FAQs

What is it made of? Plastic? Paper? Wood?

Essentially it’s a bunch of hallow plastic triangles held together and hinged by the stickers. Stickers seem fairly durable but don’t expect it to hold up long with regular use. It’s the magnets that likely make this cost so much. OK novelty item if on a deep sale but not worth anywhere near full price IMO.

This one is so much more expensive than others….Is this one better than the ones that cost $7.99 or $8.99?

The term “rare earth” can be misleading, as some of these metals can be[3][4] as abundant in the Earth’s crust as tin or lead,[5] but rare earth ores do not exist in seams (like coal or copper), so in any given cubic kilometer of crust they are “rare”.

How about a boy who is in 9th grade and loves the rubics cube?

YES — this cube is fascinating! Got it for my 23 year old and he loves it! Al he extended family wanted to play with it, flip it around, and make the designs. This is my new go to gift for engineers, techie folks, fidgeters, and well, anyone hard to buy for!

What are the dimensions of the box when not opened up into shapes?

As just a simple comparison, it’s roughly the size of a Rubics cube. I was surprised at how small the cube is, but when opened and in its various shapes and in combination with other cubes, I’m very glad it is small! Anything larger would be definitely too big!

Will it summon the Cenobites?

Only if manipulated into the correct formation and then reversed again after transformation. And only if you are deemed worthy of such a gift. If unsuccessful, you may spend eternity in hell. Good luck.

Can the magnets in Shashibo be dangerous near phones, computers, and other magnets?

Theoretically there could be some functional impact (such as a compass) if you put Shashibo Cube closed to your mobile phone. And the impact will disappear if you move the Shashibo Cube away.

Would my 6 year old grandson be able to tear this apart?

Shashibo is very durable but it is recommended for ages 8 and up. Not because younger kids won’t love it, but because without adult supervision they could play too rough with it trying to force it into the shapes which does put unnecessary stress on the tear resistant stickers and strong adhesive which are not indestructible.

How many pieces do I get?

You get one Shashibo which can transform into over 70 geometric shapes.

Is it normal for some sides to not be magnetic?

It seems like it. Some of my sides aren’t magnetic or aren’t as strong as others.

Is this made out of paper?

Shashibo is made of strong injection mold plastic, tear resistant stickers, 36 Rare earth magnets and a little bit of magic.

Is it made out of paper?

Paper no, but when we first purchased one the person showing us how it worked told us not to be overly rough with it because it can rip. But to note, we’ve had ours for over a year and no problems.

Are the cubes in the set the same size as the individual cubes?

The cubes in the box set are the same size.

Is this product harmful to clothes?

It hasn’t come off on any of my kid’s clothes when playing with it, but I don’t suggest throwing it with the laundry as that would probably destroy the actual toy.

Is this the next pet rock or what? Should I just save myself the hassle and buy a perplexus instead?

My son now owns three and takes them everywhere. He loves these. He’s 10.5 years old. We gave one as a gift, and the 11-year-old lost it quickly and hasn’t cared. So it’s a toss-up, I suppose, as to how engaging it’ll be from person to person.

Just wondered if the Karmagami is a genuine product by the Shashibo Company?

I don’t think so at all tears easily made our of cheap plastic.
