ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELDS (EMF)
This device complies with the standards for electromagnetic fields (EMF). If it is operated in accordance with the instructions, according to the state of art, the device is safe.
GENERAL INFORMATION
The Doxmand SR2 Alarm emits squawk like sounds that make starlings and other
pest birds feel in danger, so they do not even attempt to land in the affected
area, thus protecting the crop. The installation of the device is simple and
requires no special expertise. The energy required for the alarm is provided
by a solar cell on the unit.
Randomly generated sounds cause birds to leave the affected area in search of
a different habitat. The unit alarms only during daytime and automatically
shuts off at night.
By pressing the button on the bottom of the device, you can set how often the
device should alarm. The alarm can be randomly triggered at any time within
the set maximum time. It is a good idea to set this timeline as large as
possible so that birds will be less likely to know the device too well.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
INSTALLATION:
Step 1: Fixing the bracket to the ground post.
Step 2: Fixing the device to the bracket using the supplied wing nut.
Step 3: Powering on.
To use the Doxmand SR2 Starling Alarm, follow these steps:
-
Positioning the device:
Place the device so that it is at least 1m above the plant to be protected. Placement can be done on a ground post or picket, making sure that the solar panel is always exposed to sunlight and that there is nothing to prevent the sound from spreading. First, screw the supplied bracket onto the post and then secure the device to the bracket with the supplied wing nut. -
Power on:
Use the button at the bottom of the unit to turn it on, which will indicate the battery status with the first 1-3 beeps after power on, then it starts the alarm, followed by the timer setting with 1-3 beeps in different sounding tone.
The states of charge indicator (first 1-3 beeps at power-on)
- 3 beeps Charged status
- 2 beeps Medium charged status
- 1 beep Low power, waiting for sunshine
In the event of one beep, the device no longer alarms, thus preventing the Li-
ion battery cell from discharging excessively, which could cause damage. It
will resume operation after the next sunny period. THE SOLAR PANEL CHARGES THE
BATTERY ONLY WHEN IT IS TURNED ON!
IMPORTANT!
It is advisable to remove the protective film placed on the solar panel before
the first use of the device, since after a while the sun can burn it on, which
can make it difficult to remove and it may influence the proper energy uptake!
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
IMPORTANT! Do not immerse the device in water! Do not use a strong detergent, abrasive scrubber to clean the appliance! Clean the device with a damp, soft cloth. Over time, the solar cell may become whitish and become scale-coated, affecting the power supply of the device. It is therefore advisable to wipe it occasionally, for example by cleaning it with a recommended WD-40 or limescale cleaning agent
STORAGE
IMPORTANT! When using the device periodically, please comply with the
appropriate storage conditions for longer lifetime! If the battery charge is
too low or too high, you can shorten the battery life. Its storage temperature
is recommended between (-)20 and (+)25 °C. Always use the device off when not
in use, in a closed environment!
Before putting it on the shelf, it is recommended to clean the device as
described above. Check the battery charge! Turn it off and then on again to
see how many beeps you hear when you turn it back on. The device should be
stored with a medium charged battery, so you should hear exactly 2 beeps when
you turn it back on. If you hear exactly two beeps, turn it off and you can
take the device away.
If you hear 3 beeps, cover the solar panel while it is on and after a few
hours try to turn it on and off again. Repeat until you hear 2 beeps when
turning on. If you only hear one beep, put it to the sun when it is turned on
and let it charge. After a few hours try to turn it on and off again. Repeat
until you hear 2 beeps when turning on..
TROUBLE SHOOTING
