WARNING
PERSONAL INJURY
DO NOT USE these products as safety or emergency stop devices or in any other
application where the failure of the product could result in personal injury.
Failure to comply with these instructions could result in death or serious
injury.
WARNING
OPENING PRODUCTS HAZARD
DO NOT OPEN these products when energized or in a flammable gas atmosphere.
Failure to comply with these instructions could result in death or serious
injury.
WARNING
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
- The connection cable on the switch must be fixed and mechanically protected when installed.
- If the switch is mounted outdoors, cover the switch’s cable with the conduit of a suitable protection class.
- If the cable fitted to this product is terminated within the potentially explosive atmosphere, the terminations must be made within an enclosure certified as flameproof (protection type ‘d’) or increased safety (protection type ‘e’).
Failure to comply with these instructions could result in death or serious injury.
Routine Maintenance
It is important to appreciate that the safe operation of your machine will depend upon the safe efficient working of all components and devices, which would include these switches. It is essential that a regular maintenance routine for the machine is established and that the routine should specifically cover all components that interface with these switches. It is imperative that any wear on the actuator mechanism operating the switch, or on the switch itself, and also any drift in the operating characteristics are identified at an early stage and the necessary corrective actions implemented by the end user, thus ensuring operator safety. The switch actuator must not be traveled to the point where it reaches its physical end stop, or beyond, as damage could occur. It is good design practice not to hold the switch actuator in the overtravel position for extended periods, that the actuator moves freely without jamming during operation and that the alignment of the machine actuator to the switch prevents damage or excessive wear. The cable gland is not designed to be removed from the enclosure. Tampering with this connection will result in damage to the switch. No spare parts are available.
NOTICE
Refer to product nameplate for date code. THE DATE CODE is YYXX. YY is the

Specific conditions of use
- Ambient temperature range:
-20 °C to 75 °C @ 3 A (-4 °F to 167 °F)
-20 °C to 60 °C @ 4 A (-4 °F to 140 °F) - Switch components may not be replaced or modified. Any issues regarding replacement and/or abnormal operation should be brought to Honeywell’s attention in order to maintain the explosion-proof performance and avoid product damage.
- In a dusty environment, do not open the switch during operation or to perform maintenance.
- For installation, use, and product maintenance follow the directions and warnings outlined in the Installation Instructions.
- The free end of the permanently connected cable shall be connected either by using a suitable certified junction box when the connection is made inside the hazardous area or by using any suitable junction box when the box is placed outside the hazardous area.
- The equipment has a non-conducting coating and may generate an ignition-capable level of electrostatic charges under certain extreme conditions. The user should ensure that the equipment is not installed in a location where it may be subjected to external conditions (such as high-pressure steam) which might cause a build-up of electrostatic charges on non-conducting surfaces. Additionally, cleaning of the equipment should be done with a damp cloth.
