To ensure the successful installation of your IS-5041 STB, read and follow the step-by-step instructions below.
Do you have all of the necessary equipment?
- IS-5041 STB
- Remote Control (This remote control is already programmed to operate your STB.
- Instructions on how to program your remote to operate your TV or other devices are available from your service provider.)
- HDMI Cable
- Power Cord
- Make sure your TV is turned off.
- Connect the HDMI cable from the HDMI port on the back of the STB to the HDMI input on your TV.
- Turn on your TV. Make sure that your TV is set to the proper input.
- Plug one end of the STB power cord into the STB, and then the other end into the power outlet.
- As the STB starts up, it will display the following message.
- At this point you are going to connect your new STB to your Wi-Fi access point. Press OK on the remote control to start the association process on the new STB. You will now see the following on the TV. Select the correct WiFi network.
- Enter the WiFi password. The STB will connect to the network and finish STB setup automatically.
- In a few seconds, the new settop box should indicate that it has connected.
- As your STB loads, you will see a welcome screen indicating the STB is loading.
NOTE: The Electronic Program Guide usually will appear in 30-60 minutes after first network connection. You can reboot STB (power cycle) for a quicker guide refresh.
To STB
- These are sent out generic and not programmed to any one STB.
- No flashing or missing code on these remotes. It sounds like they never programmed the remote for the 5041w.
- Here are the steps to program the remote for the 5041w.
To pair the remote to the Set-Top-Box
- Hold SETUP until the STB key blinks twice. Enter the four-digit code. Verify that the STB key blinks twice to confirm the code is stored.
- IS-5112W, IS-5041W (uses Motorola code) – 1 3 7 6
PROGRAM YOUR REMOTE CONTROL
This remote control is already pre-programmed to control your Set Top Box (STB). The instructions below will program this remote to control your TV.
- Manually turn ON the TV that you want to setup on the remote
- Press and Hold until the TV key blinks twice
- Press and release the TV key. The TV key will stay lit.
- Find your TV and brand from the chart below and note the DIGIT key assigned to your brand. Press and hold down the DIGIT key for your device/brand while pointing the remote to the device.
- Let go of the key when your device turns OFF. Setup for that device is complete.

To TV
Code Method
- Turn on a device
- On the remote control, press a device key onc(i.e., VCR, DVD, AUD, TV, or STB); it will blink once.
- Press and hold SETUP until the selected mode key blinks twice, then release SETUP.
- Use the “Manufacturer’s Codes” starting on page 27 to locate the type of device and brand name and then enter the first four-digit code for your device. If performed correctly, the selected mode key will blink twice.
- Aim the remote control at the device and press POWER once. The device should turn off. If it does not, repeat steps 2 through 4, trying each code for your brand until you find one that works. If it still does not respond, try searching for the code (see “Searching for Your Code”).
To pair the remote to your TV
- Turn on your TV.
- On the remote control, press TV once; it will blink once. Then press and hold SETUP until the TV key blinks twice.
- Type 9 9 1. The TV key will blink twice.
- Aim the remote control at the TV and press POWER once.
- Press and release the CH+ key continuously, then stop when the TV turns off.
- Press POWER. The TV should turn on, then press SETUP once to lock in the code. The LED will blink twice to indicate that the code is saved.
