Troubleshooting Guide
Introduction
Through our customer’s feedback, we have compiled a trouble guide for the inverter during use, which you can read before installing and using to avoid some problems caused by the usage method. You can also refer to it to solve the problem when you encounter it in use.Thank you for purchasing the NOVOPAL Power Inverter.
A. Case :
Overload
Possible causes: the output power exceeds the machine tolerance range
Solution:
- Reduce the load or disconnect the equipment that causes overload
- When the inverter is turned off, due to overload, the machine will be Locked in the off state, you need to manually turn off the switch and then turn it back on again
B. Case :
Undervoltage
Possible causes of the problem:
- the battery voltage is too low
- DC input line is too thin and too long higher capacity load, or input line and battery connection loosened.
- The battery is too old, aging seriously.
- The battery capacity is not enough to push the higher capacity load.
- Use alligator clips to connect the battery. Resulting in insufficient power supply
Solution:
- Please charge the battery
- Use a thicker wire between the battery and the inverter and tighten all DC input connections
- Check if the battery is normal
- Make sure the battery capacity is sufficient to run your device.
- Use bolted connections and make sure the connections are secure and tight.
C. Case:
Over-voltage
Possible causes of the problem:
- DC voltage input is too high, reaching the inverter shutdown threshold of 15.5V +- 0.5V
Solution:
- Turn off the AC load and inverter
- Disconnect the DC input of the inverter
- Check the battery and charger output DC voltage is lower than the threshold value of 15.5V +-0.3V
- Check if the battery voltage matches the inverter
Tip: Once the voltage drops to 14.5+-0.5V the machine will automatically recover. Too high a voltage can cause permanent damage to the inverter
D. Case:
Over temperature
Possible causes of the problem:
- Over load
- confined environment use
- fan is faulty, not turning
- over temperature
Solution
- Over load, reduce the power with the load
- placed in a ventilated, cool and dry place to use
- placed in a cool, ventilated place, cool for a period of time, then use
E. Case:
short circuit
Possible causes of the problem: short circuit in the equipment with a load
Solution:
remove the short-circuit equipment, automatically restore the output
F. Case:
reverse connection
May lead to: the machine internal fuse fuse
Solution:
replace the fuse
G. Case:
inverter no DC input voltage
Solution:
check the DC side wire connection
Note: the power of inductive load electrical equipment at startup is much
higher than the rated power (the power at startup can be 2-7 times the rated
power)
For example, if the rated power of a refrigerator is 300W, the power at
startup can reach 300W*3=900W, so you need to choose a 1000W inverter.
What are the common inductive load appliances?
Coffee machine, microwave oven, air conditioner, refrigerator, electric motor,
welding machine, electric drill, etc.
It is also important to ensure that the battery can provide continuous and
stable current input. If you need to use high-power devices, the recommended
minimum battery capacity reference table (you cannot choose a lower capacity
battery than this)
Inverter Model | Battery capacity |
---|---|
1000w | 12v |
1500w | 12v |
1500w | 24v |
2000w | 12v |
