You have purchased a Cosmo Evasion connected helmet. This helmet has been designed and manufactured according to a strict process and is certified to the following rules and standards:
- The helmet is in compliance with the regulation (EU) 2016/425
- This helmet has been certified by the test laboratory Alienor Certification
- This helmet complies with the specifications of the EN 1078:2012 + A1:2012
Your Cosmo Evasion helmet integrates the Cosmo Ride connected light. Please read this manual carefully before using your helmet and your Cosmo Ride.

Cosmo Evasion Helmet
This helmet is intended for use on the vehicles shown in Figure 1.
It is not intended for use on the vehicles shown in Figure 2.
a. How to place and adjust the helmet
i. Position the helmet
So that it covers the forehead as shown in the image in Figure 3.
ii. Adjust the knob
- Once you have positioned the helmet. tighten or loosen the knob at the back to adjust the circumference to your head as needed.
- To be worn correctly, the helmet should not move forward, backward or sideways. The helmet should be comfortable, not alter the field of vision, nor uncover the back of the head, which should remain protected.
- IMPORTANT : These adjustment steps must be performed on a helmet that is correctly positioned on the head. The helmet only protects if it is properly positioned and adjusted. It is the user’s responsibility to ensure that the steps advised in this manual are followed.
iii. Adjust the straps
- When putting the helmet on, adjust the straps so that they are tight. do not cover the ears, fit and meet comfortably under the ears as shown in Figure 4.
- The straps and buckle should be adjusted so that they tighten firmly without getting in the way.
- To fasten the helmet, slide the two parts of the buckle together as shown in Figure 5.
- Make sure the buckle (which should be closed before each use) does not rest on the jaw.
- To remove the helmet, press the sides together.
b. How to use and maintain your helmet
- Every protective equipment has its limitations. It is the responsibility of the user to carefully read and follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer. Do not take reckless and unnecessary risks just because you are wearing a helmet.
- Always put on your helmet properly, make sure it fits properly, always close your buckle properly fitted and tighten your strap.
- Do not use another person’s helmet.
- Do not wear hard or sharp items under your helmet.
- Never modify or remove any part of the helmet component other than as recommended by the manufacturer, as this may cause hazards and reduce its protective effect. Always use spare parts supplied by the manufacturer. Never attach or glue anything to your helmet except the accessories recommended by Cosmo Connected and according to the mounting procedures provided by Cosmo Connected.
- Many cleaning products can damage your helmet and reduce its protective capabilities. This helmet can be seriously damaged by substances such as hydrocarbons, solvents, glues or adhesives and paints. Clean the helmet with neutral soap and water only after carefully removing the Cosmo Ride. Let it air dry. Never clean with solvents or chemical detergents (thinner, acetone, trichloroethylene., etc.) as they may alter the characteristics and the quality of the helmet. In general, please avoid corrosive or aggressive substances.
- The Cosmo Evasion helmet is equipped with removable and washable comfort foams. These should be washed by hand and dried before being put back into the helmet.
- Never use a damaged helmet: regularly examine your helmet to ensure its condition. This helmet is designed to absorb impact by partially altering its structure by absorbing energy. This damage may not be necessarily visible to the user. After a major impact or a fall, this helmet should be destroyed and replaced even if it does not appear to be damaged. A helmet should also be replaced after 4 to 5 years of careful use depending on its frequency of use, or if it no longer fits. Cosmo Connected will not accept any complaint due to a defect or deterioration arising from misuse, neglect. repair or alteration other than as advised by the manufacturer.
- The helmet cannot protect against all types of injuries and certainly not in the areas it does not cover. This helmet is designed to protect the head, but not the spine or any other part of the body. Even at low speed an accident can cause serious injury or even death.
- Storage: Temperatures above 45°C can damage your helmet, so it is best to store it in a cool, dry place. Do not leave your helmet in a car or near any source of heat. If your helmet is damaged due to exposure to high temperatures, it will no longer be warranted by the manufacturer.
- This helmet should not be used by children while climbing or doing other activities where there is a risk of strangulation if the child gets trapped whilst wearing the helmet.
- Safely keep this user manual.
Cosmo Ride Operating Instructions
Your Cosmo Evasion helmet is equipped with the Cosmo Ride, a removable light
attached to the helmet with a removable clip, it comes with its own wireless
remote control. The Cosmo Ride offers different light modes that adapt to the
surrounding light conditions as well as turn signals.
An automatic brake light is also available. The device is your true safety
ally: it allows you to better be seen, to detect falls and to inform your
emergency contacts (Guardian Angels) by text message after launching a ride in
the mobile application.
This user guide provides you with instructions for setting up and getting
started with the Cosmo Ride. These instructions are subject to change, if in
doubt please refer to our website to get the most recent version:

The Cosmo Ride was tested to ensure certification conformity in accordance
with the essential requirements and other provisions of Directive 2014/53/EU.
COSMO CONNECTED hereby declares this device complies with the essential
requirements and other provisions of Directive 2014/53/EU (RED). The complete
Declaration of Conformity for each product are available on our website
www.cosmoconnected.com/en/certificates.
COSMO CONNECTED is authorised to affix CE marking on Cosmo Ride model CB-
COB-001-Black which indicates its compliance with the essential require-
ments and other provisions of Directive 2014/53/EU. Designed in France/Made in
China.
a. How to install your Cosmo Ride
+ Install the Cosmo Ride
To mount the Cosmo Ride on the helmet: insert the square base into the notch
in the helmet base and slide it all the way in (Figure 6).
To remove the Cosmo Ride from the helmet, slide it out the other way. Do not
pull on the Cosmo Ride under any circumstances as this may damage the clip
(Figure 7).
+ Install the remote control (Figure 8).
Use the elastic strap that matches the diameter of your handlebars, then slide
the remote control to insert it.
b. Using the Cosmo Ride and Remote control
Before First Use (Figure 9)
A. Connect your Cosmo Ride with the included micro-USB cable to a powered
port. The micro-USB connector is located on the back of the product, on the
right side behind the protective tab. The Cosmo Ride will light up, the
charging indicator (red dot light on the left side front) stays on until it is
fully charged. Unplug the Cosmo Ride, you will now be able to use it or pair
it: Without pairing: your light will be in position lignt mode with automatic
brake light active.
After pairing: you will be able to configure your light mode, to use the
remote control and to benefit from the connected services using the
application.
B. Download the Cosmo Connected app via the Apple Store or Google Play Store.
C. Activate Bluetooth and geolocation on your phone, make sure you have
internet access.
D. Launch the application and follow the instructions to connect your Cosmo
Ride and remote control. Once set up. you will be able to choose your light
mode using the remote control or the app (before starting a ride).
important : If you encounter any difficulties during the installation of the
application: we advise you to check that your Cosmo Ride or your remote
control are not directly paired via the Bluetooth settings of the smartphone.
They will not be recognized by the application if this is the case.
+ Pairing and configuring the Cosmo Ride and remote control
This is done via the Cosmo Connected application.
Make sure the Cosmo Ride has been charged and the remote control battery is
not discharged, launch the application, and then follow the instructions or go
to the “My Cosmo menu to pair your devices.

Turning the Cosmo Ride On and Off (Figure 10)
To turn on the Cosmo Ride:
– Press the touch-sensitive ON/OFF button for 3 seconds on the back of the
Cosmo Ride.
To turn off the Cosmo Ride, you can either:
– Press the touch-sensitive ON/OFF button for 3 seconds.
– Use the mobile application.
– Press the center button on the remote control for 3 seconds.
– Let the Cosmo Ride turn itself off after 2 minutes of of total immobility.

Turning the remote control on and off (Figure 12)
– To turn it on: press any of the buttons.
– The remote control automatically turns off after 2 minutes of immobility. -

Press quickly to change the mode. There are different light modes:
1st press: Position light
2nd press: Position light & warning light
3rd press: Warning light
Ath press: Position light off
ALED on the remote control is activated to confirm that the command has been taken into account.
important : Pressing on both turn signal buttons simultaneously will desynchro- nize the Cosmo Ride and the remote control.
« Using the Turn Signals
To turn the turn signals on/off, use the remote control (Figure 12):
Asingle click will activate the turn signal (buttons 1 and 2).
A second click will deactivate the turn signal.
Without deactivation, the turn signal goes off by itself after 15 seconds.
ALED on the remote control is activated to confirm that the command has been taken into account.
« Virtual remote control
The management of the light modes and turn signals is also possible in the mobile application with the virtual remote control available above the the map.
Warning- Do not use if you have a pacemaker.
- The Cosmo Ride is intended to complement and not replace the lights installed on bikes, scooters or their users.
- Users must comply with local regulations, which may prohibit the use of certain light modes or mounting positions. Cosmo Connected declines any responsibi- lity.
- The use of hand signals remains encouraged on the road. Although offering an automatic brake light and turn signals to make them as recognizable and intuitive as possible, we make no claim that motorists or the people around you will recognize their meaning or that they will see them. It is a good practice to have lights to improve visibility for users, but it does not guarantee that there will not be an accident or collision.
- When you activate the turn signal, take a look at the remote control to make sure you have activated the correct light. It can be very dangerous to turn on the wrong turn signal light or to leave it on, which can increase the risk of a collision due to miscommunication. After you have actually turned, make sure you turn off your turn signal light.
c. Connected services with the Cosmo Connected App
The Cosmo Connected** mobile app allows you to, among other things:
- Connect up to 2 Cosmo Ride & 1 remote control
- Update Cosmo Connected products
- Configure light modes
- Create and configure guardian angels (up to 3)
- Send a text message alert via the application to the guardian angels in case of fall detection Send a text message via the application to the guardian angels to share your journey in real time
- Access your personal dashboard (statistics, number of trips, duration)
- Share your trip and your statistics
- Activate / deactivate turn signals and light modes
The services offered by the Cosmo Connected application are constantly evolving, the list presented here is likely to evolve, so do not hesitate to consult our website!

In order to take advantage of all the services, you must be equipped with a smartphone configured as follows: iOS (Apple) : Version iOS 11 or higher. Android: Version 8 or higher. Cell phone with a GSM SIM card + GPS + Bluetooth Low Energy.
Even if it meets these requirements, there is a risk that your phone will not work with your Cosmo Ride and your remote control because the hardware and software can be very different depending on your phone. We test the product on a wide range of phones. If you are unsure, please do not hesitate to contact us. Fall detection, ride sharing and guardian angel alerts: These connected services only work when you start a ride in the app and your Cosmo Ride is connected with sufficient battery power. Service operation is dependent on network coverage. Always test service operation and message reception before first use.
d. Charging
Recharge the Cosmo Ride
Connect your Cosmo Ride with the included micro-USB cable to a powered port.
The micro-USB connector is located on the back of the product, on the tight
side behind the protective tab. The Cosmo Ride turns on, the charging
indicator (red dot on the left side of the front panel) will stay on until
fully charged. (Figure 11) IMPORTANT: The Cosmo Ride cannot be used while
charging.
«Replacing the Remote Control Battery
The remote control is powered by a CR2032 battery. To replace the battery, it
is necessary to remove the two rear screws (2) with a screwdriver (Figure 13).
e. Important information
i. Wireless technology
Bluetooth 4.2 radio transmitter/receiver. (Low energy). Transmitting power:
-8.4 dBm/frequency range: 2400 to 2483.5 MHz. ii. Cosmo Ride Battery
Capacity: 900 mAh rechargeable via a micro-USB cable (included). An indicator
light will illuminate during charging. The battery life is 8 hours of
continuous use (may vary depending on the use). You can check the battery
level of your Cosmo Ride via the mobile app.
iii. Battery Precautions
Do not attempt to replace the battery in your Cosmo Ride. It is built-in and
is not replaceable. Charge the battery according to the instructions provided
in this guide. Charge your Cosmo Ride using a computer or a certified power
supply. Do not attempt to open the built-in battery.
iv. Usage Recommendations
Do not attempt to replace the battery or disassemble your Cosmo Ride. Any of
these actions will void the warranty and may present a safety hazard. The
substances contained in the batteries may be harmful to the environment or
cause injury if handled and disposed of improperly. Do not expose your Cosmo
Ride to extreme temperatures (the Cosmo Ride is designed to operate between
O°C and +45°C). Do not use abrasive products to clean your Cosmo Ride product
or its accessories. Do not dispose of your Cosmo Ride in a fire. The battery
could explode.
Charge the battery according to the instructions provided in this guide. Use
only a computer, power source, or charger certified by a recognized testing
laboratory with a charging cable authorized by COSMO CONNECTED. Do not charge
your Cosmo Ride when it is wet.
v. Caution
Risk of explosion if the battery is replaced with an incorrect battery. It
should be recycled or disposed of separately from household waste according to
the instructions. This product is not a toy. Do not allow children or pets to
play with your Cosmo Ride. The product contains small parts that may present a
choking hazard.
vi. Disposal and Recycling Information
Each country and province has its own recycling centers for batteries and
electronic components. To find out more about where to take your product,
contact the local waste management department or the store where you purchased
your product. Do not dispose of your product in the household garbage. The
disposal of the packaging and of your product must be done in accordance with
local regulations. Batteries should not be disposed of with municipal waste
and should be collected separately.

Warranties
The Cosmo Evasion carries a limited two (2) years commercial warranty.
COSMO CONNECTED, 19 Rue Richer 75009 Paris, France, warrants the COSMO
CONNECTED against defects in materials and workmanship when used in accordance
with the recommendations published in the user guide provided they occur
within two (2) years from the date of End User’s initial purchase of a new
COSMO CONNECTED product from a professional (“Warranty Period”). The
recommendations published include technical specifications, safety
instructions or the user manual. COSMO CONNECTED cannot guarantee the
uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Cosmo Fusion. The products sold
by COSMO CONNECTED comply with the regulations in force in France and have
performances compatible with non-professional use.
The products supplied by COSMO CONNECTED benefit by right and without
additional payment, independently of the right of withdrawal, in accordance
with the legal provisions:

The legal guarantee of conformity, for products that appear to be defective, damaged, or do not correspond to the order;
» The legal guarantee against hidden defects resulting from a defect in material, design or manufacture affecting the products delivered and rendering them unfit for use: under the conditions and according to the terms and conditions referred to in the box below.
The legal guarantee applies independently of any commercial warranty that may cover the product. The customer may decide to enforce the warranty against hidden defects
of the product in accordance with article 1641 of the French Civil Code; in this case, the customer may choose between cancellation of the sale or a reduction of the sale price in accordance with article 1644 of the French Civil Code.
In such case, they may choose between a cancellation of the sale or a reduction in the purchase price pursuant to article 1644 of the French Civil Code. Please note that
under the scope of the legal warranty of compliance, customers have two (2) years after delivery of the goods to enforce it against the seller; may choose between the repair or replacement of the product ordered, subject to cost conditions, as provided for by article L 217-9 of the French Consumer Code; providing proof of the existence of a compliance defect in the product is waived for the 24 months following delivery of the product.
In order to exercise their rights, customers must inform the company COSMO CONNECTED in writing of any non-conformity in the products or the existence of hidden vices within the periods indicated above and return the defective products in the conditions in which they were received with all accessory elements (packaging. documentation, charger, etc.). COSMO CONNECTED will reimburse, replace or repair the products or parts under the warranty which it believes are non-compliant or defective.
Shipping costs will be reimbursed at the rate invoiced and the return shipping costs will be reimbursed upon submission of the corresponding receipts. Reimbursements for products deemed non-compliant or defective will be completed as quickly as possible and no later than fourteen (14) days after COSMO CONNECTED is notified of the compliance defect or hidden vice. Reimbursement will be made to the customer’s bank account or by bank check payable to the customer. COSMO CONNECTED will not be liable in the following cases:- Non-respect of the laws in the country where the products are delivered, which must be verified by the customer:
- Improper use, usage that does not comply with the user’s guide, faulty installa- tion, use for professional purposes, negligence or a lack of maintenance by the customer, as well as in the event of normal product wear, an accident or force majeure;
- Faulty operation of the app connected to the product and, more generally, of the warning mechanism due to a lack of access to a telephone network (especially in a non-covered area or an inaccessible network), technical defects or consequences of an accident particularly, the total or partial destruction of the mobile terminal on which the app connected to the product is installed).
Moreover, the warranty will not cover:

Repairs or replacements of parts due to normal wear:
-
Any adaptation to the product in order to comply with technical or safety regulations applicable in a country other than one for which the product was designed and manufactured at the source: in other words, France;
-
Deterioration or defects in the product resulting from:
-
Improper product use or installation (use which is non-compliant with the intended use, installation or use that is non-compliant with the
COSMO CONNECTED instructions or technical or safety standards in effect in the country where it is used, etc.); -
Maintenance of the product which is non-compliant with COSMO CONNECTED instructions or negligence in the product maintenance;
-
Improper handling or improper use of the product (improper handling, falls, blows, etc.) or an inappropriate environment (exposure to humidity, excessiv heat, contact with the sand or any other substance, inadequate electric power, etc.);
-
Amodification or repair not completed by a service provider authorised by COSMO CONNECTED.
Furthermore, the customer hereby acknowledges that, based on the circulation and climate conditions, the product may not detect braking situations and expressly accepts this.
MORE GENERALLY, THERE IS NO WARRANTY EXTENDING BEYOND THE WARRANTY INDICATED HEREIN AND ANY IMPLICIT WARRANTY INCLUDING IMPLICIT WARRANTIES OF CURRENT COMMERCIAL USE OR SUITABILITY FOR CERTAIN PURPOSES IS EXPRESSLY EXCLUDED. NO RESELLER HAS THE RIGHT TO MODIFY THE CONDITIONS AND LIABILITY CLAUSES LISTED ABOVE.
