pro / Pro+ has an depoloyment bag with integrated release handle. For this reason the correct deployment bag size must be determined before the first combination with the rescue parachute.
The volume of the rescue parachute must be known. Alternatively the volume can be roughly calculated from the weight of the reserve.
As a rule of thumb the weight can be multiplied by 3. Example: 1500 gr x 3 = 4500 ccm volume. The harness size Small is delivered with the Small deployment bag as standard. All other harness sizes are delivered with the Medium deployment bag. In a few individual cases, a different deployment bag size may be necessary.
Therefore, with the Logo! Pro / Pro+ you can choose from 2 deployment bag sizes. Only original deployment bags may be used!

deployment bag size „Small“| from 2800 ccm to 4600 ccm| (approx. dimensions: 24206 cm)
---|---|---
deployment bag size „Medium“| from 4000 ccm to 6500 ccm| (approx. dimensions: 29206 cm)

3.1. Placing the rescue parachute into the deployment bag:
After selecting the appropriate deployment bag size, the rescue parachute is placed into the deployment bag.
The packing steps up to the shown position are carried out according to the operating instructions of the rescue parachute!
The following instructions show an example of how to assemble an Annular Evo. Other systems are installed in the equivalent manner. Steerable systems (e.g. Rogallo systems) can only be installed in the Logo! Pro / Pro+ only after explicit approval by the rescue parachute manufacturer!

  1. Fold the parachute like a “S” on the width of the container, pull out the Ram-Air-pockets a little bit to the side (if the parachute is equipped with Ram-Airpockets).

  2. Remove the packing cord!

  3. Place the parachute canopy in the deployment bag in large, horizontal S-shapes. Bundle the lines and place them on the canopy. Do not bundle the last 40 cm or so of lines.
Attention: new rubber bands must always be used for each packing!

  4. Close the deployment bag with the help of a packing cord.
First close the right container wing with the left one. Depending on the size of the rescue parachute, the outer or inner eyelets can be used for closing.

  5. Close the upper and lower container wings and secure them with the lines.
    Remove the packing cord.

3.2. Mouting the deployment bag into the harness:

  1. Guide the Y-bridle in the channel down to the parachute container.
Close the zip of the channel completely. To do this, push the slider once completely from the bottom to the top. Make sure that the beginning of the zipper (yellow circle) is completely closed to prevent unintentional opening.

  2. Loop the bridle of the reserve into the bridles of the harness or connect it with a quick link (strength >2400 daN). Fix the connection (e.g. with a neoprene tube) to prevent slipping.

  3. Stow the bridle in the harness container. Place the deployment bag in the harness container with the lines pointing downwards.

  4. Close the container with the loops and the help of packing cords (a,b,c). The handle-deployment bag is placed between loop b) and c), the release handle is placed in the slot.

  5. Close the tension band with the packing cords.

  6. Close the rear container flap.

  7. Close the front container flap and secure it with the cables.

  8. Insert the excess cable from b) and c) into the slot in the container flap.

  9. Remove all packing cords! Close covers.

  10. Secure handle with sealing thread (see arrow).

How to secure the release handle (Logo! Pro / Pro+ only):
To avoid an unintentional opening it is obligatory to use a seal thread in the opening mechanism. This defines a minimum opening force. This special thread must be put through the loop at the release handle and harness and has to be fixed by a knot. (See picture 10 green arrow)
To secure the pin it is only allowed to use certified material because if the strength of this material is too high the save operation of the rescue system is not guaranteed.
This thread is supplied by Flymarket GmbH & Co. KG! Do not use other threads which may look the same!
Attention:
After every installation of a rescue-system in a harness there must be a test if the opening force is between 2 and 7 daN. If harness and rescue parachute are combined the first time a compatibility check have to be performed by an authorized person!
The compatibility must be confirmed in the parachute repack log book.

Operating notes:

Activation of the rescue system (Logo! Pro / Pro+ only):
The rescue sytem is activated by pulling the rescue system release handle sideways outwards. Other pulling directions (for example forward towards the pilot) can lead to higher deployment forces, in the worst case to a blockade.
The pin unlocks through the pull and releases the deployment bag of the rescue system attached to the handle. With a powerful throw the deployment bag is thrown together with the handle in the open air space.
Depending on the emergency situation, the best throwing direction may vary for a quick opening of the rescue system.
Operation of the protector:
The Logo series has a type certified back protector made out of a special foam, which is sewn in a nylon fabric cover. Before every take off you have to check that the protector is completely filled up with air. Especially on low temperatures and after long disuse of the protector (if compressed during storage) it may take a little longer to be inflated completely.
During a hard landing the air inside of the protector will be compressed and the air will be deflated through the seams of the nylon fabric cover. The resulting deceleration distributes the impact energy over a longer period and protects the spine from extreme peak loads. The G-forces achieved in the type certification were very good. However, even the best back protection does not guarantee the prevention of back injuries!!! For this reason, the protector should not be used for unnecessary seat board landings. With every use the protector will be less efficient and the effect of protection less – even if no damage is visible. If a damage is visible the protector is not to be used anymore as well as after a hard landing!! In this case the protector
must be exchanged or repaired from an authorised dealer/workshop.
Before use of the harness the following points should be checked:

  • Outer shell of the protector and the entire belt system intact?
  • Protector fully inflated?
  • Rescue container and release handle properly closed and mounted?
  • Acceleration system (if mounted) properly mounted and adjusted?
  • All harness buckles properly closed and adjusted?

Maintenance / service life of the protector:
The protector is almost maintenance free. Before each take off the protector should be checked if in right position and fully inflated. The protector is, because of to the mounting position between rescue container and seat board, protected from mechanical damage. Visible damage (holes, cracks) must be repaired, otherwise the outer shell can break during an impact with a loss of damping.
After a hard landing with the use of the protector and if a damage is visible the protector must be repaired or exchanged by the manufacturer or an authorised dealer/workshop.
Tandem flights:
The Logo! Easy is only suitable as a passenger harness. As a pilots harness the Logo Pro / Pro+ it is not suitable because the rescue system container will not fit for a tandem rescue system.
Towing:
The Logo! series is suitable for towing if the main carabiners are used as attachment points for the towing release. There are no separate attachment points to mount a towing release!
Please check the towing release manual for a correct adaption on the harness.
Behavior in particular cases
During water and strong wind landings the pilot should disconnect himself as soon as possible from the paraglider / harness after landing. For that please loosen the leg belts and then open the leg and chest buckles. We generally recommend to carry a webbing cutter!
For tree landings, etc. the pilot should first secure himself against a possible crash and should wait for professional help. Contrary to above recommendations, it is possible that a different behavior as described is required. The variety of possible situations not allows an universal or general advise for the right behavior. The right behavior is a case-to-case decision in full responsibility of the pilot.
Lifetime and replacement of parts, repair advice
The Logo! series is designed for high loads and stress. High demands were set in the choice of materials. The lifetime of the harness depends on a high degree of awareness and treatment of the pilot. We recommend to inspect the harness periodically for signs of wear. If necessary damaged components must be replaced.
Damaged components may only be repaired by the manufacturer or an authorized workshop. Only original parts are to be used!
If the harness is dirty, clean it only with water. Avoid mechanical stress as brush and rub. Chemical cleaners will damage fabric and webbing.
Only Logo! Pro / Pro+: Except the rubber bands of the deployment bag and sealing thread no spare part is necessary.
Only approved rubber bands with the size of 30x3x1 mm ir 25x3x1x mm should be used. An inexpensive purchase is possible through us.
Maintenance, inspection, periodic check:
The Logo! series is almost maintenance free but it requires a regular check for damage. Regular inspection gives you the guarantee of a full function of the harness.
Take particulary care that no dirt gets into the mechanic of the buckles and that all moving parts of the buckle are running free and are not damaged. If needed you can oil the buckles a little bit.
The maintenence of the protector is described separate.
The harness must undergo at least after 24 months a complete check. The carabiner must be replaced according the carabiner manufacturer instructions, lately after 1000 hours or 5 years. Only original carabiners are to be used! The periodic check must be documented.
Storage and transport:
In order to prevent unnecessary weakening of the harness we recommend for storage and transport:

  • avoid high temperatures (for example: closed car in summer)
  • avoid dealing with fire, sharp objects and chemicals close the harness
  • avoid unnecessary long exposure to sunlight as ultraviolet radiation destroys the molecular structure of the material
  • avoid contact with salt water or acid liquids
  • if the harness is not in use for a long time, especially the back protector should not be stored compressed. Store the harness in a cool, dry place.

Disposal:
The materials used in a paragliding harness require proper disposal. Please return the worn-out equipment to us. The equipment will be disposed properly by us.
Nature- and environment friendly behaviour:
Actually it’s self evident, but nevertheless mentioned particularly: Please do our nature near sport in a way which do not stress nature and environment!
Please do not walk beside the marked ways, don’t leave your litter, don’t make unnecessary loud noises and respect the sensitive balance in the mountains.
Especially at the take-off we have to take care for the nature!
