UNSAFE ENERGY PRODUCT
Made under Section 9A of the Energy Products (Safety and Efficiency) Act 2000
The Office of the Technical Regulator in South Australia, has identified a
potentially unsafe energy product, recently available for purchase on eBay
website.
The energy product is a portable cooking appliance marked as Copper Pro Double
Grill, Model:
81650, the packaging of the product was marked as ‘RED COPPER 5 minute chef
Electric Meal Maker’ – see photos below.
This appliance was available for purchase through an eBay seller identified as
‘everydaysource2017’, we understand this seller is based overseas.
The appliance was found to overheat and deform during use, did not comply with
Australian product safety standards and did not have mandatory Australian
certification to permit its sale.
If you have purchased this appliance, I advise that you cease using and
dispose of it in your rubbish bin.
