Before using for the first time
  • Please first read these operating instructions and the safety instructions carefully.
  • Remove all packing material first and dispose of it properly.
  • Wipe the housing with a moist cloth and dry thoroughly.
  • Please clean the cold stone with warm water and a sponge. Do not use dishwashing detergent.
  • You can clean the pans and the spatulas with hot water and some mild dishwashing detergent. Please thoroughly dry all parts.
  • Prepare the stone as described in „Care instructions for the stone“, then place it on top of the raclette device with the juice groove facing upwards. Ensure that it lies safely in the support.
  • Heat the empty device for approx. 10 minutes; the slight smoke and odor that will probably be produced is completely harmless. This is only protective oil, which was applied during production. Ensure good ventilation of the room during this period!

Care instructions for the stone:

  • Due to natural conditions, there may be variations in the color and – structure of the stone. This is not a defect nor does it adversely affect function. On the contrary, this emphasizes the fact that the stone is a natural product and that t herefore no two stones are the same.
  • To ensure that your new product brings many years of enjoyment, please follow these care instructions thoroughly.
  • Because this stone is a natural product, it can have internal stresses. These could lead to cracks or even breakage of the stone if the t emperature is changed too quickly. This can be largely avoided by observing the following the one-time procedure. This will increase the stability of the stone and “relieve” the internal stresses. Nonetheless, small cracks can appear in the stone during later use, which do not have an adverse effect on the function. Stones with small cracks are therefore excluded from the warranty and from replacement. The color of your stone will change during this process and in later use.
  1. First, clean the stone under running warm water.
  2. Thoroughly dry the stone with a cloth.
  3. Now, place the stone on the grate in the cold oven and heat it to 220°C.
  4. Switch off the oven after approximately 40 minutes and allow the stone to cool slowly to room temperature.
  5. Caution: Never chill the stone with cold water, to avoid temperature shock!

Your stone is now ready for further use.

Use

  • Use a washable, heat-resistant surface because of the possible risk of spattering.
  • Caution: Please ensure that the power cable and pans do not touch the heating coils!
  • Place the stone on the device with the juice groove facing upwards. Never place the cold slab on the preheated device.
  • Insert the plug into the power outlet.
  • Switch on the device and allow it to preheat for approx. 8 – 10 minutes so that the stone slab reaches operating temperature.
  • Cover the stone and the pans when needed with a thin coating of oil, butter, etc.
  • You can now fry the prepared pieces of meat, fish or vegetables on the hot stone.
  • Caution: Do not place any deep-frozen ingredients on the slab.
  • Place the desired ingredients in the pans and place these on the rack beneath the heating rod.
  • As soon as the ingredients are done, remove the pans. In order to avoid scratches on the finish, empty the pans with wooden or heat-resistant spatulas only.
  • Caution: The pans are hot. For this reason, touch them by the heat resistant handles only and also place them on heat resistant coasters.
  • We recommend that you do not leave the device on for an extended period with no food on it. Switch it off during extended pauses and then on again as needed.
  • Do not forget to pull the plug to switch off the device at the end of your raclette enjoyment.

Tips and tricks

  • Do not heat empty pans in the device and do not leave the pans in the hot device after use; residues in the pans will burn and then be very difficult to remove.
  • Cut the meat or fish into bite-sized pieces. These will get done more quicker.
  • Lightly brush meat or solid fish with oil before you place it on the hot stone. As an alternative, you can marinate it first.

Cleaning and care

  • Always pull the plug before cleaning the device and allow the device to cool off.
  • Do not use any sharp or pointed objects, gasoline, solvent, scrubbing brushes, or abrasive cleaning agents for cleaning.
  • Clean the hot stone with hot water and a firm sponge only. You can easily remove food residues with a glass cook top cleaner. Do not use dishwashing detergent and do not clean the stone in a dishwasher.
  • Only wipe the housing with a moist sponge, dry afterwards, if necessary. Do not submerge the device in water or other liquids. Do not clean in the dishwasher.
  • You can clean the pans and the spatulas with hot water and some mild dishwashing detergent.

Recommendation

  • Meat: Use meat that is suitable for pan frying, such as: Beef rump steak, filet steak and filet tips, Pork, veal, or lamb filet, schnitzel, medallions Smoked pork chops, bratwurst, bacon, or mini-burgers. Take care to not cut the slices too thick. The meat is more tender if it is marinated in or lightly brushed with oil first.

  • Poultry: Fry small pieces whole, please cut up large pieces. We recommend marinating the meat before frying it.

  • Fish: Filets or slices of angler fish, salmon, cod, and other species
with firm meat are highly recommended; but sardines, prawns, scampi, and squid are also well-suited.

  • Vegetables: Divide the vegetables into portions and cut them into slices or strips. Hard types of vegetables such as fennel, broccoli, or cauliflower should be blanched briefly first in boiling water so that they do not have to cook so long.

  • Eggs: Fried eggs or crêpes can be made just as easily as in a pan.

  • Fruit: Apples or pears, pineapple and apricots – in wedges, rings or halves, strewn with sugar they are a delicious dessert.
