Important Safety Instructions

• This device may only be used for the purposes described in these instructions. The manufacturer cannot be held liable for damage caused by the incorrect application.
• Never touch the metal mesh in the nebulizing head with your hands or foreign objects.
• This device should only be used with original accessories as shown in these instructions.
• This device comprises sensitive components and must be treated with caution. Observe the storage and operating conditions described in the «Technical Specifications» section.
• Only use the medication prescribed for you by your doctor and follow your doctor’s instructions with regard to dosage, duration, and frequency of the therapy.
• The liquid for nebulizing should be prepared based on 0.9% saline or whatever is advised by your doctor. No tap or boiled water can be used. The container used for the preparation of liquid must be sterilized.
• Never use liquids that contain ester, fatty, or suspended particles (including diffusion juice of herbs); specifications may vary with the medication type used.
• If the device is not going to be used for a prolonged period the batteries should be removed.
• Do not use this device if you think it is damaged or notice anything unusual.
• Never open this device.
• Protect it from:
  • water and moisture
  • extreme temperatures
  • impact and dropping
  • contamination and dust
  • direct sunlight
  • heat and cold
  • flammable gas, heating units, and open fire
  • corrosive liquids
• To avoid any risk of electric shock when using this device please observe the following:
  •  Never use the device in a humid environment such as a bathroom nor when the power cord or the main unit has gotten wet.
  •  Never plug in or unplug the adapter cable with wet hands.
  •  Check that the supply voltage at the power socket is correct, as not to cause overload to the device.
  •  Unplug the device from the power supply before cleaning.
• Do not use this device close to strong electromagnetic fields such as mobile telephones or radio installations.
  Keep a minimum distance of 3.3 m from such devices when using this device.

Ensure that children do not use this device unsupervised; some parts are small enough to be swallowed.
Be aware of the risk of strangulation in case this device is supplied with cables or tubes.
The use of this device is not intended as a substitute for a consultation with your doctor.

Preparation before Use

Inserting the batteries AL
After you have unpacked your device, first insert the batteries. Battery compartment 7 is on the bottom of the device. Insert the batteries (2 x 1.5 V, size AA), thereby observing the indicated polarity.

Using a Mains Adapter
You can operate this device using the Microlife mains adapter (DC 3V, 1.33A).

Only use the Microlife mains adapter available as an original accessory appropriate for your supply voltage.
Ensure that neither the mains adapter nor the cable is damaged.

1. Plug the adapter cable into the mains adapter socket 8 in the main unit 3.
2. Plug the adapter plug into the wall socket.

Trial run
Press the ON/OFF button 6 and check if the indicator light 4 lights up green.

• Orange light: batteries are weak.
• Red light: batteries are exhausted and need replacing.
• Red light flashes 3 times: device turns off automatically, as no medicine is inside.

Using the Device for the First Time

Prior to using the device for the first time, we recommend cleaning it as described in the section «Cleaning and Disinfecting».

1. Snap the nebulizer lock 1-B upward to open the nebulizing head AM.
2. Fill the medication as per your doctor’s instructions into the drug storage area AN. Ensure that you do not exceed the maximum level.
3. Press the nebulizer lock 1-B downwards; a «click» sound indicates that the nebulizer cover 1-A is closed correctly.
4. Connect the mouthpiece or a face mask as shown in pictures AO and AP. – The mouthpiece gives you a better drug delivery to the lungs. – Choose between adult AT or child face mask AK and make sure that it encloses the mouth and nose area completely.
5. Start the nebulization by pressing the ON/OFF button 6the indicator light 4 will light up green.
6. Breathe in and out calmly during the therapy. Sit in a relaxed position with the upper body upright. Do not lie down while inhaling. Stop inhalation if you feel unwell.
7. To stop the nebulization during the therapy, press the ON/OFF button 6; otherwise, the device will automatically shut down when the liquid has been fully used.
8. If the Microlife mains adapter is used, unplug the cable from the mains adapter socket 8.
9. Remove the mouthpiece 9 or mask AT / AK.
10. Press the «PRESS» button 5 on the rear of the main unit 3 and gently pull the nebulizing head 1 out AQ
11. Empty the remaining medication from the nebulizer and clean the device as described in the section «Cleaning and Disinfecting».

When the liquid is getting low, you may tilt the device a little towards yourself in order to make full use of the residual liquid.
The maximum tilting angle of the device is 45° while nebulizing.
Do not shake the device during operation.
This may cause the device to malfunction and/or shut down.

Cleaning and Disinfecting

Thoroughly clean all components to remove medication residuals and possible impurities after each treatment.

• Always wash your hands well before cleaning and disinfecting the accessories.
• Clean the main unit only with a soft, dry cloth.
• Do not expose the main unit to water or heat.

Cleaning with water

1. Snap the nebulizer lock 1-B upward to open the nebulizing head AM. Fill the drug storage area with hot tap water (max. 70 °C). Close the nebulizing head and shake for 30  seconds.
2. Run the device for 1-2 minutes in order to clean the nebulizing head.
3.  Wash all nebulizer components (except the main unit) under warm tap water (max. 70 °C) for about 5 minutes adding if necessary a small quantity of detergent following dosage and use limitations as provided by the detergent manufacturer.
4. Rinse thoroughly making sure that all deposits are washed away and left to dry.
5. Store the device with all parts in a dry, clean place.
   Do not boil the main unit, nebulizing head, mouthpiece and masks.

Turbo cleaning function
We recommend using the Microlife mains adapter, as the power consumption of the turbo cleaning function is very high.

1. Snap the nebulizer lock 1-B upward to open the nebulizing head AM. Fill the drug storage area with hot tap water (max. 70 °C). Close the nebulizing head and shake for 30  seconds.
2. Plug the adapter cable into the mains adapter socket 8 in the main unit 3.
3. Plug the adapter plug into the wall socket.
4. Press the ON/OFF button 6 for at least 5 seconds until the indicator light 4 starts blinking green.
5. Run the device until the liquid has been used up; the device will shut down automatically.

Disinfecting by using disinfectants
All nebulizer components (except the main unit) can be disinfected with chemical disinfectants following dosage and use limitations as provided by the disinfectant manufacturer. Disinfectants are usually available at pharmacies.

Battery Replacement

1. Open battery compartment 7 on the bottom of the device.
2. Replace the batteries – ensure correct polarity as shown by the symbols in the compartment.
   Batteries and electronic devices must be disposed of in accordance with the locally applicable regulations, not with domestic waste.

Maintenance, Care, and Service

We recommend replacing the nebulizing head, face masks, and mouthpiece every year (depending on the usage).
Order all spare parts from your dealer or pharmacist, or contact Microlife- Service (see foreword).

Malfunctions and Actions to take

Use the following table for solutions if any problem occurs.

Clean the nebulizing head – see section «Cleaning and Disinfecting»; replace it if necessary.
No power and/or nebula- station.| 1. Batteries’ polarity is reversed.
2. Low battery voltage.
3. Adapter is not correctly connected to the main unit or the power socket.
4. Incorrect installation of the nebulizing head.| 1. Reinstall batteries correctly.
2. Replace the batteries.
3. Reconnect the cable to the power socket and the main unit.
4. Reinstall the Cebu- listing head correctly. See section «Preparation before Use».
The indicator light lights up green, but the device does not work.| 1. Incorrect installation of the nebulizing head.
2. Contamination to the nebulizing head.
3. The liquid is not in contact with the nebulizing head.
4. There are bubbles between the liquid and the nebulizing head.
5. Dirty electrode pole of the main unit.| 1. Reinstall the Cebu- losing head correctly.
2. Clean the nebulizing head; replace it if necessary.
3. Slightly tilt the main unit towards yourself to make the liquid gather at the Cebu-  listing head side.
4. Gently shake the liquid.
5. Clean the electrodes of the main unit with a soft, dry cloth.

Contact your local Microlife-Customer Service if any problems remain after taking the measures listed above.

Guarantee

This device is covered by a 2-year guarantee from the date of purchase. During this guarantee period, at our discretion, Microlife will repair or replace the defective product free of charge.
Opening or altering the device invalidates the guarantee.
The following items are excluded from the guarantee:

• Transport costs and risks of transport.
•  Damage caused by the incorrect application or non-compliance with the instructions for use.
• Damage caused by leaking batteries.
• Damage caused by accident or misuse.
• Packaging/storage material and instructions for use.
• Regular checks and maintenance (calibration).
• Accessories and wearing parts: Batteries, masks, mouthpiece.

The nebulizing head is covered by a 12-month guarantee.
Should guarantee service to be required, please contact the dealer from where the product was purchased or your local Microlife service. You may contact your local Microlife service through our website: www.microlife.com/support
Compensation is limited to the value of the product. The guarantee will be granted if the complete product is returned with the original invoice. Repair or replacement within the guarantee does not prolong or renew the guarantee period.
The legal claims and rights of consumers are not limited by this guarantee.
