Before getting started, ensure the package contains the following components:

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

Read these instructions carefully and retain them for future use. If this product is passed to a third party, then these instructions must be included.
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons including the following:

  • Always attach the plug to the appliance first, then plug the cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to “off”, then remove the plug from the wall outlet.
  • Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during the brewing cycles.
  • A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
  • Extension cords may be used if care is exercised in their use.
  • If an extension cord is used:
    • The marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance.
    • The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.
  • The water level must be between the MIN and MAX marks. Note that if the kettle is overfilled, boiling water may spill and may scald the user.
  • This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug will fit the outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the plug in any way.
  • Do not use a cracked container or a container having a loose or weakened handle.
  • Do not clean the container with cleansers, steel wool pads, or other abrasive material.
  • Do not immerse in water.

Intended Use

  • This product is intended for boiling drinking water.
  • This product is intended for household use only. It is not intended for commercial use.
  • This product is intended to be used in dry indoor areas only.
  • No liability will be accepted for damages resulting from improper use or non-compliance with these instructions.

Before First Use

  • Check for transport damages.
  • Clean the product before first use.
  • Before connecting the product to the power supply, check that the power supply voltage and current rating correspond with the power supply details shown on the product rating label.

Danger Risk of suffocation! Keep any packaging materials away from children -these materials are a potential source of danger, e.g. suffocation.

Operation

Placing the base

  • Use a stable and level surface for the base (E).
  • Wind the excess cable onto the cable winder (F).
  • Pass the cable through the cable passage (G).
  • Connect the plug to a power outlet.

Boiling water

NOTICE Discard the first batch of boiled water from the product to make sure any leftover dust or elements from manufacturing are eliminated.

  • Push the lid opening button (J).
  • Fill the kettle (C) with water. The water level must be between the MIN and MAX marks.
  • Close the lid (K).
  • Place the kettle (C) on the base (E).
  • Push down the switch (H). The LED circle (D) at the bottom of the kettle lights up. The boiling procedure begins.
  • The product switches off automatically when the water is boiling.

Caution Risk of scalding! To prevent water from spilling over, the lid (K) must be closed when pouring.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Warning Risk of electric shock! To prevent electric shock, unplug before cleaning.
Warning Risk of electric shock! During cleaning do not immerse the electrical parts of the product in water or other liquids. Never hold the base under running water.
Warning Risk of burns! The kettle is hot during and after the operation. Allow the kettle to cool down before touching it. Always use the handle to move the kettle.

  • To clean, wipe with a soft, slightly moist cloth.
  • Dry the product after cleaning.
  • Never use corrosive detergents, wire brushes, abrasive scourers, or metal or sharp utensils to clean the product.
  • Inside the spout (B) there is a filter (A). It retains lime deposits and coarse impurities. If the filter is dirty, remove it and rinse it with clear water.
    • To loosen the filter: Carefully push the clip of the filter on the inside towards the center.
    • To replace the filter: Push it into the opening until the clip locks.

Descaling

  • Fill the product to the MAX mark with a 5-15 % vinegar solution.
  • Search on the product. Let the solution reach boiling temperature.
  • Wait until the limescale has dissolved.
  • Pour the solution into the drain.
  • Rinse the product thoroughly with clear water.
