Safety instructions
- The product is intended for private, non-commercial use only.
- Protect the product from dirt, moisture and overheating and use it in dry environments only.
- Do not use the product in the immediate vicinity of heaters, other heat sources or in direct sunlight.
- While driving a car or using sports equipment, do not allow yourself to be distracted by your product and keep an eye on the traffic situation and your surroundings.
- Do not drop the product and do not expose it to any major shocks.
- Do not operate the product outside the power limits given in the specifications.
- Do not open the device or continue to operate it if it becomes damaged.
- The battery is permanently installed and cannot be removed; dispose of the product as a whole in accordance with the statutory regulations.
- Dispose of packaging material immediately in accordance with the locally applicable regulations.
- Do not modify the device in any way. Doing so voids the warranty.
- Use the product only for the intended purpose.
- Only use the article under moderate climatic conditions.
- Do not use the product in areas in which electronic products are not permitted.
- Do not attempt to service or repair the product yourself. Leave any and all service work to qualified experts.
- Do not incinerate the battery or the product.
- Do not tamper with or damage/heat/disassemble the batteries/rechargeable batteries.
- Take care that components such as airbags, safety areas, controls, instruments, etc. and visibility are not blocked or restricted.
- Ensure that the product is securely mounted before every journey.
Warning – rechargeable battery
- Only use suitable charging devices or USB ports to charge the product.
- Do not use defective chargers or USB ports and do not attempt to repair them.
- Do not overcharge the product or allow the battery to completely discharge.
- Avoid storing, charging and using in extreme temperatures and at extremely low atmospheric pressures (such as at high altitudes).
- When stored over a long period of time, batteries should be charged regularly (at least every three months).
Switching on/off
Press the MFB button (1) for around 3 seconds until the LED (4) lights up
blue and then goes out.
To switch off, press the MFB button (1) for around 3 seconds until the LED
(4) flashes red twice and then goes out.
Note – Automatic product switch-off
The product is equipped with an automatic switch-off mechanism. If there is no
connection to your device within 10 minutes, it switches itself off
automatically.
Charging
Fully charge the product once before using it for the first time.
Connecting the product
Connect the USB charging cable included to the charging socket (7). Connect
the free plug on the micro-USB charging cable to a suitable USB charger. To do
this, consult the operating instructions for the USB charger you are using.
Charging process
The LED (4) lights up solid red during the charging process. Once the charging
process is complete, the LED (4) goes out.
It can take up to 2 hours for the battery to be fully charged.
Battery capacity
When battery levels are low, the LED (4) starts to flash red.
Bluetooth® pairing

* Ensure that the Bluetooth®-enabled device is switched on and that the Bluetooth® function is activated.
- Please refer to the operating instructions of your device for more information.
- When the product is switched on for the first time, pairing begins automatically.
- The product and the device should not be more than 1 metre apart. The shorter the distance, the better.
- Switch the product on using the MFB button (1).
- This product has an integrated Bluetooth® function that allows streaming (e.g. from a smartphone) to the product.
Connection with a device (e.g. smartphone)
You can pair your device with the product using Bluetooth and use it as a
playback device. The basic functions can then be controlled directly via the
product (provided the device supports this). Alternatively, use your device
for control.
To connect to your device (e.g. headphones or loudspeaker), connect it using
the 3.5 mm AUX cable included and the audio output (6) on the product.
Connecting the product
Press and hold the MFB button (1) for around 6 seconds
- If the LED (4) is flashing alternately red and blue: the product is searching for a Bluetooth® connection.
- If the LED (4) lights up blue:
the product is already paired with a Bluetooth® device.
Search using your device for the product (only required on the first connection)
Open the Bluetooth® settings on your device and wait until the list of found
Bluetooth® devices shows Hama BT-Rex.
Select Hama BT-Rex and wait until product is listed as connected in your
device’s Bluetooth® settings.
Note – Bluetooth® password
Some devices require a password in order to connect to another Bluetooth® device.
- Enter the password 0000 to connect the headphones if your device prompts you to enter one.
Multi-point technology
This product can connect to two Bluetooth®-enabled audio devices
simultaneously (multi-point). The product automatically names the two devices
A and B and establishes a connection.
- First connect the first device to your product.
- Put your product in Bluetooth® pairing mode by pressing the MFB button (1) twice.
- Then connect the Bluetooth® function on the second device.
- Then connect the second device to your product.
Deleting the pairing list
Press and hold the MFB button (1) and – button (5) simultaneously for around 6
seconds while the device is switched on until the LED flashes blue/red once.
Then switch the device off and on again.
The pairing list is now deleted.

simultaneously.
During operation, the LED (4) flashes every 7 seconds.
Reset function
Press and hold the MFB button (1) while plugging in the charging cable to reset the product to its factory settings.
