APERA 802 Heating Magnetic Stirrer Instruction Manual

Brief Introduction

Thank you for purchasing Apera Instruments Model 802 Heating Magnetic Stirrer. This stirrer is designed to perform safe and reliable heated stirring with easy-to-use functions and highly affordable rate. It is ideal for small-volume sample solution’s heated stirring. The stirrer has the following features:

  • Easily adjustable rotation speed (0 to 2300 RPM, max. Stirring capacity: 1000ml)
  • Heating the stirring surface to 120˚C (248˚F) within 5 minutes at fixed power
  • The overheating protection makes sure the heating stops when the surface temperature exceeds 150°C (302˚F)
  • The heat-resistant powerful magnetic steel effectively prevents the stir bars from bouncing
  • Works well for low-viscosity solution’s stirring

Specifications

  • Speed range: 0-2300 rpm (no load)
  • Diameter for working area: Ф120 mm
  • Maximum stirring capacity: 1000ml
  • Surface temperature: 120˚C to 150˚C (248˚F to 302˚F)

Instructions

  1. Place a container on the center of the working area of the stirrer so that the stirring bar is able to stir steadily.
  2. Place the stir bar (make sure it’s clean) on the bottom of the container; Pour solutions that need to be stirred into the container.
  3. Plug in the power, turn it on and adjust the speed dial to your required speed. You can increase the speed by rotating the speed dial clockwise.
  4. Switch on the heating button to start the heating (the backlight of the power button will be turned on).
  5. After use, turn the speed dial counter-clockwise to original position, switch off the heating button, and unplug the power supply.
  6. The standard kit includes 2 stirring bars (25mm and 30mm) for general use.

Notes

  1. When the stirrer is working, always make sure there is sample solution in the beaker. Never start the stirring without any solutions.
  2. The overheating protection makes sure the stirrer stops heating when the surface temperature reaches 150˚C (302˚F). The heating will start again after approximately 10 to 15 minutes.
