Safety Notes

  • The product is intended for private, noncommercial use only.
  • Protect the product from dirt, moisture and overheating and use it in dry rooms only.
  • Do not drop the product and do not expose it to any major shocks.
  • Do not open the device or continue to operate it if it becomes damaged.
  • As with all electrical devices, this device should be kept out of the reach of children.
  • Dispose of packaging material immediately according to locally applicable regulations.
  • Do not modify the device in any way. Doing so voids the warranty.
  • Use the product for its intended purpose only.
  • Do not use the product in the immediate vicinity of heaters or other heat sources or in direct sunlight.
  • Do not use the product in areas where the use of electronic devices is not permitted.
  • Keep the packaging material out of the reach of children due to the risk of suffocation.
  • Do not operate the product outside the power limits given in the specifications.
  • Do not attempt to service or repair the product yourself. Leave any and all service work to qualified experts.
  • Use the item only in moderate climatic conditions.

Warning – Batteries

  • When inserting batteries, note the correct polarity (+ and – markings) and insert the batteries accordingly. Failure to do so could result in the batteries leaking or exploding.
  • Only use batteries (or rechargeable batteries) that match the specified type.
  • Before you insert the batteries, clean the battery contacts and the polar contacts.
  • Do not allow children to change batteries without supervision.
  • Do not mix old and new batteries or batteries of a different type or make.
  • Remove the batteries from products that are not being used for an extended period (unless these are being kept ready for an emergency).
  • Do not short-circuit batteries.
  • Do not charge batteries.
  • Do not throw batteries in a fire.
  • Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
  • Never open, damage or swallow batteries or allow them to enter the environment. They can contain toxic, environmentally harmful heavy metals.
  • Immediately remove and dispose of dead batteries from the product.

Warning – Batteries

  • Avoid storing, charging or using the device in extreme temperatures and extremely low atmospheric pressure (for example, at high altitudes).

Warning – Button cells

  • Do not ingest battery, risk of burns due to dangerous substances.
  • This product contains button cells. If swallowed, the button cell can cause severe internal burns within just two hours and lead to death.
  • Keep new and used batteries out of the reach of children.
  • If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product and keep it out of the reach of children.
  • If you think that batteries were swallowed or are in a part of the body, seek medical assistance immediately.

Functions

Normal time mode
Displays the time, date, weekday and temperature.
Alarm and snooze function
Set a daily alarm and snooze function, select an alarm sound.
Birthday reminder
Alarm function for a specific day in a specific year and at a specific time. The alarm plays a popular birthday song at the specified time. This alarm melody cannot be changed.
Timer
Classic count-down alarm (egg timer) with a time range from 23:59 to 00:01. After the specified time has elapsed, an alarm tone goes off
Temperature function
Automatically measures and displays the ambient temperature.

Music function
In normal time mode, press the ▼ button to play music or to stop it.

Installation and Settings

Note

  • After removal of the batteries’ contact breaker, the normal time is displayed in 12-hour format and a melody signals that the product is ready for use.
  • The function modes are organized as follows: Normal time mode ⇢ 12 h/24 h format/time/date ⇢Alarm and snooze function ⇢ Birthday reminder ⇢ Timer ⇢Normal time mode
  •  When the item flashes, it means that the item selected can be set.

5.1 Changing the battery

  • Push the integrated thermometer gently upwards so that it is released from the pin holder. (Fig. 1)
  • Open the battery compartment cover (7) by loosening the screw. If necessary, remove the spent battery and insert a new CR2025 button cell, checking the correct polarity.
  • Close the battery compartment by screwing the screw back in and push the thermometer back into the pin holder.

5.2 Setting 12 h/24 h Format, the Time, and the Date

  • In normal time mode, press the MODE button once to switch between 12 h and 24 h format.

  • Use the ▲and ▼ buttons to select the format you want to use.

  • Then press the SET button to set the time using the ▲ and ▼ buttons. The time is set beginning with the hour in the format that was previously selected, 12 or 24 hour time.
    The hour flashes in the display.

  • Next press the SET button to set the minutes using the ▲ and ▼ buttons. The minutes flash in the display.

  • Next press the SET button to set the current year using the ▲ and ▼ buttons.
    The year flashes in the display.

  • Next press the SET button to set the current month using the ▲ and ▼ buttons.
    The month (M) flashes in the display.

  • Next press the SET button to set the current day using the ▲ and ▼ buttons.
    The day (D) flashes in the display.

  • After making the settings, press the MODE button four times to return to normal time mode.

Note

  • In the course of setting the date, the day of the week – Monday (MON) to Sunday (SUN) – is set automatically.
  • If no button is pressed for one minute while the settings are being made, the device automatically switches back to normal time mode. The settings that were made up to
    that point are not saved!

5.3 Alarm and Snooze Function

  • In normal mode, press the MODE button two times or press the ALARM button directly to switch to alarm mode.
  • In alarm mode, press the SET button and use the▲ and ▼ buttons to set the hour for the alarm.
  • Next press the SET button to set the minutes using the▲ and ▼ buttons.
  • Then press the SET button to select an alarm melody from the melodies 1 through 9 using the▲ and ▼ buttons.
  • After making all the settings, press the MODE button three times to return to normal time mode.

Note – Alarm function

  • The alarm goes off every day at the set time.
  • The active alarm function is indicated by the word ‘Alarm’ in the display.
  • To completely deactivate the alarm function, press the ALARM button in normal time mode to switch to alarm mode. Press the SET button five times until you only see three dashes in the display (-:–).

When the alarm function is active, press the ▼button in normal time mode to activate or deactivate the snooze function.

Note – Snooze function

  • If the alarm function is activated without the snooze function, the alarm will only go off at the set time for one minute.
  • Press any button to stop the alarm, or to trigger this snooze function if it is activated.
  • If the snooze function is activated, the alarm will go off several times, each time for one minute.
  • The snooze function is only available when an alarm is set.

5.4 Birthday Reminder

  • Press the MODE button three times in normal time mode to go to the birthday reminder settings.
  • Now press the SET button to make the settings, and set the time and date using the ▲ and ▼ buttons.
  • Press the SET button to switch to the different positions:⇢ Hour ⇢ Second ⇢ Year ⇢ Month ⇢ Day
  • Press the SET button again to save and exit the settings.

Note – Birthday reminder

  • If no button is pressed for one minute while the settings are being made, the device automatically switches back to normal time mode.
  • The reminder plays a popular birthday song at the specified time. This alarm melody cannot be changed and continues to play for 5 minutes.

5.5 Timer Function

  • Press the MODE button four times in normal time mode to go to the timer function settings.
  • Now press the SET button to make the timer settings, and set the hour using the ▲ and ▼ buttons.
  • Press the SET button to switch to the minute settings.
  •  Press the SET button again to start the countdown timer.

Note – Count-down timer

  • If no button is pressed for one minute while the timer settings are being made, the device automatically switches back to normal time mode.
  • Once the count-down finishes, the alarm signal goes off for one minute.
  • You can press the alarm button to turn off the alarm signal.

5.6 Temperature Function

  • Temperature measurement starts automatically as soon as the batteries are inserted. The display shows the current ambient temperature.
  • In normal time mode, press the SET button to set Celsius or Fahrenheit as the unit of measurement.

5.7 Music Function

  • In normal time mode, press the ▼ button to activate the music function.
  • The activated music function is indicated by a symbol in the display. 7 popular melodies automatically play on repeat.
  • Once they are playing, you can press the ▼ button to deactivate the music function.

Care and Maintenance

Only clean this product with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth and do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
