Failure to read the following warnings could result in an acci-dent or medical event resulting in death or serious injury.
Usage Warnings
Skydiving is an inherently risky sport that can lead to injury or death. Always use your best judgment and exercise common sense when skydiving. This device is subject to malfunctions and is not designed to provide any risk reduc-tion. Variation or changes in atmospheric pressure, while tumbling, wakes (burbles) such as when sit flying and other factors have direct impact on the visual and audible height information. Due to wind noise in freefall, the audible alarm may not be perceived to be as loud as when testing on the ground. If the device is not mounted correctly in the helmet, the alarm may not be noticed. Always use information from visual sightings as primary source for altitude awareness and use the device only as a complementary source for altitude information. Do not perform ACCESS less than 1 minute prior to exit as it might lead to unintended settings adjustment.
Battery Warnings
A lithium-ion battery is used in this device. If these guide-lines are not followed, batteries may pose a shortened life span or may present a risk of damage to the device, fire, chemical burn, electrolyte leak, and/or injury.
- Always insert batteries correctly with regard to polarity marked on the battery and compartment door.
- Do not disassemble, modify, remanufacture, puncture or damage the device or batteries.
- Do not expose the device or batteries to fire, explosion, or other hazard.
- Do not use a sharp object to remove the removable batteries.
- KEEP BATTERIES AWAY FROM CHILDREN. NEVER PUT BATTERIES IN MOUTH. Swallowing can lead to chemical burns, perforation of soft tissue, and death. Severe burns can occur within 2 hours of ingestion. Seek medical attention immediately. If the battery compart-ment does not close securely, stop using the product and keep it away from children.
- Exhausted batteries should be immediately removed
- Only replace batteries with correct replacement batteries. Using other batteries presents a risk of fire or explosion. To purchase replacement batteries, see your LB Altimeters dealer or the online webstore www.lbaltimeters.com
Device Warnings
- Do not immerse or expose device to water or other liquids.
- Do not operate or store the device outside of the tem-perature ranges specified in the printed manual in the product packaging.
The device poses a risk for hearing damage due to high sound pressure (approximately 117dB) near the ears. Exposure to high-energy impulse noise can cause sudden loss of hearing. Exposure to noise is also associated with other hearing disorders such as tinnitus (perception of sound in the absence of an external source). Avoid using a higher volume setting than necessary.
