Product Usage Instructions:
1. Installing the Batteries:
Press the button on the camera to release the battery cartridge.
Insert the rechargeable batteries (2 per camera). Replace the
cartridge and connect the USB cable to the port under the rubber
piece.
2. Charging the Camera(s):
Charge the camera(s) for at least 3 hours by connecting the USB
cable to the camera and a USB power supply. Make sure the batteries
are installed for charging.
3. Connecting to Wi-Fi Router:
Open the Night Owl Protect App, tap on Add New, and follow
on-screen instructions. You can use QR Code, Network Discovery, or
Manual setup by UID for connection.
4. Camera Installation:

Use the holes in the back of each camera to mark screw
positions on the mounting surface. -
Drill into the surface using a bit slightly smaller than the
screw anchors. -
Insert screw anchors, align camera base holes with anchors,
insert screws, and tighten to secure the camera.

If you are a first-time user, go ahead and download the Night Owl app. Quickly
create an account and log in. Already have an account? Simply log in.

Initial Start-up Steps
1. Install the batteries. Press the button on the camera’s belly to release
the battery cartridge and insert the batteries. Replace the cartridge and
connect the USB cable to the port under the rubber piece.

NOTE: Each camera requires 2 rechargeable batteries but can hold up to 4
batteries. Use of 3rd party batteries may damage the camera and void your
warranty. Compatible batteries can be purchased at NightOwlSP.com

2. Charge the camera(s) for at least 3 hours. Lift the rubber piece on the
camera’s belly and connect the USB cable to the camera and a USB power supply.
Please ensure the batteries are installed or the camera(s) will not charge.
Placing the camera in Pairing Mode (if needed): If the camera is not in
pairing mode, press the button on the camera’s belly to release the battery
cartridge. Press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds or until the camera
says, “Camera is in Pairing Mode.”
NOTE: Keep your camera plugged in for up to 3 hours to fully charge.

Adding Your Camera
1. Open the Night Owl Protect App. 2. Tap on “Add New” or “+” 3. Follow the
on-screen instructions to complete the
setup process.

Once the QR Code is captured the App leads you through the rest of the
process.

Doorbell Installation (Continued)
If setup is completed using Network Discovery or Manual setup by UID once your
device is added to the network you will need to select the category of the
device to proceed.
Select “Standalone camera” from the device list
NOTE: The Router’s security protocol MUST be set to WPA/WPA2 (strong
security).

Add Your Camera
To begin viewing your camera, add it to the Night Owl app or to a compatible
recorder. For more detailed setup steps, please scan the QR code below.

Camera Installation
1. Use the holes in the back of each camera as a template to mark the screw
positions on the surface where you plan to mount the camera.
2. Using a drill bit slightly smaller than the included screw anchors, drill
into the mounting surface using the guide marks.
3. Insert the screw anchors. Line up the camera base holes with the screw
anchors, insert the screws through the base and tighten to secure the camera
in place.
