Product Usage Instructions:
Placement and Usage:
Lead Barriers should be placed between the X-ray source and
personnel to be protected. Choose between standard or overhead lead
barriers based on your needs.
Mobility and Maintenance:
- Always lock the casters before using the barriers.
- Ensure barriers are on a level surface.
- Move with caution, preferably with two people.
- Avoid striking barriers with hard objects.
Cleaning Instructions:
Leaded Glass Window:
- Use water, non-abrasive cleaning agents, and a soft cloth.
- Dry the glass after cleaning.
Leaded Acrylic Window/Panel:
- Use mild soap or detergent with lukewarm water.
- Apply light pressure with a clean soft cloth.
- Rinse with clean water and dry by blotting with a damp cloth or
chamois.
Frames (Standard & Overhead):

Neutered based disinfecting products may be used if

LEAD MOBILE BARRIERS – STANDARD & OIVERHEAD
USE MAINTENANCE
Lead Barriers should be placed in between the source of Xray and the personnel
that are to be protected. Phillips Safety offers two types of lead barriers,
standard and overhead.
The standard lead barriers consist of a frame made of powder coated steel with
a lead insert offering 2.0mmPbEq of protection and a window of either leaded
glass (2.0mmPbEq) or leaded acrylic (0.5mmPbEq).
The overhead lead barriers have a protective panel of leaded acrylic
(0.5mmPbEq) attached to a standing pole frame or ceiling mounted frame.
The Mobile Lead Barriers have locking casters. Unlock to move by depressing
the side pedal of the caster. Once in place, depress the pedal in the opposite
direction to lock. ALWAYS lock casters before using the barriers.
Make sure to keep the barriers on a level surface. Move with caution,
preferably with two people.
Avoid striking barriers with hard implements.
Unless designated as MRI safe, DO NOT expose to MRI fields.
Examine the lead barriers f requently. If the window becomes pitted, chipped
or in other ways of damaged, CEASE USE IMMEDIATELY and contact your
distributor for instructions.
Powder coated paint should be long lasting, but if chips do occur, touch up
paint is available from your distributor.

STORAGE
LEAD MOBILE BARRIERS – STANDARD & OIVERHEAD
When not in use, lead barriers should be stored in an area free of loose
objects that may accidentally fall and break glass. Casters should be locked
to prevent unintentional movement. Normal room temperature and low humidity is
ideal.
RECYCLING
Lead Barrier f ames (standard) contain lead in the frame as do the leaded
glass and leaded acrylic windows.
Lead Barrier frames (overhead) do not contain any lead in the pole/ceiling
mount f rames, but do contain lead in the acrylic panel.
The Leaded frame parts should be sent to an approved lead recycling facility
or may be sent back to Phillips Safety Products, Inc. for appropriate
disposal.
WARRANTY
Phillips Safety Lead Mobile Barriers have one year warranty against manufacturer defects. Attention: Does NOT include normal wear and tear or overloading of hanging points.

CLEANING
LEAD MOBILE BARRIERS – STANDARD & OIVERHEAD
The cleaning procedures will vary based on the kind of lead barrier you have.
DO NOT USE: Ammonia, Bleach or other Acid or Alkali based cleaners.
LEADED GLASS WINDOW
Use ONLY water, non-abrasive cleaning agentes and soft cloth.
ALWAYS dry the glass.
Lead Barriers with lead glass window is made with high lead oxide content
glass. The surface is susceptible to scratches and attack by acids and
alkalis.
LEADED ACRYLIC WINDOW/PANEL
Use a solution of MILD soap or detergent and lukewarm water.
Apply light pressure with a clean soft cloth.
Rinse with clean water and dry by blotting with a damp cloth or chamois.
FRAMES (STANDARD & OVERHEAD)
Lead Barrier frames may be cleaned with an NON-AMMONIA based or NON-CHLORINE based cleaner.
Any neutered based disinfecting product may be used if necessary.
ACCEPTABLE: Neutral Q, Century Q, DC Gold, 80% Isopropryl Alcohol, etc.
