Product Usage Instructions

Important Safety Information:

Before using the ice maker for the first time:

Important Safeguards

6. ARNING :

   • Do not store explosive substances such as aerosol cans with a flammable propellant in this appliance.
   • Keep ventilation openings, in the appliance enclosure or in the built-in structure, clear of obstruction.
   • Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate the defrosting process, other than those recommended by the manufacturer.
   • Do not damage the refrigerant circuit. WARNING: When positioning the appliance, ensure the supply cord is not trapped or damaged.
   • Do not locate power strips or other portable power supplies at the rear of the appliance.
   • When disposing of the appliance, do so only at an authorized waste disposal center. Do not expose to flame.
   • Fill with potable water only.

7. The refrigerant (R600a) is flammable. CAUTION: The refrigerant circuit of the appliance contains isobutane (R600a). Isobutane is a natural refrigerant gas with a high level of environmental compatibility, but it is nevertheless flammable. During transportation and installation of the appliance, ensure that none of the components of the refrigerant circuit becomes damaged.
   If the refrigerant circuit should be damaged: Avoid open flames and sources of ignition. Thoroughly ventilate the room in which the appliance is situated.

8. Before using the ice maker for the first time, please wait 2 hours after positioning it, and keep the transparent lid open for at least 2 hours.

9. Tap water should not be used in this unit: spring or filtered water is recommended.

10. Ensure the voltage is compliant with the voltage range stated on the rating label and ensure the grounding of the socket is in good condition.

11. Do not upend this product or incline it over a 45° angle.

12. To protect against risk of electric shock, do not pour water on cord, plug and ventilation, or immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.

13. Unplug the appliance when not in use or before cleaning.

14. Keep the appliance 3.5 inches from other objects to ensure enough room for ventilation.

15. Do not use accessories that are not recommended by manufacturer.

16. Do not use the appliance near flames, hot plates or stoves.

17. After switching the unit off, wait at least 5 minutes before switching it on again to avoid damaging the compressor.

18. Do not use outdoors.

19. Never clean with scouring powders or hard implements.

21. Opening the lid for long periods can cause a significant increase of the temperature in the compartments of the appliance.

22. To avoid contamination of water/ice cubes: Regularly clean surfaces that can come in contact with water and accessible drainage systems. Clean water tanks if they have not been used for 48 hr. If the refrigerating appliance is left empty for long periods, switch off, clean, dry, and leave the lid open to prevent mold from developing within the appliance.

23. Component parts shall be replaced with like components and that servicing should be done by factory authorized service personnel, to minimize the risk of possible ignition due to incorrect parts or improper service.

24. During servicing, service personnel should power down and unplug the ice maker.

25. If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.

26. It is normal for the compressor and condenser surface to reach temperatures between 158°F -198°F during operation, and surrounding areas may be very hot.

27. Due to fast freezing, ice cubes may be opaque. This is air trapped in the water and will not affect quality or taste of ice.

Set Instructions
A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Extension cords may be used if care is exercised in their use.
If an extension cord is used, the marked electrical rating of the extension cord must be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance, and the longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.

Unpacking Your Ice Cube Maker

• Remove all packaging material. This includes all adhesive tape holding the ice cube maker accessories inside and outside. You may want to keep the box and packing materials for use at a later date.
• Before using your Cuisinart® Compact Bullet Ice Cube Maker for the first time, remove all protective paper and wrapping. Wipe housing and internal compartments with a damp cloth to remove any dust from the warehouse or shipping.

Setting Up Your Ice Machine

1. During transportation, do not tilt the machine more than 45 degrees, and do not turn the machine upside down. This may damage the compressor and the internal sealing system.
2. Remove all packing materials, check the machine carefully, and make sure that the machine, power cord, and plug are undamaged.
3. Put the machine on a level surface. To ensure sufficient ventilation, the distance from the back of ice maker to the wall should be at least 6 inches. Place it away from the oven, radiator, or other heat sources.
4. Before using the machine for the first time, leave it unplugged and open for at least two hours.
5. Make sure that the home voltage is consistent with the voltage indicated by the machine.
6. When the ambient temperature is lower than 15°C/59°F, please choose small ice. When the ambient temperature is higher than 30°C/86°F, choose large ice.
7. Do not use chemicals, acidic or alkaline liquids to make ice.

Before First Use
Follow the steps under Cleaning and Maintenance before using this unit.

Operating Instructions

1. Adding water: Flip up the transparent lid, and remove the ice basket. Pour fresh, potable water into the reservoir. Do not fill past the MAX fill line. Replace the ice basket and close the lid.

2. Plug in the unit to a power supply. The SMALL indicator light will flash, indicating that size is selected and the unit is in standby. NOTE: If the ADD WATER indicator is illuminated, add water to the water tank, close lid, and then press and hold the POWER ON/OFF button for 5 seconds to continue.

3. Set size preference: SMALL is the default size setting. To change from SMALL to LARGE, quick press the POWER ON/OFF button once to toggle through and change the size setting. The LARGE indicator light will illuminate and flash, indicating the selection is active.

4. Making ice: Press and hold the POWER ON/OFF button for 2 seconds to begin making ice. The selected ice size indicator light will remain solid, indicating the unit ice making cycle is active.
   NOTE: To cancel operation, press and hold the POWER ON/OFF button for 2 seconds to return to standby mode.

5. The unit will continue to make ice until the ice basket is full, the reservoir is out of water, or the operation is canceled.

6. ICE FULL: The unit will continue to make ice until the ice basket is full. The ICE FULL indicator light will illuminate, and the unit will stop. Remove and empty the ice basket, and then return to the ice maker to continue making ice. NOTE: The water reservoir holds enough water to make 2 full baskets of large ice cubes, or 3 full baskets of small ice cubes. The machine will continue to make ice until the ice basket is full, the reservoir is out of water, or operation is canceled.

7. ADD WATER: When the water level in the water tank is low, the ADD WATER indicator light will illuminate and the unit will stop. To continue making ice, remove the ice basket and add water to the reservoir. Replace the ice basket, close lid, and then press and hold the POWER ON/OFF button for 5 seconds to return to standby mode.

After Use

1. Empty the ice basket and position back into the unit.

2. Drain excess water from the reservoir after use. To empty the reservoir, locate the drain outlet positioned on the bottom side of the unit. To access, carefully slide the unit to the edge of the counter and hold a cup below the drain outlet. Remove the plug and let water drain into the cup until the water stops flowing. Your unit can also be brought to the edge of the sink to drain. Be sure the unit remains flat at all times and is not tilted more than 45 degrees to avoid damaging the compressor system.
   NOTE: Always use potable water before starting ice production either at initial installation or after a long shutoff period.

3. The filter cover in the water tank should be cleaned regularly after disassembly to prevent the water inlet from being blocked by scale. Remove the ice basket and then the filter cover from the water tank. Clean the filter cover with a brush. Replace the filter cover and then the ice basket. See the image below for the filter cover location.

4. For the freshest ice, change the water in the reservoir at least once a day. If the ice maker is going to be idle for an extended period of time, drain and clean the water reservoir.

5. If the compressor doesn’t work because the water reservoir is empty, the ice basket is full, or power has failed, the machine has a 3-minute delay before restarting.

Maintenance

Any other servicing should be performed by an authorized service representative.

Cleaning and Maintenance
Your ice maker is equipped with an automatic cleaning function to help clean the interior of your unit, including the water lines. Following these steps will help to maintain the unit and add to longevity. It is recommended to follow these cleaning steps on a monthly basis to ensure optimal cleanliness.

1. Before cleaning, unplug the unit and remove the ice cubes, then drain any leftover water by unplugging the drain valve on the bottom of the unit. Replace the drain valve. Clean the inner liner, ice basket, water tank, and ice scoop frequently. Use a diluted solution of water and white vinegar to clean the inside and the outside surfaces of the ice maker. Rinse thoroughly before using again.
2. Fill the water tank with 1/2 tank of fresh potable water. Plug in the unit to a power supply. Press and hold the POWER ON/OFF button for 10 seconds to initiate auto-cleaning mode. The 4 indicator lights on the control panel will flash in sequence when unit enters cleaning mode.
3. If the ice machine has been idle for a period of time, an air blockage may prevent it from being able to pump enough water to make ice. If this happens, the ADD WATER light will illuminate. Press and hold the POWER ON/OFF button for 5 seconds to return to standby mode.

Troubleshooting

1. If the power cord is disconnected or the power button has been pushed off during an ice making cycle, small ice chips may form and lodge in the automatic ice shovel causing it to jam. If this occurs, the ice chips may be removed by disconnecting the power cord and gently pushing the shovel to the rear of the cabinet and removing the ice chips, then restarting.
2. If the automatic ice shovel cannot remove the ice to ice collecting tray, press and hold the POWER ON/OFF button for 2 seconds to return to standby model and restart.

The voltage is lower than recommended
