Getting started with your Echo Dot

Where to put your Echo Dot
Echo Dot works best when placed in a central location, at least 8 inches from any walls. You can put Echo Dot in a variety of places-on a kitchen counter, the end table in your living room, or a nightstand.

To get the attention of your Echo Dot, simply say “Alexa.”

Getting to know your Echo Dot

Plug in your Echo D1ot & wait for Alexa to say hello
Plug the power adapter into your Echo Dot and then into a power outlet. A blue light ring will begin to spin around the top. In about 1 minute, Alexa will greet you and le you know to complete setup in the Alexa App.

You must use the items included in the original Echo Dot package for optimal performance.

1. Download the lates version of the Alexa App from the app store.
2. The app helps you get more out of your Echo Dot. It’s where you set up calling and messaging, and manage music, lists, settings, and news ..
3. After you open the Alexa App, if you are not prompted to set up your device, tap the Devices icon in the tower right of the Alexa App to get started.
4. You can also start the setup process from your computer browser at https://alexa.amazon.com.
5. To learn more about Echo Dot, go to Help & Feedback in the Alexa App.

Optional: Connect to a speaker

You can connect your Echo Dot to a speaker using Bluetooth or an AUX cable. If you are using Bluetooth, place your speaker at least 3 feet away from your Echo Dot for optimal performance. If you are using an AUX cable, your speaker should be at least 0.5 feet away.
