I didn’t understand it was meant to utilise any button-top 18650 until after I received it. Since the majority of my 18650 batteries have flat tops, it was quite simple to slightly bend the (+) contact so that the flat-top batteries will function with it.

Both the USB charging cable and the two 18650 batteries are included. If I hook the wire into a travel pack, such as one for charging telephones, I frequently find the batteries last a few hours and can keep using the headlamp. The batteries in this particular model won’t last very long, so I advise either getting some spares or keeping battery packs on hand.

Which kind of battery?

Rechargeable lithium. Good results. It hasn’t been used for too long, but it works excellently.
