INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
The following information is essential for the validity of the warranty.
- The installation must:
- be carried out by a qualified installer and comply with all applicable regulations;
- Provide, where necessary, a pressure reducer for the incoming water.
- Provide a safety valve set at a pressure lower than the maximum pressure indicated on the storage tank’s technical data plate.
- Provide an expansion vessel (see expansion vessel sizing table) proportioned to the dimensions of the storage tank (it is advisable to have the size calculated by a specialised technician).
- Guarantee enough space to perform maintenance operations.
- Provide a spill-proof tank, suitably connected to a siphoned drain of sufficient capacity to contain any accidental water spills, if any spills would cause damage to property.
- Be carried out in an environment where the boiler cannot freeze and, in any case, where it is not exposed to the elements.
- The temperature of the contents of the boiler must always be below 95°C.
- The cylinder are not designed for vacuum or negative pressure applications.
- The product is not designed to withstand external loads from wind and/or earthquakes.
- The product is not designed to withstand loads through the connections.
- Carry out a leak test to check that the connections are tight.
- Always use suitable equipment to lift and transport the product. It is recommended to always move the tanks when they are empty.
- Boilers manufactured by Baxi S.p.a. are protected by an enamelling treatment in accordance with Standard DIN 4753 and are suitable to contain water for domestic use with the following characteristics:
- hardness 15°F ÷ 30°F;
- pH 6,5 ÷ 8;
- chlorides < 70 ppm;
- free chlorine < 3 ppm.
- Maintenance must:
- Be carried out when the system is stopped, disconnected from any electrical power supplies and with the tank empty. Before proceeding with maintenance operations, check the temperature and pressure conditions of the system.
- Be carried out by a specialised technician at least once a year. While carrying out maintenance, the technician must:
- a) check the efficiency of all the safety valves installed in the system;
- b) check the pre-charge pressure of the expansion vessels and, if necessary, restore it.
- Failure to comply with the above will invalidate the Conventional Warranty.
- Disposal must take place:
- At the end of the service life of the product. Dispose of the product according to the laws in force in the country of installation. The components (metallic and non-etallic) must be taken to an authorised recycling company. The product must not be treated as household waste.
DIMENSIONING OF THE EXPANSION TANK:
The volume of the expansion vessel must be carefully dimensioned by a thermal-
engineering.
