Controls and Displays

TIME SET = setting the local time and foreign time
+ = increases the current set value
– = reduces the current set value
RC On/Off = activating/deactivating RC
RESET = restoring factory settings
LOCAL/FOREIGN slide switch
= If you select ‘LOCAL’, the clock displays Central European Time. If you select ‘FOREIGN’, the clock displays the desired time zone (European time + the set time zone -> ‘F’ symbol lights up)

Safety Notes

The product is intended for private, non-commercial use only.
Use the product for its intended purpose only.
Protect the product from dirt, moisture and overheating, and only use it in a dry environment.
Do not use the product in the immediate vicinity of heaters or other heat sources or in direct sunlight.
Do not operate the product continuously, as it is not designed for this.
Do not drop the product and do not expose it to any major shocks.
Do not attempt to service or repair the product yourself. Leave any and all service work to qualified experts.
Do not put the product near interference fields, metal frames, computers, TVs, etc. Electronic devices and window frames can negatively affect the product’s functionality.
Do not modify the product in any way. Doing so voids the warranty.
Keep the packaging material out of the reach of children due to the risk of suffocation.
Dispose of packaging material immediately according to locally applicable regulations.
Do not operate the product outside the power limits given in the specifications.
Do not open the device or continue to operate it if it becomes damaged.
Keep this product, as all electrical products, out of the reach of children!
Use the item only in moderate climatic conditions.

Warning – Batteries

When inserting batteries, note the correct polarity (+ and – markings) and insert the batteries accordingly. Failure to do so could result in the batteries leaking or exploding.
Only use batteries (or rechargeable batteries) that match the specified type.
Before you insert the batteries, clean the battery contacts and the polar contacts.
Do not allow children to change batteries without supervision.
Do not mix old and new batteries or batteries of a different type or make.
Remove the batteries from products that are not being used for an extended period (unless these are being kept ready for an emergency).
Do not short-circuit batteries.
Do not charge batteries.

Warning – Batteries

Do not throw batteries in a fire.
Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
Never open, damage or swallow batteries or allow them to enter the environment. They can contain toxic, environmentally harmful heavy metals.
Immediately remove and dispose of dead batteries from the product.
Avoid storing, charging or using the device in extreme temperatures and extremely low atmospheric pressure (for example, at high altitudes).

Getting Started

5.1 Inserting the battery

Open the battery compartment (7), remove the contact breaker and then close the battery compartment (7). The clock is ready for operation.
If the display remains blank after inserting a new battery, change the batteries or press the RESET button (5) on the back of the clock using a pointed object.

5.2 Replacing the battery

Open the battery compartment on the back of the product.
Remove and dispose of any used batteries. Insert the new battery (AA). Ensure that the polarity of the battery corresponds to the symbols in the battery compartment.
Close the battery compartment.

Installation

Warning – Mounting Note:

Before mounting the clock, ensure that the chosen wall is suitable for the weight to be mounted, and make sure that there are no electrical wires, water, gas or other lines at the installation site on the wall.
Purchase special fastening materials from specialised dealers.
Do not mount the product above locations where persons might linger.

You can mount the wall clock on a wall using the opening on the back.

Operation

Note – Input
Hold down the + – button (2) or the – – button (3) to select the values faster.

7.1 Automatic date/time setting using the DCF signal

Once the battery is inserted properly, the clock will automatically be set to 12:00 pm and its reception will be activated. As soon as the DCF signal was received and processed (approx. 3 minutes up to a maximum of 15 minutes), the correct time is displayed automatically.
Do not move the clock during this process.
If the clock has not correctly set itself after 15 minutes, there is a problem with the reception or with the selected location. Repeat the setting process at another location. First, remove the batteries for about 1 minute and then insert them again with the correct polarity.

Note
Note that electronic devices such as TVs, PCs, etc. can interfere with reception when located within up to two metres of the product.

Note – Time settings ****

If, during initial setup of the device, a DCF radio signal is not received within the first few minutes, the search is aborted. The radio icon will go out.
If there are reception problems, we recommend leaving the clock to sit overnight, since interference is generally less at night.
In the meantime, you can start a manual search for the DCF radio signal at another location or you can manually set the time and date.
The clock automatically continues to search for the DCF radio signal on a daily basis. If the signal is received successfully, the manually-set time and date are overwritten.

Note – Summer time
The clock automatically switches to summer time. S appears on the display as long as summer time is activated.

7.2 Manually setting the date/time

Press and hold the TIME SET button (1) for approximately 3 seconds to switch to the manual time setting mode. The year display (YEAR) begins to flash.
Set the following information in the order listed:
Year, month, day, hour, minute, language and time zone (+/– 12)
To select the individual values, press the + button (2) or the – button (3), and confirm each selection by pressing the T IME SET button (1).

Note – Day of the week
You can choose from German (GE), French (FR), Italian (IT), Spanish (ES), Dutch (NE), Danish (DA) and English (EN) for the display of the day of the week.

7.3 Displaying a different time zone / foreign time

Slide the LOCAL/FOREIGN switch (6) to the ‘FOREIGN’ position. The ‘F’ symbol appears in the display.
Press and hold the TIME SET button (1) for approximately 3 seconds until the year display begins to flash.
Set the following information in the order listed:
Year, month, day, hour, minute, language.
To select the individual values, press the + button (2) or the – button (3), and confirm each selection by pressing the TIME SET button (1).
Slide the LOCAL/FOREIGN switch (6) to the ‘LOCAL’ position to return to the normal time display.
The ‘F’ symbol in the display goes out.

7.4 Deactivating radio mode (QUARTZ mode)

Press and hold the RC ON/OFF button (4) for approximately 3 seconds to deactivate the radio mode. Instead of the symbol for the radio mode, OFF (14) appears in the display.
Set the date and time as described in 7.2 Manually setting the date/time. The hands synchronise automatically.
Press and hold the RC ON/OFF button (4) for approximately 3 seconds to activate the radio mode again.
The radio symbol (8) appears in the display and the clock searches for the radio signal.

7.5 Manual search for DCF signal

Press and hold the + button (2) for approximately 3 seconds.
The clock searches for a DCF signal. If no DCF signal is received, the clock displays the last time stored.
The clock automatically searches for the DCF signal several times a day (01:00, 03:00, 05:00, 13:00, 17:00, 21:00 hrs). If the signal is received successfully, the time and date are overwritten.

7.6 Temperature display
The temperature is measured and updated every minute. By pressing the – button (3), you can switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit.

Care and Maintenance

Only clean this product with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth and do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
Make sure that water does not get into the product.
