PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE BEGINNING PROJECT.
NOTE: ALL STAINING, DYING, AND TOOLING SHOULD BE DONE PRIOR TO
ASSEMBLY STEP 1: Attach button to flap using 12” of
thread and needle. With both pieces smooth side up align holes. Stitch from
back side of flap through top hole and down through bottom hole. Up through
right hole, down through left hole. Repeat, tie knot on backside of flap.
STEP 2: Add lace to clasp. Run ends of lace down through top two holes
and up through bottom two holes. Tie knot at end of lace.
STEP 3: Attach clasp to front piece using 22” thread and needle. With
both pieces smooth side up align holes. Stitch from back side of front through
bottom hole and down through next hole. Continue stitching to beginning, turn
and stitch back filling in alternate stitches. Stitch to beginning hole. Tie
ends in knot.
STEP 4: Attach belt loop flap to back piece using 24″ of thread and
needle. With all pieces positioned as shown align holes. Stitch up through
first hole in back only, back down second hole. At sixth hole go down through
flap and back and up through back, flap and belt loop at seventh hole.
Continue stitching to twenty-forth hole, turn and
stitch back filling in alternate stitches. Stitch to beginning hole. Tie ends
in knot.
STEP 5: Finish attaching belt loop to back using 10” of thread and
needle. With both pieces smooth side up align holes. Stitch from back side of
back through first hole and down through second hole. Continue stitching to
last hole, turn and stitch back filling in alternate stitches. Stitch to
beginning hole. Tie ends of thread in knot.
STEP 6: Attach gussets to back piece using 12″ of thread and needle.
Align holes in gusset and back (smooth side together). Stitch up through first
hole in gusset and back piece. Continue stitching to one hole past last hole
in gusset, turn and stitch back filling in alternate stitches. Stitch to
beginning hole. Tie ends of thread in knot.
STEP 7: Add pleats to front piece using 12″ of thread and needle. Begin on
backside at first hole as shown. Stitch down through second hole, continuing
to stitch to fifth hole. Fold front piece as shown, so holes 5, 8 and 9 are
aligned. Stitch through these holes and down through aligned holes 10, 7 and
6. Continuing to stitch to hole 15. Fold front piece again as shown, so holes
15, 18 and 19 are aligned. Stitch through these holes and down through aligned
holes 16, 17 and 20. Continue stitching to twenty-fourth hole, turn and stitch
back filling in alternate stitches. Stitch to beginning hole. Tie ends of
thread in knot. STEP 8: Attach front piece to back assembly (smooth sides
together) using remaining thread. Stitch down starting hole in front and
gusset, up through second hole in front and gusset piece. Continue stitching
to last hole, turn and stitch back filling in alternate stitches. Stitch to
beginning hole. Tie ends of thread in knot.
STEP 9: Turn bag smooth side out.
